Lauren Landish is a consistently great author for me. I particularly love how she writes her heroines: strong, sometimes quirky, feisty, badasses! And Hazel in THE WRONG BRIDESMAID is all of that and more! I fell in love with the ballsy, pool-hustling Hazel!

And the chemistry between Hazel and Wyatt was FIRE. Wyatt's dysfunctional family basically owns their town and reading as Wyatt found his own path and then stood up for what was right was sweetly satisfying!

The cast of small town characters in THE WRONG BRIDESMAID were fun and totally endearing! Definitely a high point!

And, good Lord, does this author ever bring the STEAM. And I loved ever word of it. All the well-written chemistry between Wyatt and Hazel makes their steamy scenes even better.

I really liked THE WRONG BRIDESMAID. Another great book by Lauren Landish that you should definitely read.

Small town romantic comedy, fun witty banter, drama, some steam, and great characters.

Years ago Wyatt Ford left his hometown of Cold Springs due to family expectations and a controlling uncle. The only reason he’s returning now is to attend his younger brother’s wedding. Immediately upon arrival, Wyatt notices some big changes at home and around town. What started out as a short trip back home becomes much more as Wyatt sets out to find answers and while doing so he becomes captivated with the made of honor Hazel Sullivan.

This was a fun read. There was never a dull moment in this small town romance full of witty banter and fun characters. This is my honest opinion, freely given.

A quick, fun romantic comedy that brings the expected Landish humor. It’s a small town, opposites attract romance that have sparks fly as they fight their attraction.I loved the banter and heart between our two main characters and I was glad they got their happily-ever-after.

I always love this author’s books but Hazel just might be my favorite character of hers. I loved her personality, her sass and confidence. Even though he is from ‘the wrong family’, the chemistry between Hazel and Wyatt is palpable. Full of small town charm, wit and of course romance, I really loved The Wrong Bridesmaid.

This was a very good book and the characters were great. Hazel Sullivan and her family of women are strong and you know where you stand with them from the very beginning. Wyatt Ford comes home for his brother's wedding and sees that there is already trouble brewing a different kind of trouble than when he left four years ago. But then his uncle is behind it and has dragged his father into the mix as well. Wyatt meets Hazel while she is beating someone at a game of pool then the two of the spar and she finds out later that he will be the best man at her friend's wedding. She works at avoiding him but it doesn’t go well because he is always searching her out and after a kiss, she feels hooked. She hopes he leaves after the wedding instead he stays and fights his uncle and father which adds fuel to the fire. This was a much better book than I was expecting and Lester her bird really made it work as well. Very much worth the read.

Quick and spicy, this wedding-themed romance is focused as much on the small town drama as it is on the love story. It's a slightly different vibe than Landish's usual, still heavy on the spice, but a little easier and more laidback than expected. Our couple has instant chemistry before the heroine realizes who she's flirting with, which causes plenty of sexual tension and some friction. The story moves very quickly in terms of relationship development, with the whole book taking course over the hero's trip home for his brother's wedding. It had HFN vs. HEA vibes for me (I was actually surprised when they said those three little words and cringed at the lack of BC convo), but I thought that the chemistry between the characters was obvious and engaging. I would've liked significantly more time with them on the page together - and a whole lot less town nonsense - but this is sure to be a win for those who like that small town, community feel. It ended up somewhere between three and fours stars for me - an easy, forgettable read that held my interest while reading, but failed to leave a lasting impression.

The story follows Wyatt, a guy who returns home for his brother's wedding. He comes from an affluent family in town, and his family's reputation has always preceded him in life - which is the main reason he decided to move away. Upon arriving in town, Wyatt meets a brash, sexy woman, and the attraction is immediate. Things seem to be going well until Hazel realizes who Wyatt is, which quickly puts a damper on the sparks that had been flying between them. As the two prepare for their roles in the wedding, they keep running into each other. And it soon becomes obvious that Hazel won't be able to resist Wyatt's charms. But he's only in town temporarily, so they both need to remind themselves that anything that happens is likely only a fling.

I always know that I'm in for a light, playful, and super steamy read when I open one of Landish's books, and that is definitely the case here as well. It's short and sexy, with a low angst feel and plenty of heat. The banter and chemistry is the major win, and Wyatt is also very easy to like. I loved that he was willing to explore his feelings for Hazel, and it was clear that he also fell first. There are some definite instalove vibes going on, which was almost necessary given the short timeline of the book. I personally would've swapped out a bunch of the town stuff in favor of more time with Hazel and Wyatt, because I really liked them together and I was not emotionally invested in any of the small town craziness. But some readers may enjoy that aspect more, and the book is short enough that it never felt like it was dragging. Overall, it's not one of my favorites from the author, but it did make for a spicy, lighthearted read.

Audio note: The audio is great! Teddy Hamilton is one of my favorite narrators, so I loved hearing his voice for this one. And C.J. Bloom always does a great job too, so the combination worked for me. It's dual narration with a runtime that's short enough to binge in a single day, though I wouldn't recommend listening at the office. Not only is there plenty of heat, but the townsfolk also have a lot of... personality... so there were a whole lot of inappropriate moments. The low angst, easygoing feel is ideal for the audio format though, so it makes for a great listen. I've got no complaints about the audio, and it probably made it easier for me to get invested in the romance. I ended up switching back and forth from text and audio, which was super easy to do.

A fun rom com romp with a lot of family drama and some serious steamy bedroom aerobics to delight and entertain! A fun twist on the Romeo and Juliet storyline or more like Hatfield's and McCoy's story with the added fun of a romance between the sides. Add in a salty talking parrot and the laughter just doesn't stop! I love being able to disengage from the world and get lost in a bit of raunchy laughter for a few hours, it's just what you need sometimes to forget about the world and its issues!

Wyatt has been away from home too long and would love nothing more than to keep it that way. When he gets a wedding invitation to his younger brothers wedding he has to go back to him hometown. He left for a reason and hasn’t stepped back there since. Now with him back in town his is really confabulation all the signs and stuff about his uncle Jed. When he goes to a bar with his brother after arriving back to town he see Hazel for the first time. Wyatt can’t get over her mouthy replies or her beautiful looks. Hazel wants nothing to do with a Ford family member, except for Wyatt’s brother, who is marring her best friend Avery. As Wyatt makes it known that he likes Hazel, she starts to fall for him. Will they be able to survive all of the turmoil in town which affects them all? I was given a copy of this book through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

The Wrong Bridesmaid by Lauren Landish is the story of Wyatt and Hazel. Wyatt Ford left Cold Springs his home town along with his brother Winston and sister Wren. But now in their present day Winston is getting married to Avery and Wyatt has returned to be the best man. The Ford family has a substantial pull in their town. Winston happens to meet a waitress named Hazel who is the total opposite of him and his family. Of course they seem to have a spark between the two but they also seem to have rubbed each other the wrong way. Then he happens to meet her at his brother's wedding because she is Avery’s Maid of Honor and this starts their story. Enjoyed

I went into this book completely blind, liking the sound of the premise but not having heard of Landish before, and I have to say this felt a bit underwhelming overall. The cover isn't what I normally go for with romances, and maybe I should've known it wouldn't necessarily be my cup of tea. It wasn't a bad book by any means, as I thought the writing was strong, but I didn't immediately warm to the romance between Hazel and Wyatt, the protagonists, like I normally do. I also found it quite hard to keep track of all the secondary characters, with the multiple siblings and bridesmaids and town members, which isn't something I usually struggle with, but it made me find it hard to really get into the story. I enjoyed the whole town rezoning drama more than the scenes surrounding the wedding, to be honest, and found the ending to that way more satisfying than how Hazel and Wyatt's story ended.

This Hatfield and McCoy-esque story was a fun read with some laugh out loud moments. I loved Lester, the talking parrot, and Grandpa Jo! Both MC’s were sympathetic characters. Hazel’s sassiness was a good compliment to the calm and level-headedness of Wyatt. While I read an uncorrected proof, a star did get knocked off my rating because of the incorrect use of I/me. This is a pet peeve of mine. One or two errors is usually overlooked, but more than that .really irritates me. Otherwise an entertaining, light hearted read.

Unfortunately, I couldn't really connect with this one. It started pretty slowly, laying out deep family drama that felt heavy for the genre. I didn't actively dislike Wyatt or Hazel, but had trouble getting invested in their lives or their relationship. Aside from physical chemistry, I couldn't really see what brought them together or why they cared about each other. I understand Hazel and her friends/family were meant to be a bit rough around the edges, but sometimes they crossed the line from charming to crude. There were moments of humor, and an enjoyable amount of steam, so I wouldn't' discourage anyone from picking this up if it appeals to them, but it wasn't for me.

I really enjoyed reading this! It’s a small-town, slow burn rom com and it was sweet and spicy all in one. I read it in one sitting and enjoyed myself from start to finish. I would definitely recommend to romance readers.

Wyatt Ford left Cold Springs the first chance he got to get away from his family's name. Now when he receives a request from his brother Winston to be his best man in his wedding, he knows he has to do the right thing and stand by his brother. While in town Wyatt heads to Puss N Boots for a drink with his brother....it's the only place their Uncle Jed would never go in. Playing pool is the girl of his dreams and she quickly gets his attention. Hazel Sullivan is one tough chick and doesn't take crap from anyone. When Wyatt puts himself into a confrontation of some guy and Hazel, she is not happy. When Hazel finds out who Wyatt actually is she is pissed! When Wyatt realizes why Hazel hates the Ford name so much, he decides to help out her side of the battle regarding his uncle's development plans. Of course the more time these two spend together, they quickly are falling in lust until the next thing they know it just might be love. Hazel's only problem is she thinks Wyatt is going to leave town as soon as their battle is over. In the end Wyatt surprises everyone and gives Hazel her perfect happy ever after!

I just adored this steamy wedding story! Wyatt and Hazel were two perfect characters and even better together! I loved Hazel's family and her bird Lester....he was a hoot! Overall this was a great read that I highly recommend!

Wyatt Ford is the oldest of three siblings. He has a brother, Winston, and a sister, Wren. They family home is Cold Springs. His father is mayor of the town and is on the city council. His mother is president of the Junior League and past head of the PTA The family home is huge and the name Ford is very big in this town.

Wyatt moved away some time ago but has agreed to return to be his brother’s best man as he marries a local girl named Avery. As Wyatt returns to some of the local diners and bars, he meets a waitress named Hazel who is also a crack pool player with a dirty mouth.

We see the players in the wedding going through all of the preparations as they lead up to the big day. Yes, Hazel is Avery’s Maid of Honor.

Well, this book had a good plot to start with, but in my opinion, it was ruined by the profanity everywhere that was so unnecessary. Why did the author think she had to stuff this book with such ugly language? I’m certainly not a prude and have even used a few of these words myself on occasion. I’m just disappointed that a potentially good book was ruined by this.
