This was such a cute book. Wyatt and Hazel are so funny. I love Hazel’s spunk and sass. Wyatt is all alpha with a huge heart. The writing is witty and highly sarcastic. I loved it. It’s a great summer read. I laughed out loud a lot. There are a lot of hilarious side characters. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced free copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. I received a copy from the publisher through NetGalley.

Loved this one!! It was a super fun and quick read for me. I love Lauren's books and this one was no exception. I loved the small town setting and loved Hazel and Wyatt's Chemistry!

Loved reading the engaging and enthralling story by the exceptional author, Lauren Landish. When Wyatt Ford returns to town for his brother's wedding, he meets a beautiful, saucy woman, Hazel, finds his dad in a drunken stupor, and discovers the town's hatred for his ruthless and conniving Uncle Jed. Hazel wants nothing to do with someone whose last name is Ford, but Wyatt continues to pursue Hazel. Read the highly recommended, wonderfully written, full of romance and intrigue, and a must read love story.

Hazel and her family are hardworking people who tell it like it is in the town of Cold Springs. The Ford family has been in charge of Cold Springs for many years. When Wyatt comes back for his brother’s wedding, he can’t believe how angry the town is at his uncle, and also his father, the mayor. I loved the chemistry between these two and the witty and spicy repartee. I hope there’s a book about Wyatt’s sister, Wren! I’d love to revisit these characters and town!

Lauren Landish writes some seriously laugh-out-loud romantic comedies - and this is definitely no exception. Even though this book has some serious moments and tackles some very serious topics - it is still light and fun. Wyatt left his small hometown and his locally famous family after his first year of college. Since that time he hasn't really talked to them or visited. In fact, most of him family had no idea where he was. When he gets his brother's wedding invite in the mail with a heartfelt note asking him to please come home for the wedding, he can't refuse. As soon as Wyatt gets to town he finds that there is something bad going on within the town - and that his family is at the heart of the matter.

Hazel is he bride's best friend. She is devoted to her mom and aunt - and helps work their businesses. She's tough and takes no prisoners in her life. She loves her friend and would do anything for her - even be in her wedding to a man from the Ford family. Hazel and Wyatt spark off each other immediately - this causes Hazel to want to run in the opposite direction. But Wyatt chases her and its clear they are a really good match, even with their very different backgrounds.

I liked that the level of relationship angst in this book is very low. Which is a good thing - because the family dynamics and town drama is really more than enough! The relationship between Hazel and Wyatt does move lightning fast - but it totally works.

Overall - I highly recommend!

I received this as an ARC via Netgalley, but these opinions are all my own.

This book had some lag for me at times and I almost didn’t finish it. Though I am glad I stuck with it as it did have some good stops and ended well. I love when stories center around families even in the worst cases.

I enjoyed this book, but felt there could have been more the story than just the enemies-to-lovers aspect between Wyatt and Hazel. Wyatt's back in town for his brother's wedding and having to deal with attractive bridesmaid Hazel, who can't stand him and catching up on all that his family has been going through since he left. The beginning started out slowly, but I did enjoy the ending with the "bad" family member getting caught. As much as I enjoyed Wyatt and Hazel together, didn't seem plausible that after running away Wyatt would return and just not go back to his previous life at all. The ending felt very Hallmark-movie like ending - quickly wrapped in a pretty bow.

I liked this book. The characters were interesting. I like romances that also have a plot outside of the romance. I definitely wanted to know more about Wren because she was one dimensional. She’s not the focus of the story, but she was involved enough to be more developed. Maybe the author will write another book focusing on Wren and Jesse. I think the cursing which I normally like was there more for shock value than the plot or character development. The author used the word growled so much that I began picturing a grizzly bear ready to attack everytime I read the word.

Wyatt Ford left his hometown of Cold Springs to get away from the pressure of being "a Ford." He found success for himself in a town a little ways away, never coming back to Cold Springs until he received a wedding invitation from his brother.

Hazel Sullivan only knows Cold Springs. Her family runs two successful small businesses in the town and she works hard at both of them. Her best friend Avery is marrying Winston Ford, and while she doesn't love that he's "a Ford," Hazel does love to see him make her friend happy.

Wyatt and Hazel meet at her family's bar and she's not quite ready to give him a chance because of his last name. Wyatt, however, is able to show her that he's more than just the family he was born into. Together with their friends and the support of the community, will they be able to overcome the power of the Ford name and take on Wyatt's manipulative uncle before he ruins Cold Springs?

I gave this book 4 out of 5 stars because it has a great small town feel and likeable characters, but overall it felt pretty predictable, like this story has been told before. This plot didn't bring anything new or exciting to this trope. I found myself picking up the book to say I made progress, not because I couldn't wait to see what happened next.

I am a huge fan of Lauren Landish so I was so excited to get the opportunity to give an ARC review of her latest book! Wyatt is the black sheep of his family and begrudgingly returns home for his brother’s wedding. His plan to leave town immediately after the nuptials is ruined the minute he meets the maid of honor, Hazel. Problem is, Hazel hates Wyatt’s family and everything they stand for, considering Wyatt’s uncle is trying to expand and commercialize their small hometown. Can Wyatt manage to survive his family and prove to Hazel he’s nothing like his uncle?

I’ll start off by being honest about not liking the type of character Hazel was in the book. I love strong, brash heroines and I love a good crude joke but I’ve never been a fan of crass and this story has it in spades. That being said, it’s a fun story and I liked Wyatt and the crazy cast of characters. It will be many’s cup of tea, it’s just not mine.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This is a solid enemies to lovers drama with the quirks that I love in a small town romance. I struggled with these characters and connected with them even though it was well written. Mainly for me, Wyatt was quick to move his life to be with Hazel which I loved, but it didn't really feel realistic. The "bad guy" was also not my favorite and I felt like he could have been more/added more to the story. Its' definitely a fun read to pick up and I really enjoyed the secondary characters and the banter throughout!

3.5-4 stars

Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for an advanced copy of this book in return for an honest review.

The Wrong Bridesmaid is an easy to read, enjoyable romance. Initially I found it a bit hard to get in to but once I did it was an enjoyable read. There is a fun romance between the two main characters with enough input and family drama from the supporting characters to keep the book interesting. I particularly enjoyed the character of Grandpa Joe.

Would recommend to anyone looking for an easy small town romance

Thank you Netgalley Montlake for providing me with an ARC.

The Wrong Bridesmaid starts off strong with a compelling introduction to Wyatt and Hazel. Told from dual points of view you get to see inside both their heads. I loved the banter between these two and the slow burn build-up. The first 60% of this book flew by and then it fizzled a bit. Still, it was a solid 3 and 1/2 I had been thinking 4 stars up until that 60% mark.

If you like
- Weddings
- Small Town dramas
- Enemies to Lovers contemporary style.
- Strong Female Leads.
- Some good mid-level spice
Then this is the book for you.

Spoilers:
The writing was strong and engaging, I think the main problem that I had was the fact that Wyatt had a whole life in another town and just decided to leave it all and stay with Hazel or had no intention of going back anytime soon. I guess that is the perks of having a family with money however Wyatt was written in such a way that it seemed unrealistic that his life outside of cold springs was unimportant or something that he was willing to just move on from after a week or two,

I really wanted to love this book, but it was really hard for me to get into. I wasn't really a fan of the amount of small town politics and family dysfunction in the book. I did however like the main characters and their interactions. Overall, while this book wasn't my favorite by this author I would recommend others to give it a try.

I liked the premise of this book: Wyatt comes back to his town for his brother's wedding and meets Hazel, the bride's best friend. There's conflict, angst due to the family he comes from, but there's also chemistry. I didn't find Hazel to be very likable. She's supposed to be strong, but she's more aggressive than strong, so I hard a hard time believing the instant attraction to her. The story is well written, with humorous moments and good dialogue, so I would definitely check out other books in this series with other characters.
