Wyatt and Hazel's story has epic town protests, tantalizing banter, and finding love where you'd least expect it.

Wyatt is intrigued with the beautiful and brazen Hazel. I love that he opens up about his past and is vulnerable first. He goes from counting down the time to be able to leave his hometown, to wanting to stay. He's a hardworking and caring man. Hazel doesn't want anything to do with Wyatt because he's a Ford. Luckily, she eventually sees past his last name to the man he really is. She speaks her mind and isn't afraid of confrontation. I love her snark and sass!

Their relationship obviously starts out a little difficult, but it's so entertaining to watch them fall for each other! Then throw in their families, the townspeople, and a hilarious dirty talking parrot, and we have romcom gold!

I received an ARC for an honest review.

The Wrong Bridesmaid is a standalone rom-com by Lauren Landish. Told from POV with a HEA

Tropes:
✔️ small town
✔️ enemies to lovers (ish)

Lauren Landish is a new to me author who I’d love to read more of. The Wrong Bridesmaid was fun, sexy and entertaining. Although it took a while to for me to get into their inta-love romance, Hazel and Wyatt’s relationship was well developed from their meet-cute to their HEA.

Hazel and Wyatt complement each other well. I loved her bad@$$ness. Their banter and attraction was delightful, but I think Lester the parrot totally stole the show. He had me in stitches.

When Wyatt found himself at odds with his ambitious and affluent family he couldn't leave his home town fast enough however he couldn't say no when his brother asked him to come for his wedding. His family's plans for the town has inspired the wrath of the people who live there and he finds himself on the receiving end as well especially when it comes to Hazel.

Hazel is feisty, fiery and isn't shy when it comes to letting Wyatt know her opinion of his family and what they are planning. She also happens to the be the best friend of the woman his brother is marrying so keeping her distance is more difficult than she imagined. As they spend time together the sparks fly and she begins to realize that there is much more to the man than she thought.

Humorous interactions, intriguing characters and a great cast of secondary characters will keep you
entertained as you watch the romance between Wyatt and Hazel unfold.

QOTD: Have you ever been a bridesmaid?
My A: Nope, and I never hope to be, but my HUSBAND was a bridesman last month.
.
As my first Lauren Landish romance, I had no idea what to expect writing wise. After reading and loving this one, I hopped on Kindle and was VERY happy to see she has a ton of books for me to binge now. Is there anything better than a new to you author with a backlog of books to read?!
.
This book was impossible to put down. I spent an entire Sunday afternoon smashing through this, loving the banter, the angst that was Uncle Jed and the steamy chemistry! I really liked the pacing of this and I’ve already downloaded three of LL’s other books. I’m not sure how I made it this long without out reading her work, but don’t make the same mistake I did! Her books are FREE on KU and worth the read!

BLURB:
Wyatt Ford hightailed it out of Cold Springs to get away from his influential family and the unwanted privilege that came with it. Returning for his brother’s wedding dredges up every reason he left. One unexpected bright spot: a curvy knockout who slings burgers, hustles pool…and hates the last name Ford.

Hazel Sullivan is fiercely independent and happy to be maid of honor for her best friend’s wedding, but she isn’t looking for romance. Especially not with a man whose family is dividing her town into a battleground with their development plans. Fighting the family is easy. Fighting Wyatt? Not so much. Why does the enemy have to be so drop-dead gorgeous?

The sparks that fly between Hazel and Wyatt might start out as combat, but one kiss and it’s total surrender. How is a happy ever after even possible for two people with so little in common? Except, of course, for an overwhelming attraction and that growing temptation to say “I do” themselves.

When Wyatt returns to his small town for his brother’s wedding after being away for many years without any contact, he’s not sure what he is walking into. He left to make it on his own and to get away from all that is associated with his last name, Ford. Tensions are high in the small town and most don’t like him due to his last name, especially one woman, Hazel. The Ford family has been a curse to her family but now her best friend, Avery, is marrying Wyatt’s brother, Winston, and he has proven himself to be a good man despite his name. Now Wyatt has his sights set on her and she tries to put a stop to the attraction between them….will she succeed.
A good read with plenty of humour and laugh out loud moments, along with steam and great characters made it hard to put down. The story flowed nicely but I kept wondering if I was missing a book that had Winston and Avery as the main couple. I did like the no over the top drama between them and how easily they fit together.

Wyatt and Hazels story was super cute and I loved the banter between these two! Neither wanted the connection and chemistry but couldn’t help it. I adored Wyatt and loved how deep he held what was important to him

The story of Wyatt and Hazel. From feuding families do they stand a chance at being together? I like how it was told from both points of view.

**Thank you to Lauren Landish, Montlake Publishing, and NetGalley for allowing me to read an ARC of The Wrong Bridesmaid in exchange for a honest review.** This book was such a fun romp! The plotline of this was honestly very unexpected. It honestly defied my expectations and I had so much fun reading it. I really enjoyed how much we were able to learn about other characters in the town. At first I thought this book was going to be very straightforward and it wouldn't show much of the lives outside of the main characters. Honestly we were able to see the lives of so many different people and I really enjoyed it. This was definitely a book that you don't want to miss!

Wyatt and Hazel were perfect together, and I loved all of the employees at the Puss N Boots Bar & Grill. Charlene was so entertaining! This is the first book that I've read by Lauren Landish and I really enjoyed it. I look forward to reading more of her books.

POV: Dual
Spice: 🌶 🌶 🌶

This book was such a fun, feel good read that left me with a big smile on my face! As is typical with a Lauren Landish book, there are so many lovable (and hilarious) characters with their own stories going on, that I became invested in so much more than just Wyatt and Hazel’s romance. In fact, I became invested with saving an entire small town and I really loved that part of the book.

Wyatt and Hazel fall for each other pretty quickly and as a rule that doesn’t bother me in books and it definitely didn’t in this one either because I felt like they got to know each other well. Some may call Hazel a little crazy, but I call her my spirit animal and maybe she is a little crazy but in the best of ways! I loved how the more serious Wyatt loved all that about her.

While there is maybe a little less spice than some of the authors other books, there is still a good amount and it’s also mostly angst free! I loved everyone in this book except for about two bad guys, but I love Lester the dirty mouthed parrot the most!

This was a cute and easy read that had some dramatic and funny moments. While there were some serious issues (like a big bad developer trying to cheat his way to some small town land), there were plenty of light hearted moments too from a naughty mouth bird and blunt and honest grandpa. And with the bit of spice and tension of enemies to lovers, this story is enjoyable.

Hazel is all that...

Wyatt Ford is no sooner reluctantly back in town when he runs smack dab into Hazel Sullivan. She's fiery, hot, smart and yes, all that, and a bag of chips, too. I adored Hazel, the sultry, wisecracking waitress with a mean game of pool. Wyatt is instantly smitten but there are obstacles. Like his whole Ford family (including his uncle Jed) and the divide between the town and the subdivision. A steamy, fun, frolick.
Recommend.

It started off a bit cutesy...not bad...just not overwhelming...but it got so much better as we started to get into the nitty gritty of the town, the characters and the underlying issues with Wyatt, his Dad, his uncle and others. There were some amazing characters that I loved like Grandpa Joe and Etta as well as the town as a whole coming together to protect each other and their way of life. In the end, I truly enjoyed the story!

Wyatt knows that Hazel is the right bridesmaid!

Wyatt Ford never expected to return to Cold Springs but his younger brother is getting married and he said please. So Wyatt had come home to be the best man for his brother Winston’s wedding with Avery but his interest wasn’t in the changes in Cold Spring but in the maid of honor Hazel Sullivan that he ended up not walking down the aisle. Wyatt knew that Hazel’s family wasn’t fond of the Ford family especially his uncle Jed but that is why Wyatt has to prove himself to Hazel and the rest of Cold Springs.

You need to read The Wrong Bridesmaid is you want a funny small town romance where everybody seems to know your name or everything about your family especially where the skeletons are buried.

P.S. I would love a story about Wren or Jesse!

The Wrong Bridesmaid is a fun, lighthearted contemporary romance. Wyatt is home for his brothers wedding, which is his for time home since he left for college. Upon entering Cold Springs the vibe is a bit different, namely the billboards that are against his Uncle Jed. At first Wyatt wants nothing to do with whats happening outside of his brother's wedding, but he gets entangled with Hazel, the granddaughter of Uncle Jed's ex-fiance, and that starts the investigation ball rolling.

The investigation and what is happening with the town is second to the romance between Wyatt and Hazel, but it really added to the story. I loved getting to know the other townsfolk and see them band together. Hazel and Wyatt are a cute match - their banter is excellent.

If you're looking for a light, fun, feel good read, this one is for you.

Lauren Landish has easily become one of my favorite, if not my favorite, contemporary romance author. She continuously writes sweet romantic relationships with spice, inner turmoil, and a wonderful happily ever after.

I got her new book as an ARC and I loved it once again.

Wyatt is the oldest Ford in Cold Springs. He left town a few years ago and never looked back. Hazel is born in raised in Cold Springs and has never left. Her mom runs the local bakery and her aunt runs the local watering hole.

Hazel's family, like most of the other locals, hate the Ford family due to Jed. He is the local developer and all he cares about is how he can own everyone and make money. While this might be great for him, it is running the small town that is Cold Springs.

What Wyatt comes back into town for his brothers wedding his entire life changes. He goes to Puss N Boots, the local watering hole and runs into this spitfire of a woman, Hazel. Hazel keeps having conflicting feelings because he's a Ford. Fords are not a family she wants to get involved with, but after the wedding she finally gives in. And let's just say there are fireworks. Literally.

This story had a perfect amount of plot, family turmoil, spice..., funny comments from Lester (Hazel's bird), and personal growth. I will continue to read probably everything this author puts out because she always writes a fun read.

Wyatt Ford left Cold Springs to get away from his entitled manipulative family. He thought nothing could make him return until he gets a wedding invitation from his little brother asking him to please come. On arriving back in his hometown, he discovers things have changed. Townspeople are protesting in the street, his father the mayor is drunk on a weekday, and the name Ford is spoken more as an expletive than his last name. His uncle Jed and his plan to rezone farmland to build a new housing development are behind most of the trouble. At the head of the protest is Etta Sullivan, Jed's ex-fiance and owner of Puss and Boots tavern where Wyatt falls for a sassy pool shark that happens to be Etta's niece. Hazel is charmed and attracted by this handsome stranger until she learns he's one of "them". But as maid of honor to his best man they're forced together and the more time she spends with him she realizes he's not like the rest of his family. But Cold Springs is her home and he'll never stay.
I fell in love with this small town with its quirky characters and close-knit community vibe. I could see this becoming a series with so many interesting characters and plotlines to develop. I loved Hazel's sass and how much fun banter she had with Wyatt. And the parrot...omg I laughed so hard!!
