Captivating romance kept me engaged all the way. Loved Drummond and Morven and their journey.
Overall, an enjoyable and well crafted story.

Description
Drummond Lathan has never wished for any form of the strange talents that curse his mother’s bloodline. Serving as his father’s advisor, negotiator, and second in command, his position as Lathan heir and his highly honed skill as a warrior garner him more than enough attention without the added burden of the hushed whispers his talented siblings have to bear.

Morven MacComas knows the destructive power of whispers. A year and a day after handfasting, her husband denied her and disappeared, leaving her disgraced and brokenhearted. When she discovered he also left her pregnant, she vowed that there would be but one love in her life—her child. Years later, even as she struggles to deny her attraction to the visiting Lathan heir, Morven fears his recent arrival is somehow linked to a daring daylight raid on her village. Along with cattle, reivers have taken her young son.

This was my first book by Ms Blair and it was an enjoyable read. The characters were likeable and the plot was fast moving. While this was the 3rd book in a spin off series it was easy to read as a stand-alone but I will go back and read the first 2 books in this series. Fans of Hannah Howell will find a familiar style in Ms Blair’s writing. Thanks to the author, publisher and Netgalley for this ARC

This was a story that captured my interest from start to end and I really enjoyed the characters and the plot itself. Fast paced with lots of danger and "heart in your mouth" moments, Drummond and Morven's story is one of the best I've read by Willa Blair.

Morven and her young son Rory are a true delight and I love how Drummond takes them to heart so quickly. Between the reivers stealing from her village and her son's father reappearing in her life and causing havoc, Drummond has quite the time trying to protect them. He's also coming to terms that maybe he DOES have special talents (healing powers) like his mother and sisters have.

Well written, intriguing and well worth the time to read.

I received an ARC of this book via NetGalley and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
