Adult cozy mystery, 3rd in a series but could easily stand alone. Shiloh Bellamy (Shi) is working on reviving the family farm, but murders in the town keep getting in the way. This time it's the owner of the local brewery, Wallace Fields, who shows up under the ice at the big ice fishing derby. Shiloh herself discovers the body and her best friend's husband is the lead suspect. And since it happened outside the town, it's a new law enforcement officer on the case. Milan is a bit more patient with Shiloh's involvement than Chief Randy has been in the past. In fact, he may be interested in more than Shiloh's theories on the case. Investigating gets Shiloh involved in the local brewing scene. Meanwhile, the work on the farm includes demolition of the dilapidated front porch. Huckleberry the pug steals the show again, this time as he adjusts to having to wear doggy boots in the Michigan winter. A fun story, a great cast of characters, and a series I will continue to seek out.

In Farm's Way is the third installment in the Farm to Table Mysteries series set in Cherry Glen, Michigan and featuring organic farmer Shiloh Bellamy. Money is tight on the farm and Shiloh is wondering how she'll handle all the various repairs needed, get ready for the Spring planting and deal with her cantankerous father.

Shi thinks that she has an opportunity to pitch her organic products to Wallace Fields owner of Fields Brewing Company in order to generate some much needed income for her family. But instead of spotting a trophy fish through the ice at the annual Lake Skegemog fishing derby, Shiloh and her boot wearing pug, Huckleberry discover Wallace floating amidst the seaweed.

When Shiloh's best friend Kristy's husband Kent becomes the prime suspect in Wallace's murder, Shiloh finds herself drawn into a dangerous investigation. Kent is a part time bartender and brewer at Fields and was also the last person seen with Wallace.

A fast paced mystery with an interesting cast of characters that will leave you wanting to spend more time on Bellamy Farm. I just hope the author doesn't put Shiloh in the midst of the dreaded "love triangle".

I received an advanced copy of In Farm's Way from NetGalley via Poisoned Pen Press. While not required to write a review I am happy to offer my honest opinion.

Another hit in a good series. Love this author too. Shiloh is at it again and helps solve another cozy mystery. Highly recommend this book and author.

These cozy little mysteries are always food for my bookreader's soul. This is a newer series and I'm finding it lots of fun. I'm trying to think of all the funny and witty things to say and I'm just out of words (I hate when that happens), regardless, this is worth picking up!

Thank you Netgalley, for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Shiloh Bellamy is coming back home to Michigan and her family farm after years away in L.A. Shiloh wants to have her farm become an organic farm and possibly get into selling her crops to a local beer brewery. This dream along with some other hopes will have to wait until Shiloh can get the farm in tip top shape which will take a lot of hard work and money. The farm consists of many chickens, cats her father Sully and her best pug Huckleberry.
One night Kristy Garcia Shiloh's best friend invites her to come to a beer tasting contest which her husband Kent is entering. If Kent wins he will become the head brew master for Fields Brewing Company. Kent works there as a bartender but would love the brew master job. It means more money for his growing family, plus he is getting into making beer. The company is run by Wallace Fields who has the reputation of being a hard man to work for and will stop at nothing until he has what he wants. Right now he wants everything that has to do with beer.. That is until...........Wallace Fields is found dead during the ice fishing competition by none other than Shiloh Bellamy.
What happens next is Shiloh trying to clear Kent's name when he becomes a suspect and she also finds out that Wallace was not liked by most of the towns people. They said he stole his way to the top. His own family hated him. Shiloh needs to help out her friend, stay out of the sheriffs way and still try and get her farm up and running. With all these suspects how will she do it all and not get herself killed.
I love the characters in this mystery. Shiloh is a strong determined woman who comes back home and tries to get her life with her dad on track, while trying to keep the family farm going. Her love for the land and her animals show that she will work hard to keep it all going. I liked the twists and turns with the story line. It really kept you guessing. I had not idea who the killer was until the end. This is why I like these cozy mysteries they keep you guessing. Since this is the first book I've have read by Ms. Flower I am curious as to where her next book will take us. Shiloh had gotten a big surprise at the end and now she has a decision that could change her life greatly.
I totally recommend this book to anyone who loves cozy mysteries as much as I do. Its an easy read, one I would recommend reading after you have read a real deep and emotional book. Thank you Ms. Flower for a wonderful story and NetGalley for the ARC. Looking forward to the next one.

Such a good cozy “who done it“ mystery with great characters. It was a real written story and I love how Amanda Flower always incorporates animals into the storyline that keep the reader engaged. I highly recommend this book.

All words and opinions are my own. I was given a complimentary copy of this book for my honest review.

I didn't realise that this was book three in a series but I must say it didn't affect to reading of this book which I really enjoyed.

I love that it is a series called Farm to Table and love the foodie aspect of the book. A great cosy read with a bit of murder, a bit of intrigue and a little pug dog. It is the perfect length for a book and it was a story that was entertaining but also kept me wondering, 'Who Dunnit!?'. I like that in a book as if it is predictable you really loose the story and get a bit bored.

Shiloh is a great character and I loved reading about her and her relationships with friends and family (and her dog of course). A great pace for a mystery with a few clues but they didn't give anything away. Was a fun, entertaining and enjoyable read.

Cozy mysteries are my guilty pleasure, and In Farm's Way hits all the right marks. The characters are instantly likeable, although Huckleberry the pug steals the show. The author gave the main character, Shiloh, more depth than other cozy mysteries usually do. Her inner turmoil with the relationships she has with those closest to her makes her very relatable. It also adds another dimension to the story telling.

The mystery of who murdered the egregious Wallace Fields unfolds in a gratifying way. The answer to the question of "Who did it" isn't obvious, which makes the storyline even better.

Not unbiased as I love her writing and this series is great.
Shiloh was born and raised in Cherry Glen, moved to California and was a successful producer but left after a number of years to work on the family farm as her father no longer could manage. She has a lot of friends, a pet Pug, and a Siamese cat. Once again, Shiloh becomes involved in investigating a murder. This man seemed universally unliked, but Shiloh's best friend's husband is the prime suspect. And then there's the beer/brewery issue! Excellent sleuthing!
It was odd for this Cheesehead to hear "fishing derby" when we call them "fisherees".

The Farm to Table Mystery series is a much loved favorite of mine. Shiloh Bell a my is getting used to being back on the farm except murder keeps cropping up. This time a local brewery owner is found frozen in the lake with Shiloh's best friend's husband as the main suspect. Great character development. Awesome story line. Filled with red herrings to keep you guessing. A favorite series that I highly look forward to!! Thanks#netgalley and #PoisonedPenPress for the eARC in exchange for an honest review. She has a farm that is being certified organic, with cherry trees, chickens, barn cats, and a pug who strongly dislikes doggie boots.

When her fiancé died in a car crash, the town suspected Shiloh, and with her trust shattered, she fled to Los Angeles and had a successful career, but no meaningful friendships or relationships. It was a long drought.

Shiloh had been a Hollywood tv producer for about 15 years, but she was finished with that life, and the family farm had nobody left but her to restore and bring it back to life.

A love interest? Kinda. Quinn, a very helpful fireman/EMT with a tween daughter. But he issn't over his past, or the death of his best friend--Shiloh's fiancé--15-16 years ago.

Hazel, Quinn's 12 year-old daughter (in 7th grade), is everything anyone would want in a daughter (or granddaughter, as Shiloh's Dad demonstrates--sadly emphasizing what he withheld from Shiloh in her youth--but some folks are like that). Hazel loves the farm and helping with everything. And she loves Shiloh.

Now, the local brewery and big employer is having a cherry-flavored beer contest for an upcoming event. But there are claims the owner, Walter steals recipes and cheats local microbrewers. To make matters worse, not better, somebody kills Walter, and Shiloh is the first to see him.

Can she resist getting involved? No. Will her pug Huckleberry, run the farm? Doubtful. Will everything go off without a hitch? Try again!

3/5 Stars Too wordy (repeated filler), moves a bit slowly, several unlikeable people, but a pleasant story.

In Farm's Way is the third installment of Amanda Flower's Farm To Table Mysteries. Shiloh Bellamy has made it through her first summer back on the farm and winter has set in. During the local ice fishing contest, Shiloh and Huckleberry, her pug, are walking on the frozen lake and discover a body beneath the ice. The body is that of a local brewery owner who had held a tasting party just the night before.

As with all of the books written by this author, the character's are multi-dimensional and well-developed with numerous interpersonal relationships which link the entire cast creating a plethora of possibilities for interactions, motives, and future stories. As this series develops, the author is also very adept at introducing new characters to create additional conflict and exploration of existing relationships. Within this book, there are plot twists and red herrings that lead to several potential motives and suspects which all lead to an interesting and innovative revelation scene. Within the culmination of this book, the author also gives the reader a conclusion to a mystery that has been a common thread throughout the series but also opens up new avenues and directions for the characters to explore in future installments. I look forward to future stories about Shiloh and her family, friends and neighbors.

I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley and Poisoned Pen Press and am leaving this review voluntarily.

Shiloh Bellamy has a knack for finding dead people! When a local brewery owner is found dead in the frozen lake, Shiloh's best friend's husband becomes a suspect. Shiloh is determined to clear his name much to the local law-enforcements disgruntlement!

I have really enjoyed the Farm to Table Mysteries so far and In Farm's Way was a great addition. I'm loving the romantic interests in the stories and am anxiously waiting to find out if Shiloh has chosen the person I want her to be with! The murder was creative and I enjoyed following Shiloh as she hunted down clues to find the guilty person. I'm a bit frustrated with Shiloh and her father's relationship. I really wish he would get a clue. As always, the author has some cute furry characters that crack me up. Huckleberry, Shiloh's pug, has a funny personality that makes me laugh. If you enjoy cozy mysteries be sure to pick up this latest in the series.

Amanda Flower never disappoints. Book two of this series is a very good mystery with engaging characters. And I was now interested than I thought I would be with the brewery information.
Thank you to NetGalley for the advance read.

I’m always happy to read a book written by Amanda Flower. This story was easy to get into and full of twists, and it’s not easy to figure out the identity of the murderer until almost the end of the book. There are great descriptions of the characters and settings that make you visualize them. It is such fun to keep up with the characters who feel like friends. And now I’m anxiously waiting for the next book because this one ended with a potential romance. I recommend this book and the series to anyone who likes a good mystery. I received an arc of this book from NetGalley and the publisher. All opinions expressed are my own.

In Farm’s Way is book 3 of Amanda Flower’s Farm to Table Cozy Mystery series. It’s winter time but that doesn’t mean that Organic Farm owner Shiloh Bellomy is any less busy. She’s working on repairs to her run down farm and making plans for her summer time organic crops. When Shiloh’s best friend Kristy Garcia invites her to a beer tasting party and voting contest for a new cherry flavored beer she reluctantly attends but she’d rather be home in her cozy cabin reading by the fire place. The party is held at the Fields Brewing Company in downtown Cherry Glen. When Kristy’s husband's brew doesn’t take first place and the award goes to Brewery owner Wallace Field’s right hand man voters question the results of the vote. Then the very next day Wallace Fields is found frozen under the ice in Lake Skegemog. When Kent Garcia becomes a prime suspect Kristy goes to her friend Shiloh for help in rounding up suspects in hopes of getting her husband removed from that list. Since Wallace Fields wasn’t well liked by the community there seems to be no end to finding suspects but only one person killed this man. Find out who and why when you read In Farm's Way.

I think what I enjoyed the most about this mystery was the relationship between Shiloh Bellomy and her little pug dog Huckleberry. I always appreciate this authors mysteries because of her writing style. Amanda Flower has long been one of my favorite Cozy Mystery writers. This one kept me guessing to almost the end of the book and I was surprised by Whodunnit. It was entertaining and unpredictable. The characters fit well with the story. I’m looking forward to reading book four because of the way this book ended. Readers are left hanging when Shiloh must make an important decision in her life.

I recommend this book to readers of Cozy Mysteries and fans of the Author. I have read the first three books but I feel that a reader could keep up with this story if they have not read book one or book two.
This book is scheduled to be released on 2/24/23

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book. All opinions expressed here in this review are my own.

I enjoy many of this author's works. This is a fairly new series. Overall, the book is a fun read that is typical of cozy mysteries. I did feel that the character of Shiloh could be developed a bit more, I find her a bit bland. And I would like to see more of a supporting cast of regulars from the town. I kept wondering for someone who kept saying how much work it was to run a farm why she was never doing any farm work. The main part of the mystery revolved around a brewery in town and a murder that was connected to it. Some of the story involving the brewery and facts about it were hard to believe. The resolution of the book was tangential and reaching at best.

Shiloh decides to help solve the murder of a brewery owner so her best friend's husband doesn't take the fall. Good character development from the first book in the series, but since this is only book two, a newcomer to the series should be able to follow along. The plot moved along briskly enough with clues pointing to the killer. A quick cozy read. I received an ARC via #netgalley.

While I enjoyed this book overall, I had a couple of issues. This was an ARC, so probably not the final version. There were more than the usual goofs that needed to be corrected, wrong words, a sentence that didn't make sense, etc. I obviously noticed them, but they didn't really impact my enjoyment of the book. But my second issue, when has the dropping of clues to enable the sleuth and reader to solve the mystery disappeared?

I've commented in the last several books by this writer (which I've read very closely together) that the killer keeps outing themself. There was no proof or really strong indications in most cases that the individual may be the killer. The same in this case. It's terribly, terribly flimsy how Shiloh puts some pieces together after the killer outs themself in the usual way of Flower's last several books.

I get enough enjoyment out of the characters, settings and general story lines, but I would like to see more effort in developing the mystery.

I received my copy from Netgalley in exchange for my honest review.

This is just a fun little series. I particularly love the location. The local characters are quirky and the cozy murder mysteries keep the reader's attention. Recommend this series and this book, especially if you love Northern Michigan!
