This book was absolutely adorable.

It's stated in the beginning of the book that this book is based on a tale from India called Jataka, "the angel of the forest draws the shape of the rabbit on the moon with her magic wand, to honor this rabbit for his courage and generosity."

Oscar the rabbit wants to go places, but after struggling to decide on WHAT place he eventually sees a rabbit on the moon and the story goes from there. The art in this book is sweet (the animals are lovely!), and the story is cute. I'm not familiar with the Jataka tale, but from the brief description they seem to go perfectly together!

I'd definitely recommend this as a little bedtime story for young children, and it's one I wouldn't even mind owning myself!

*I was given a copy of this title via NetGalley in return for an honest review.

I WANTED TO CRY that was so so cute!!! I didn’t want it to ever end. I’ll even admit I wanted Oscar to live on the Moon forever and maybe visit other planets. I loved this so so much!!

What a sweet story! Oscar never gave up on his dream to fly to the moon to visit the bunny he thinks lives there. As a teacher, I try to teach the importance of never giving up on your dreams. I think this story is a wonderful resource I will use for my toolbox. Cute illustrations are an added bonus. Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC.

This book is utterly charming. The simple illustrations paired with a sweet story of a rabbit who travels to the moon is enjoyable for young children and adults alike. It is a book that this grandma is happy to read again and again. If a children’s book ever had an “it factor” this one is it. Oscar Goes to the Moon could easily become a classic.

Oscar is an adventurous bunny. He decides that he wants to travel to visit someone. He thinks about different places and animals but none of them appeal to him. Then he looks up and sees a rabbit on the full moon. He decides to create a rocket ship to fly to the moon. While he is there, he finds the bunny on the moon. They have tea, talk and then he goes back home. He is now content since he completed his adventure. I wonder where he will go next?

This story is magical. The illustrations are beautifully vivid with a canvas texture and feel, using purple hues which illicit a sense of wonder. I enjoyed the storyline and the illustrations conveyed the text well. This book would be well received by infants and toddlers.

I received this book from the publisher free of charge with no expectation of a positive review.

This was such an adorable picture book! I'm jumping over the moon for Oscar; I want to be Oscar's friend now!
Adorable illustrations. This would be a fantastic book to gift for baby showers and kids' birthday parties. I will definitely be gifting this book to my cousin's baby this Christmas season!

My son and I loved this sweet story of Oscar, who just wants to befriend someone like him. The illustrations in this book were simple and beautiful. My son loved the bunny on the moon, and how Oscar found someone to play with. I thought the ending of Oscar's friends seeing both bunnies on the moon was a lovely detail.

Thank you to NetGalley and Ninewise Publishing for the review copy of this book. This was a very sweet story with loveable bunny characters, with a little bit of adventure and space exploration to go along with it! I imagine this story would spark a lot of conversations, both about real world events and even prompting kids to see what faces or figures they see in the moon- and beyond.

This is a sweet book about a bunny named Oscar who feels lonely on Earth and really wants to visit the moon. He tries very hard but walking there and climbing a tree to get there don't seem to work. When he eventually does make his way to the moon he meets a bunny and falls in love. The illustrations are really neat, they almost look like pastel on a textured paper or something like that. I could see using the illustrations as an introduction to an art lesson or for inspiration. I also love that the font is fairly large and easy to read, this is important for young readers. There are also only a few lines per page which will be great for beginning readers to not get too overwhelmed. I would recommend this book to parents and teachers of children in the age 3-8 range. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book!

Oscar never gives up on his dream to fly to the moon to visit the bunny he thinks lives there, despite all the times he fails. This persistence is a great model for children. The art was cute but simplistic. The ending leaves the reader wondering what happened to Oscar which could be a great conversation starter for children.

What a sweet little book! Oscar the bunny wants a new friend, so he builds a rocket ship and flies to the moon where he meets a moon bunny and has a tea party with his new friend.

Absolutely adorable, with sweet and whimsical illustrations, this book was quite a bit too young for my 5- and 7-year-olds, but I could definitely see it as a board book on a bookstore shelf next to Good Night Moon.

Very cute book! Would be great for a baby shower. Nice book to read for a nightly bedtime routine. I think it would work well for ages up to five. Will be buying this in paperback version to add to my children’s collection.

Very cute and charming! The drawings are simple but clean and easy to see. The colors are perfect and the use of beige negative space on some of the pages is lovely. Loved it.

This book is like a hug, warm and fuzzy. The illustrations are beautiful, the words are well chosen. I will definitely buy this book to read it to the kids in my class.

Oscar is an adorable story of adventure and friendship. I only have a few ideas for changes to suggest. The moon rabbit was not quite as blue as it could have been. Maybe that means changing the moon color but I feel for kids it would make more sense to have more blue. The only other complaint I have is that Oscar is adventurous and not afraid to reach for the stars, but is afraid of everything around him on earth. It could send the wrong message to move on to something else every time you’re afraid. Otherwise, the story was adorable and I definitely would read to my family or friends.

I read this story to my youngest, 4 year old daughter. This story captivated her attention as we learned about how this little bunny saw a friend in the moon and made a goal to get to the moon. Illustrations are imaginative and sweet

Over the moon for Oscar!!

New moms across the world will be asking for this book on their baby registries. I can even see a line of nursery designs and decorations with the Oscar Goes to the Moon theme. Adorable to the max!

A tale of little rabbit living here on earth, that sets a goal to meet a rabbit that lives on the moon. The illustrations are raw and simple, and yet they evoke such love and powerful emotions.
