Wonderful, light addition to the Lyon's Series. This story has it all; not one but two stories of Earls trying to find wives while finding their HEA' along the way. Definitely recommended.
Thank you Linda Rae Sande, Dragonblade Publishing and NetGalley for allowing me an advance copy for my honest feedback.

There are two wonderful, romantic stories in this book with great storylines. All of the characters are likable and fun, and a little naughty. I enjoyed reading this, even though it got confusing at times because each of the couples had alternating chapters. A must read

Enter the world of the most notorious gambling den in London, where matches are made... unusually. Welcome to the world of THE LYON'S DEN: The Black Widow of Whitehall Connected World, where the underground of Regency London thrives... and loves.

If you haven’t read any of the books in The Lyon’s Den interconnected world get ready to enjoy a unique romance set in the Regency era but TOTALLY unlike a typical Regency book. Think of these books as “the marriage-mart gone rogue” and get ready for shenanigans and happily ever afters.

I found this story to be entertaining with likable characters and an intriguing plot. The story moves along at a steady pace and the ending ties up all the loose ends nicely, leaving the reader satisfied. I would gladly read more books from this author.

Oh oh Oh I just love stories where 2 people meet and then fate brings them back together again. This is one of those, but it is outstanding. Grab a glass and cozy up for this one!

This was a fun, Bridgerton style read. Full of romance and comedy. I enjoyed it very much and would recommend it to anyone wanting a light beach read that will make you smile.

Charming Regency Romance

In this story, we get two romances, for the price of one. A wounded hero falls in love with his nurse. After the war, they are separated, but fate and Mrs. Dove-Lyon bring them together again. Would Charles accept that he is lovable despite his injury? Then, there is Charles’s brother, the earl. He has the title, but the estate is poor. He goes off to court a woman with a dowry, but he falls in love with her sister. I enjoyed this story and would recommend it to those who like Regency romance with humor and charm.

A Twofor.....Two romances in one book. Younger brother who was in the army returns from a field hospital. He's enamoured by his nurse but doesn't know her name or current where abouts. Meets his elder brother, the earl to find that he wants him to get a debt back from Mrs. Bessie Dove-Lyon whilst James hares off to find himself an heiress.

Bessie wants to get a match for Charles but he refuses. He collects the debt and visits the earldom's solicitors to find out good news for himself but in the process realises that James has been gambling. This is explained later.
Charle's angel has returned to England and her mother is determined to get her married so approached Bessie to get the deed done. Amy finds out the name of her special patient (Charles ) and passes it to Bessie.

A good story all round with HEA for the quirky heroines.

This is yet another fabulous addition to the Lyon's Den books. Though I have not read anything by this particular author before, I enjoyed this newest addition as I have all the others. So I'm excited to add a new author to my list!
In this book, we get the added bonus of two love stories, each as romantic as the other. James Audley is searching for a bride to save his earldom and he finds the perfect lady, one of the daughters of the Marquess of Huntsford, Stephanie. When he sets out to her home to propose, he encounters another young lady, who happens to be Stephanie's sister and the daughter who is always overlooked. There is definitely a spark between these two as they travel to her home. James' intention was to court the older sister, but he can't deny the attraction he feels for the lovely young lady who has become his impromptu travelling companion.
Charles Audley is a tortured war hero, who was badly wounded and nearly died in Waterloo. Amy was the angel who cared for him while he was there and now he is back home and can't stop thinking about her. But he has no business wishing for what can't be, because of the injuries he sustained, he does not think of himself as worthy of anyone. But fate brings him and Amy together again but there are obstacles in their way which they must overcome in order to be together.
This was a thoroughly enjoyable and engaging read which had me captivated from beginning to end. A wonderful addition to this delightful series!

A very pleasant read with relatable and likeable characters, “The Courage of a Lyon”, by Linda Rae Sande (Dragonblade Publishing), is a historical romance novel featuring two romantic couples.
I found the writing solid and the characters well developed. The author managed to bring lightness in the story, although the characters are dealing with serious matters and adjusting to new realities.
All main characters are interesting, but I particularly liked the wounded hero and how he coped with a different body and learned to adapt his new characteristics to everyday life.
There’s a blend of tenderness, desire and eroticism between Charles and Amy that is so very enjoyable to read.
The attentiveness and thoughtfulness of the hero about the heroine’s pleasure is very attractive, as is the openness within the couple about sexual attraction, interaction and exploration (even if it sounds sometimes a bit modern). Amy’s curiosity about sex is interesting, too.
James and Eloise’ love at first sight was also compelling with the nonconformist heroine and the smitten hero falling head over heels for her.
Another aspect I liked in this story is the honesty between the main characters and how they’re loving and kind to each other.
All in all, a sweet and gentle love story, with some spice and moderate heat, dealt with in an intelligent way.

The Courage of a Lyon by Linda Rae Sande is part of the Lyon’s Den Connected World. Recovering from his wartime injuries and returning home to an earldom on the verge of bankruptcy, Captain Charles Audley must settle his brother’s debts. Charles cannot stop thinking about the nurse from the battlefield who he is greatly attracted to. He soon finds that he may see her again after all. James heads to Cambridgeshire in pursuit of a marquess’ daughter’s dowry. His plans are thwarted when he discovers that she is already spoken for, but he soon finds himself drawn to her younger sister.

I liked how this book told two separate love stories. Both stories were very different from each other, so it made for a fast and refreshing read.

A surprisingly lighthearted telling of not one but two love matches. The brothers Audrey are a couple of dashing, charming men who both end up in matchmaking challenges to win a lady’s hand. Though only one wins their challenge, both end up with their own love match in the end. These two tales both shine with their independent ladies. These women are not your typical Lady, but something all together different. Both lovely and a little wild but in all the right ways. I enjoyed the back and forth between the two tellings, it made for a fast paced wild ride. The Lyons Den stories always suck you in with their familiarity while being completely new and endearing, and Linda Rae Sande’s voice fits perfectly into this world.

I really enjoyed this book. Two love stories are always a treat. The story goes between our main character Charles and his brother James. Charles is reunited with his nurse, Amy, from the war hospital. Before he and Amy make a life together he must first win her from a wager at the Lyon's Den. James goes on a quest to secure a Lady and her large dowry only to fall in love with the Lady's hoyden of a sister, El.
The book was entertaining and had a little heat mixed in.

The Courage of a Lyon by Linda Rae Sande is another of the plethora of stpories that make up the Lyon's Den Connected World. This time there are two romances, brothers, only one of which is involved with Mrs. Bessie Dove-Lyon, although the other and his bride, have had glancing almost-transactions with her. Captain Charles Audley has returned home from the war in France with a badly broken leg: he needs crutches in order to get around. His brother, though he loved him, was not a brilliant man, has asked him to collect on a debt and to determine the financial position of the earldom, knowing full well it was on the edge of bankruptcy. Their father had brought it back from the edge when he received it, but James had not been able to maintain that positive position. The IOU should be paid by the widow of Colonel Lyon, Mrs. Bessie Dove-Lyon. Not knowing any better, Charles proceeded and Bessie paid the debt. James was off to try to make a marriage with a young woman with a hefty dowry. When Charles dropped in at the solicitor's office he was given two important pieces of information: the lady in question was already betrothed, and his commander in Europe, Colonel Elias Sinclair had died and was to be buried tomorrow.

This was a very enjoyable story. Both brothers found happiness with good women, and were positive and happy along the way. That happiness was probably pretty unlikely but the story was imbued with it, none-the-less. Amy Sinclair had been his nurse during his time in the war hospital, and had performed a service for him that made all the difference. He thought of her as Angel. She remembered him as well, and wondered where he was and what he was doing. James arrived after discovering that Lady Stephanie was betrothed, but hoped they would invite him to stay. He was nearly out of money and needed a day or two before returning home. As his carriage was making it's was up the long, drive, he spied a young woman walking. By the time they reached the house, without even knowing who she was, he was in love. These are four terrific characters and a new story in the world where a reader might have thought to have read every possible variation. It was a terrific read.

I was invited the read The Courage of a Lyon by Dragonblade, through Netgalley. All thoughts and opinions are mine. #netgalley #dragonblade #lindaraaesande #thecourageofalyon

Cash-strapped brothers find themselves with almost insurmountable debts, especially given the year without a summer in 1815, when returning soldiers from the war against Napoleon coincides with massive crop failures and devastating losses. In the middle of it, the Black Widow of Whitehall continues to spin her web, ordering the lives of both men and women, generally for the better. This novel has wit and charm as the brothers work towards eliminating the debt hanging over their heads. Captain Charles Audley has returned from war with an injury that will probably mean walking with a limp for the rest of his life. However, seated deep in his mind is the ministering angel who gave him comfort in the darkness of the camp medical facility, but he unfortunately does not know her name. At the same time James, the Earl of Leicester hares off in another direction, chasing a dowry rather than a possible bride. He discovers that his plans have been thwarted before he even reaches his destination. However, not all is lost as he meets up with a determined young woman on the road to Excelsior Park, the home of the Marquess of Huntsford. From their first meeting Lady El manages to keep James guessing and she is just what he needs. Whilst Charles discovers that the nurse who had tended to him is the daughter of his deceased commanding officer, but winning her hand takes courage and ingenuity, with some help from Bessie Dove-Lyon. The intertwined stories are romantic and entertaining and came to a delightful conclusion. I received a copy of this novel as a gift through Dragonblade Publishing and NetGalley and this is my honest and voluntary review.

Prepare to fall in love with the two stories that unfold of two brother's, one needing funds due to
his estate being left with no money and the other a wounded hero coming back from the war, feeling he will never find love. What they do find is two amazing ladies!

James needs a wife with money due his estate not being profitable. As he sets out to visit and hopefully marry one young lady, he ends up with her sister who he finds walking along the road!
They have a wonderful journey!

Captain Charles Audley, James's brother knows he will will never marry because he is crippled from the war, and really has no future to support a lady. But he cannot get the nurse off his mind that was there when he was in the hospital.

Amy had joined her father when he went to fight Napoleon and had worked in the hospital. She has memories of one soldier and would like to know what happened to him. Unfortunately, when she and her father got back, he quickly became ill and passed away. Her mother sends her to the Lyons Den to get the proprietress to find her a husband. Guess who it is?

I loved, loved that story.. my favorite trope of the wounded hero. Don't miss this wonderful addition to this fantastic series!

What a wonderfully delightful story. James Audley has inherited an earldom that is barely solvent. He needs a wealthy wife, and thinks he knows where to find one. Captain Charles Audley, James’s brother, has just returned from the war. Wounded at Waterloo, he depends on crutches or a cane to walk. He is not looking for love. Neither of them is going to get what they are looking for, but they will find something, or a couple of someones they need. Amy Sinclair is returning to England from Belgium, where she was a nurse during the war. She and Charles have met, sort of. Lady Eloise Wilson, she likes to be called El, is not the woman James is looking for, but she is the one he finds.

Two great heroes and two lovely heroines. James is on his own in winning El, but Charles is at the mercy of, I mean has the assistance of Mrs. Bessie Dove-Lyon. Little does he know he is arm wrestling for the hand of the Angel who cared for him in Belgium. There is all kinds of fun and a lot of surprises these stories. There are few challenges, but things have a way of working out as they should. There is one last very pleasant surprise at the end of the story. One HEA is good, two, fantastic. An enjoyable story, loveable characters, and a visit with Bessie Dove-Lyon. Great read!

I received an ARC of this book from the publisher via NetGalley. My review is voluntary.

This wasn't the first Lyon's Den book that I have read, but it was the first book I have read by Linda Rae Sande. It was kind of fun to enter a world I've been in before but through the lens of a brand new (to me) author. Having the two stories run simultaneously worked really well and each story was interesting on its own. I also liked that James wasn't an irresponsible earl because that's done so many times in these types of books. It also meant his story wasn't the predictable one of a man needing redemption. The instant chemistry between James and El was actually believable - especially since they discuss the whole "love at first sight" aspect of their relationship. The only part of their story I did not like was that he never comes clean about his initial intention to court El's sister - I feel like there is no way that will never come out. James and Amy's story was equally sweet. I liked that Amy was very clear about wanting James and wasn't going to let him push her away. I would have liked a little more about why James was Amy's favorite patient. The arm wrestling challenge made for a fun wager, although 100% predictable. Overall, another great addition to the Lyon's Den universe! And it introduced me to an author that I will be keeping an eye out for in the future.
