While this is a fast-paced book, I somehow lost interest around 25%, and it took me forcing myself to finish. Trinity who not only doesn't remember anything but is also blind when she leaves heaven to enter the human world in Minnesota, meets Jayden. As the story progresses, Trinity's eyesight comes back, and she remembers why she came to Earth in the first place.

I liked this book and the concept, but there were times I was just confused. I think that was more of a me thing that on the book itself as the idea was since we were walking through the eyes of the main character we knew just as much as she did and she didn’t know anything about Earth or the world she had come from. The beginning also felt very slow for me. I did like the conflict that came up about mates and whether a human mate was actually possible. Would I read the next book? Maybe. I’m really intrigued now that I know more about the world.

Crossed, the first book in a new paranormal/fantasy trilogy, introduces Trinity Dawkins, who crosses between two parallel realms and lands in Berg, Minnesota, where she is rescued by reclusive artist Jayden Brown. At first Trinity is blind and has amnesia, but she slowly regains her sight and memory. Jayden is amused by her unfamiliarity with life on earth and voracious appetite, but when she sprouts wings, he is mystified. Their mutual attraction becomes an unbreakable bond, when Jayden touches a gold bracelet she wears and a brand is transferred onto his wrist. Then enemies from her world back home appear on Earth. Jayden does everything he can to protect the mysterious angel who has become his muse. Ultimately, they find other angels on Earth who help them in their quest to defeat Trinity's enemies and seal the opening between realms. The sequels Winged (January 23) and Clipped (May 17) will be released in 2023.

When Trinity is walking around the streets in a town in Minnesota blind and confused, Jayden finds her and takes her in. Her eye sight gradually comes back to her but her memory is still elusive. Jayden, an artist, tries to help her find out who she is and what happened. Trinity helps Jayden with his artistic block. There is just something strange about the scars on her back.
Opinion
I have looked forward to this book for quite a while. The premise of the book is a bit pat but the story itself is fascinating. I think the drama caused by Jayden's girlfriend will be perfect for the young adult reader. The draw to each other will also give that reader a thrill.
This book is the first in a new trilogy called Winged. I happened to have been a beta reader for the second book (without reading the first book beforehand.) Together, the books make a great combo and I cannot wait for the third to come out.
Many thanks to Lynn Rush and Net Galley for providing me with an ARC of this book.

Trinity's story in Crossed is Supernatural meets sweet romance. Trinity has been forced to run from the enemies in her realm and in her escape, stumbles into the arms of Jayden in Minnesota. Throughout the book, Trinity slowly regains her memory and begins to redefine what her life could have been, and what she wants it to be. I found myself wanting more from Trinity. I wanted to know more about who she was in her previous home. I love a strong female protagonist, and she certainly proved herself in the end. I wanted more world building and more moments between Jayden and Trinity. I am hoping the next book will give more information about Trinity's realm and continue to build the strong relationship between Trinity and Jayden, but also the incredible relationship Trinity has with her family. Much praise for Crossed!

I voluntarily read and reviewed a copy of this book, provided by Netgalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

When I first started reading, it was a bit heavy and confusing in the up front - but that's because it's world building, and you need to take into consideration that takes time. As the book went on, and more details were shared, the time flew by, and I read this book rather quickly. I used to read a lot of paranormal books, but paranormal romance is not in my normal rotation. This one is heavy on the mystery, and I wanted to get to the bottom of the mystery surrounding Trinity maybe more than Jayden did haha

Trinity literally drops down in the middle of the street, and she is saved by artist Jayden, who is not very open or honest with Trinity in the beginning, but I have to wonder if the confusion may have been Trinity's inability to, well, people. Trinity starts out blind with amnesia, pretty much, and her narrative could be flawed if taken straight. She doesn't understand slang or sarcasm, so she'd be so lost talking to me.

Jayden has a past, friends, and even a girlfriend, but that doesn't stop him from caring for Trinity when he finds her. He's lucky he has a great support system, and that this book is New Adult - it wouldn't have worked as a YA book haha! With help from his agent (he's an artist, remember?) and the agent's wife, Jayden is able to introduce Trinity to life to see if she can get her memories back. As they spend more time together, their feelings grow, and they realize they are meant to be together for some reason.

That's when Trinity's wings rip free from her shoulder blades.

The story slowly unfolds, but the romance is almost immediate for Trinity and Jayden. As he helps her piece together her life before they met, you can tell they are going to eventually have their happy ending, but it won't be easy because, well, it never is. By the time I got to the end, I wanted to go straight to the next book. But it's not out yet. And now I wait.
