Captain Charles Audley comes home a wounded war veteran with memories of the war but the memory of his 'angel' will haunt him the worst. However, he comes home to find the Earldom in dire straights. Not happy with his brother that he has brought so much debt to his earldom, both brothers set out to help put things back to rights.
Charles meets his angel in England only to discover that 'THE matchmaker' has her hooks into his angel.
James goes to find his bride only its not who he thinks it will be.
Engaging, Intriguing, and compelling. Both stories interwoven together. Pay attention not a speed read book for a quick break. I enjoyed how the both brothers found their perfect women, no matter how odd she might be.
I recieved a free copy so that I might tell you what I honestly think. Hope you enjoyed my review. Now go enjoy the book.

What a unique style of writing is presented to us in this Lyon’s tale. I appreciated the problems shared by Captain Charles Audley and his brother the Earl. Captain Audley has spent months in a field hospital after being wounded in a battle fighting Napoleon. His main memory of that time was the nurse, he called angel, which took care of him during his stay. The Earl has money problems that he needs to solve by keeping his estates afloat. The Earl sends Charles to the Lyons Den to recover money owed to them, hoping that this will help. Not known to him, a lady is also brought there by her mother to have her married off. Two brothers in need of money, both for diverse needs, and a lady needing a husband. What an interesting combination of events leads you to keep reading as the plot develops. I genuinely enjoyed and will reread this adventure again.

Recovering from his wartime injuries and returning home to an earldom on the brink of bankruptcy, Captain Charles Audley is faced with the momentous task of settling his mischievous brother James Earl of Leicester’s debts. But try as he might, he can’t take his mind off the angel of a nurse Amy Sinclair who cared for him on the battlefield. And after he crosses paths with an enigmatic matchmaker with a strange proposition, it quickly becomes clear that he might not have seen the last of his wartime beauty. Meanwhile, James heads to Cambridgeshire, dead-set on winning the hand – and the hefty dowry – of the Marquis of Huntsford’s daughter Stephanie. But when he discovers her already taken, he finds his eye drawn to her rebellious and fiercely independent younger sister. James can’t bear the thought of returning home empty-handed and although Lady Eloise is convinced he’s only interested in courting her sister, an attraction begins to bubble to the surface that leaves her questioning James’ true intentions. With their earldom at stake and two young women desperate for men who can understand their deepest desires, can Charles and James find real love? And will the cunning talents of matchmaker Mrs. Dove-Lyon come to the rescue?
Two romances for the price of one! Another well written romance, which drawn me in from cover to cover. The characters have depth & I was routing for the foursome to find their HEAs. I loved the chemistry between the couples & how it grew & changed. An engrossing read
My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read

This one is very funny and entertaining. Two brothers, one an Earl and the other a crippled Captain, King's Army, are facing an estate with no money. James, the Earl of Leicester, decides to ask for the hand of a rich heiress, but there are many other gentlemen in the running. Heading to her family's country estate, Havenhurst, his carriage breaks down and he falls for the young lady walking to the estate. It is the younger sister, El. Captain Charles Audley, goes to the Lyon's Den to collect an amount owed to the Leicester estate. He has no intention of getting married even to the nurse he remembers, his angel. Mrs. Dove-Lyon enjoys a challenge. Amy Sinclair is considered ruined from being a nurse to wounded soldiers during the war. Her mother has gone to Mrs. Dove-Lyon for her assistance. Amy knows of only one man she wants to marry. The man who was her favorite patient. When Mrs. Dove-Lyon issues a match in arm wrestling for Amy's hand in marriage, Charles cannot lose. A romance of two brothers that find the unexpected and a laugh out loud way of getting there.
Heat level 4.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book.

A set of brothers looking for means to save their legacy…

If you’re new to the author’s work, just know you just have won a surprise, two romances wrapped in one.
Outside her very peculiar clever and witty voice, the author always offers two love stories in her every book. Often with related characters as the author has created a whole community over time, so it gives her the means to explore friendship, enmity, estrangement, rescuing and so on.
The tales are a anthill of characters, which you will love to learn about, and maybe at time, they will have their own story.
Here we have a set of brothers trying to find a way of of the circumstances of many peers, bankrupted estates.
James is the Earl and enjoyed quite the life his title provided, until inhiriting the earldom and discovering the extent of their debts. So he is on the hunt for a bride, preferably well endowed.
Yet when he learns his selection of bride-to-be is already betrothed, he still continues on his journey, in the hope to catch maybe a neglected heiress.
Eloise has enough of this procession of suitors, all looking for her elder sister’s hand and her dowry. When she is not seen as considered too much a hoyden, less proper and too wild for the like of the titled men in search of a biddable wife.
Until she literally crosses path with a man who says he has no interest in her sister and seems to see her, really see her.

Charles is the spare, freshly returned from the war, wounded and left by his sort of a scoundrel brother to settle some debt.
He believes his wound put him in the unmarriable box, even if he longs for the “Angel” who nursed him when he was at his lowest.
Amy is just back from the war-field hospital, with her father to bury and a mother determined to see her married, even if she must hire an unconventional matchmaker.
Once they meet again, their match is no real challenge outside thwarting the gauntlet the matchmaker has set in motion.

A fun entertaining double romance.
4.5 stars

𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗹𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹 onscreen detailed lovemaking scenes.

I have been granted an advance copy by the author, here is my true and unbiased opinion.

Really enjoyed this book, a double HEA, two brides for the price of one and a whole family happy for the future.

Two brothers both broke, one searching for a bride to save his Earldom, one assuming he is unloveable because of a war injury.
It’s a compelling read once you get into the split chapter reading, following both brothers on different journeys .

It’s a little steamy in parts , some brilliant chemistry and great characters.
One to relax and enjoy.

I received an Arc copy of this book and chose to post this review
