Lucy Score does it again with Maggie Moves On. I loved Things We Never Get Over, so when I saw her new book, I knew I needed to read it ASAP. Lucy Score is now my latest auto-buy author. Maggie Moves On is a fun romcom with a mix of the History Channel with HGTV. All the characters were well developed and hilarious. I want to live in their small town! Silas stole my heart with his confidence, charm, and humor. I highly recommend the audiobook because the narration brought this story and characters to life!

Thank you, Forever and Hachette Audio, for my complimentary copies.

You cannot tell me that Lucy Score isn’t the best. Won’t here of it. This is a small town rom-com, love at first sight (on the Hero’s part), a cute puppo named Kevin, AND deals with fixer uppers. It’s everything I want in life!!!!!!!!

What I liked:
✨ Silas!!!! I love that he automatically fell in like with her, and just flirted like crazy with Maggie. They had a great chemistry and banter.
✨ Kevin!!!! LS, in all of the books I’ve read by her, always has such a love-able pet in her books.
✨ the steammmm 🤭
✨ LS also adds great family dynamics.

What I didn’t love:
✨ the treasure hunting… it seemed a bit rushed
✨ some of the pacing in the middle was weird—like almost dragging??? And some information was sort of dumped, and not talked about until the wrap up later.

Otherwise THIS BOOK WAS PURRFECT READ FOR VACATION!!

My first novel by Lucy Score!
You-tube home flipping sensation Maggie Nicholas is a workaholic with no time for love. Until, Silas Wright. Instant-romance with lots of steam. Forever in love with a book that has dogs in it and on the cover. However, instant romance just isn’t for me unless well developed. I appreciated the diversity of family and friendship dynamics in the story line but was also confused and felt they were odd. I wish this book was a **little** shorter.
This one was good not great. I feel like there wasn’t any overarching take away morals or themes that connected me to the romance or storyline.

Thoroughly enjoyable!

Ha! Lucy Score's Maggie Moves On literally has everything you'd want in a fun, flirty romance with all the good feels.

Maggie's not set out for a personal journey when she purchases her next reno, but that's what she ends up with. Between friendship, romance, family drama, and self-discovery, this girl's got a full plate. Oh, and I can't forget the adorable dog (attached to her future landscape designer's shapely hips!).

Laugh out loud funny, narrator Emma Wilder's charming voice makes it clear she's having as much fun performing Maggie Moves On as we are listening to it.

So this book starts with an adorable dog, and I thought I’m going to love it, but I was so wrong. I really wanted to get into this story but I have no idea why I just couldn’t, it was not bad, I just felt the the relationship and steam felt a little bit forced, and I got bored.

Thank you NetGalley and Hachette Audio for this ALC.

Lucy Score is queen of the steamy, small town romances with a cast of fantastic supporting characters. I also loved her little shout outs to her previous books. Silas did bug me though. He had the cheek to get upset with Maggie for not opening up to him about her past. Dude, you know she moves from town to town and is guarded, you have no right to force her to tell you everything just because you’re an open book.

Emma Wilder is a fabulous narrator, though I am surprised this wasn’t dual narrated.

This was an enjoyable story inspired by all those home renovation shows on TV. Maggie Nichols has her own YouTube show flipping houses. She has purchased a crumbling mansion in Kinship, Idaho planning to renovate/restore and flip it in four months. Everything is falling into place, and then she meets hot and sexy landscaper, Silas Wright. Not only does he ramp up her heartbeat, but his dog, Kevin is hilarious. There is immediate attraction, but Maggie is only interested in a fling, she has no intention of settling down. As they get to know each other, it might be harder to keep it casual.

This is my first Lucy Score book and I really enjoyed her writing style. The banter between Maggie and Silas was excellent and had me laughing, and the dog..... I loved Kevin, although probably not in my house. All the characters were well developed and even the secondary ones were relatable and likable. The pace and plot moved along well and kept me interested from start to finish. I loved the ending and finished this one with a smile on my face. There is some steam, but I enjoyed the story so much, it didn't bother me. I will definitely be picking up more books by Lucy Score. Emma Wilder does a great job with the narration. She gives the characters their own voices and I felt their emotion as I listened to this one. Overall, a great listen. I definitely recommend this audiobook.

Lucy Score will remain one of my favorite small town romance authors, and Maggie Moves On is no exception to this. (It also helps that Idaho and the city that Kinship is based on has a special place in my heart). In Maggie Moves On we meet Maggie - who is a YouTube star for buying and renovating homes with the sole purpose of flipping them. In Kinship Maggie has stumbled on what is likely going to be the most challenging renovation of her career, and in a town that holds important memories for her. In comes Silas, otherwise known as the "hot landscaper". While I am not a huge fan of insta-love, Lucy Score crafts the story in a way where I didn't mind it. Especially because the insta love is one sided and Maggie isn't having any of it.

This is a perfect novel for lovers of small town romance, found family, banter, and adorable pets. While the story finds a happily ever after at the ending, and we are provided an epilogue that wraps up all the supporting characters as well I definitely think this could turn into a series. I would love to read more about the supporting characters we have come to know and love throughout the novel such as reading more about Dean and Michael's romance.

Thank you NetGalley and Hachette Audio for the eARC of this audiobook!

I really enjoyed this one! I did the audio and the ebook. Maggie and Silas were such a fun couple. I fell in love with Silas immediately. Maggie grew on me - I think I struggled because I could relate to her. The narration was perfect and I loved the town and setting. I definitely recommend it for romcom or contemporary romance fans!

s soon as I saw the cover, I was hooked.

I'm a huge HGTV fan and Magnolia Network follower, and I just couldn't pass up a romance novel with a remodeling theme.

My instinct was right and I fell in love with Maggie and Silas between open spaces, walls being brought down, and new beautiful landscaping. More than that, I fell in love with Silas' family, Kevin (the pitbull), and his cats, Dean, Deanna, Cody, and even grumpy Wallace.

Maggie Nichols and her business partner Dean land in Kinship, Idaho for their new remodeling project. The Old Campbell Place is a mansion on a hill with splendid views but in need of a lot of love. The house has been left alone for too long and Maggie is determined to bring it back to life.

Maggie has a very successful youtube show and she is close to having a million subscribers. She knows this job could be the one that gets her there. She is ready to start working her magic when she meets the new landscaper guy, Silas Wright. She knows he is trouble but she has a rule, no dating the contractors.
But are rules meant to be broken?

Silas for his part falls for Maggie right away but convincing her to stay might be too hard to accomplish. Thankfully, he and his pitbull, Kevin are charming with a capital C.

The narration by Emma Wilder was entertaining and made these characters a pleasure to listen to.

Maggie Moves On is full of small-town delightfulness which includes a mystery, adorable pets, the family you can create, a budding romance, steamy scenes, and amazing banter. I smiled so much while reading it. I hope you do too.

Cliffhanger: No

Will Maggie finally settle down? This is my first book by Lucy Score and I know this won't be my last book buy her. I'm wondering if this book is a one and done, I hope not it would make a good series. Dean's story next. I like the restore part of this book, I like those tv shows about flipping houses. This is a great romcom.

Unfortunately, I was never able to download this audiobook. Try as I might, I have attempted to download it on the Netgalley Shelf app multiple times since the day I was granted access to the title. It kept stalling, timing out, or doing nothing. It was archived today, so I will read the ebook version I got from Netgalley when this download wasn't working, and will review it as soon as I can.

I love a good HGTV-type romance and Maggie and Silas’s story didn’t disappoint. Maggie purchased a massive home to renovate for her YouTube show. She hires Silas to be the landscaper of the enormous property in the hopes she can really flip the house for top dollar.

Maggie’s MO has always been to buy a house, flip it, and then move onto a new town, but she soon falls in love with the town of Kinship, Iowa, and the house itself. Will Silas be enough to make her put down roots?

This book was SO MUCH FUN. If you love HGTV, this is for you. It had a little bit of everything. Romance, mystery, comedy, and so much more. I would love for this to be a tv series so I can see these characters come to life. There were so many, which usually bogs it down, but that was not the case at all.

4 stars

You can read all of my reviews at Nerd Girl Loves Books.

This is a cute, flirty contemporary RomCom set in small town Kinship, Idaho. Maggie is a house flipping YouTube star that moves around the country, buys homes and lives in them while she renovates them online. Her latest buy is a huge Victorian mansion that requires a lot of work. While vetting contractors for the project, Maggie meets hunky landscaper Silas and his pitbull rescue dog Kevin. Silas is a huge flirt and is determined to break down Maggie's walls, worm himself into her life, and convince her to finally put down roots.

The house rehab has its ups and downs, and her business partner and several town people add humor and depth to the book. There is even a mini mystery in the book that is a fun side story. I really enjoyed Maggie. She's smart, determined and kind. She thinks she has everything she needs in her life, but as the story progresses, that idea is called into question. I liked Silas ok, although his immediate attraction and determination to make Maggie fall in love with him was corny at times. Also, if I hear the word "darling" one.more.time. I am going to SCREAM!! I listened to the audio of this book and maybe it was just the way the narrator said the word, but my skin crawled every time I heard it. The word was definitely used way too much in the book. Otherwise, it was refreshing to see the boy chasing the girl this time.

This is a very cute book and I loved this author's writing style. I highly recommend your read this book.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley and Hachette Audio. All opinions are my own.

This book was a breath of fresh air during a month of meh romance for me! From the very first page, I LOVED IT! Insta love is not always my fave, but man did Silas win me over with his unapologetic flirting and deep love for Maggie *swoon*

Here’s what else:
•Great blended and found family. Seriously, it was so dang heartwarming. I loved every character.
•Great dog - Kevin is the best!
•Small town setting
•Home renovations - I’m an HGTV nerd so this was perfect for me!

If you loved Part of Your World, I think you should pick this one up, it’s definitely got a similar vibe happening!

If I’m being picky, I wish it was a bit shorter and in first person POV, but I want every book to be first person…..soooooo….

A note about the audio: it was great! I adored the voice of each individual character and the story flowed so well!
