This was an enjoyable story about a black sheep returning to the fold, and a battle between developers and locals, with a romance storyline running alongside this. I enjoyed the whole story, but felt the romance scenes could’ve done without the explicit sex scenes, and so for this reason I wouldn’t recommend it as I would otherwise

I really enjoyed this book overall. There was some really good humor (The parrot!) and a compelling backstory with Wyatt being the black sheep of a well established "founding fathers" kind of family. He comes back to attend his brother's wedding and finds out that his family is being looked upon poorly because of some things his evil Uncle Jed is doing. The romance was good- it didn't feel as combustible as I expect from Lauren Landish books- and the chemistry felt a little off. But overall, an enjoyable story and I look forward to the other books in this world. Thanks to NetGalley, the author and publisher for an early read.

I absolutely adored this book by Lauren Landish. Thank you NetGalley for an advanced copy. This book takes us on a ride from the first meeting of Hazel and Wyatt to their HEA. I loved the way that Ms. Landish had the bad guy/s really in the periphery of the book. I would not have thought that I would like the angst of a book to be so subtle, but it really worked in this book, While it is there almost always throughout the book, no one gets crazy because of it This book was well written and thought out. Author totally delivered. I admit I immediately went to Amazon to search and look for other books by this author. That is how good this is. 5 stars.

I really enjoyed this one. It had a little bit of everything. Wyatt and Hazel were complete opposites, yet their sexual attraction meant they were absolute dynamite together, in and out of the bedroom. Wyatt Ford returns home for his brother's wedding only to be completely blindsided by the bride's best friend Hazel. She is not what he expected and yet her disdain for who his family is, fuels him to want to make a change for not only himself but the town he grew up in as well. There is small town politics, family drama and lots of laughs along the way. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Small Town Gem

Mix humor, enemies to lovers in a small town, and you have me immediately hooked. Wyatt Ford did not want all the pomp and circumstance of being in a family where outside appearances are important. He left Cold Springs to not get sucked into the lifestyle. He does however return as his brother is getting married. He despises having to come back home at all, but to top it off he finds his family is in shambles.

On a positive note, he meets Hazel Sullivan. She is spicy, gorgeous and has no filter. He finds her refreshing. As always Lauren Landish makes me LOL all during this story. There is steam, humor and a sprinkle of uncertainty that will captivate you throughout Wyatt and Hazel's journey to a HEA.

F*cking Ford!

Gah! Another fantastic read by Lauren.

I was so sucked into this book. I don't even know where to start with this review.

You have the Ford siblings, Wyatt, Winston and Wren. Wyatt left town awhile ago to get away from everyone's expectations of him. Winston is getting married and asked Wyatt to "please" come home for his wedding. Ugh, he had to use the word please.

Wyatt and Winston go to lunch together and Wyatt hears a fight about to break out and whoa, who is that hot chick? Yup, Hazel.

You have the greedy Uncle Jed trying to have some land rezoned so that he can continue to make his money and screw everyone else over. Bill Ford, Wyatt's dad, is the mayor and seems to be going along with what his brother wants.

How bad do you think things are going to get? Loaded question.

I just love Lauren's side characters like Hazel's Aunt Etta and her co-worker/bestie Charlene. Tay-Tay, Jessie and the cops and you get the picture. Too many fun people to mention.

High Five Lauren. Another 10 star read!!

The Wrong Bridesmaid by Lauren Landish is an opposites attract, small-town, romance with just the right amount of town drama, LOL moments, witty banter, off-the-charts chemistry, suspense, unexpected twists, and steam.

I volunteered to review an advance reader copy of this book.

Thank you to Netgally and the publisher for the opportunity to read this book. All thoughts about my own. Wyatt Ford is coming home for his brothers wedding. The Fords are well known in this town. Hazel meets Wyatt at the wedding as she is the maid of honor. Honestly this book started off fine but then all the cussing and crudeness, I was turned off and couldn't wait to finish this book. Makes me so sad because I thought I have a new favorite author.

An enemies to lovers (ish), small town romance. I loved everything about this story. The setting, the characters, the storyline, and of course the small town feel. Wyatt Ford discovers that a lot has changed since he hightailed it out of Cold Springs without finishing college. Now he’s back for his brother’s wedding and it appears that his family are now pariahs in town. All thanks to his Uncle Jed, who it seems has become an evil overlord with visions of grandeur, he has no thoughts of the townsfolk and how his plans will affect them. Unfortunately on his return, Wyatt is tarred with the same brush, and he finds he’s having to prove himself to the townsfolk, one in particular, Hazel Sullivan, his sister in law to be’s best friend, and the one person that Wyatt wants to see him for who he really is. Hazel is most definitely a feisty one, and sparks fly, both in and out of the bedroom. Opposites most definitely attract. I loved their witty banter, and their blatant honesty. A refreshing, entertaining and completely addictive fun romance. Cold Springs is definitely the kind of town I’d love to visit, love the camaraderie and love the townsfolk. Highly recommend.

4*
Wyatt has returned home for his brother Winstons wedding not expecting the minefield he's coming into.
Hazel has always avoided the Ford family after the incident between her aunt Etta & his uncle Jed.
When the wedding puts them in close proximity they are drawn together.
A decision has to be made but will family come before the whole town?

3 Stars I need to remember not to judge a book by its cover (literally) because when I saw the cover of The Wrong Bridesmaid by Lauren Landish, I would’ve have guessed that it was a sweet enemies-to-lovers romance with plenty of small town familial and political intrigue. Going in with some preconceived notions, I was pleasantly surprised by this book and really enjoyed the story and the characters, especially Hazel. Hazel was hilarious and what I love to see in a female MC—strong, independent, and doesn’t change who she is for the guy. I did like that even though she was prejudiced against the Fords because of her family’s history with them, she gave Wyatt the chance to prove himself and how he was different from the rest of his family. Definitely recommend this cute and easy read!

4 wrong stars ☆

Returning to his hometown wasn't high on Wyatt Ford's priority list, however, his little brother was getting married and he was supposed to be the best man. Going back to his childhood home and facing everybody and everything that he left behind two years ago, was something he had to do. Falling for one of the bridesmaids was not.

Hazel Sullivan was not keen to the Ford last name, even though her best friend was marrying one (she'd made an exception with Winston, being blind with love for her BFF) however, she's not going to go down the same path. Her family already has bad blood with one Ford, she's not going to let history repeat itself. Little does she know that fate has other plans: with the wedding just a few days away, thrown down into proximity with Wyatt and finding out there's so much more layers to this hot, moody stranger guy than what meets the eye, are just a few things Hazel will have to face. Also, a threat to their hometown by one of Wyatt's family members is going to be a deal breaker. Will Wyatt stay and fight? Not just for the townspeople but for Hazel and their future or will he go away when things get tough?

This story has its surprises: at first glance I didn't notice the complexity of the characters, their motives for behaving the way they're and the influences and expectations they have to deal with. However, as we move forward, everything starts to flow and you get caught up in the story and the characters' dynamics. It's funny, witty and steamy, with a little sass and just enough sizzling attraction between Wayne and Hazel that will make the room buzz with electricity and a little warmer. So grab your comfy chair, stay hydrated and strap in for the ride, because it's bumpy and a little twisty with a lot of laughs and hot moments, that will make you root for the characters until the end.

She had his eye from the start. She can think she was the wrong bridesmaid but he had every intention to show her just how wrong she is. These two were great, she changed him in ways he didn't even realize he needed. She may have wanted to be his enemy but he was never going to let that happen.

This is a good book. The two main characters are Hazel and Wyatt. Hazel is in a wedding for her best friend, Wyatt comes to town for his brother. There is an instant attraction. There is trouble brewing in town over a zoning issue, everyone in town has an opinion. Wyatt’s uncle is the developer and Wyatt’s dad is the mayor. Many of the town people do not want the development. But together Hazel and Wyatt shoot the development down and fall in love.

This HEA is set in a small town where you may not know/remember everybody but you know someone who knows them or knows of them. It’s easy to see that the rumors going around may have some grain of truth but you definitely have to be careful what and who you believe. In this love story both Wyatt and Hazel have to work through their own misconceptions. It’s hard to out run your past and even harder to come to terms when what you were running from might have been different that what you thought. It was great to watch the characters grow (not just Hazel and Wyatt). I absolutely loved how some of the characters were so outspoken/outrageous while everyone else just thought it was “normal”. To me and my friends it probably wouldn’t be so shocking but I can see some people that might find it that way. I was laughing and smiling a lot as I read this one. I think it’s a great easy read that will have you wanting to find out how the story ends. Sometimes you need a good escape and this one gave me exactly what I was looking for.

This was a laugh out loud read that keeps you on your toes. A foul-mouthed parrot, a bakery and bar with toe curling eats, named for seduction. An attraction that should never be, and the name Ford that doesn't refer to the automobile. I so enjoyed this book, Lauren is amazingly skilled with drawing the reader in with words, bringing the story to life in the imagination.
