Aunt Charlotte decides that she is moving to Colorado and leaving her Tabitha and Ellie Mae to run the B and B. She doesn't like goodbyes so she is gone when the girls arrive. The cousins have no clue what to do but Aunt Charlotte talks to them every day and helps them figure things out.

The girls are getting the place ready for an awful storm that is coming. Hurricane Deliah should be there in a few days. As the girls are boarding up the windows and getting ready they receive a phone call from Aunt Charlotte letting them know that there are four Seniors from the Assisted Living Center that had no place to go so they will be coming to the B and B to ride out the storm.

When the Seniors arrive it appears that there may be a storm inside as well as out. It's a great story that I think you will enjoy. I could not put it down.

If you're in the mood for a family drama with summery/beach themes then this is a good one. Nice story but nothing over the top. I love summer books so this was a nice one.

This is an inviting novel about down-home comfort and second chances. I liked the characterization and the plot progression and pacing was really good. In fact, I believe that the pacing and storytelling are the two things that made this book such a huge hit.

Two cousins making new lives taking over an old b and b that has been in the family for generations. Add four octagonarianes a hurricane and the local handyman.
Family ties, bigotry and love all abound to make a heart warming story.
Enjoy, i did.

⭐⭐⭐⭐
The Sandcastle Hurricaine, Carolyn Brown
November 8, 2022, Montlake

Thank you @netgalley and @montlake for the #ARC in exchange for an honest review.

The Sandcastle Hurricaine is wonderful in the way that a Hallmark movie is wonderful. It is like a warm hug when you need it most. It is a book read knowing that everything will turn out okay for the characters in the end.

This is the story of cousins Tabby and Ellie Mae, who are more like siblings, both being only children. The pair has just taken over the family B&B when a Hurricaine is threatening to pummel their Texas community. The pair takes in residents of a local Senior home and a local handy man (you can see where this is going) to ride out the storm. This unlikely group learns about one another and themselves as they work through the storm and all of life's storms.

A wonderful read and highly reccomended.

This is such a lovely story. This book is saturated in emotion and angst. Tabby has had the greatest loss anyone can have. Ellie Mae has also suffered a great loss. The women are cousins and their parents are rather toxic. I just loved the secondary nursing home characters. They added so much depth to the story. Even the animals brought meaning to the storyline. The writing had so much heart to it. I enjoyed this book a great deal. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced free copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. I received a copy from the publisher through NetGalley.

Carolyn Brown!! I loved this story! Deeply and well-developed characters, I hated to say goodbye. What begins as a story about the often-overwhelming situations, the deep loss of family members gone quickly and far too soon, a divorce, long overdue, horribly generational conniving parents, seniors in need of shelter from a hurricane, with nowhere else to go, and difficult times life hands down. A story of unlikely coming together, the creation of a true family, far better than the ones connected by blood. I did not want this book to end, and I am ever hopeful our dear Carolyn will give us a second book

This is another great read by Carolyn Brown with strong characters and a heart warming story.
This focuses on two cousins who are working at their aunts bed and breakfast. A hurricane warning has been issued and it is on its way. As they try to get things ready a local handy man shows up who always help when a hurricane comes along and they are delighted to have help.
They're going to learn that some people from a near by assisted-living facility did not evacuate because they had no where to go, so now they've been brought to the B&B to shelter.
This is an assortment of eclectic personalities that are finding a way to get along and maybe become friends. But what happens once the hurricane passes, what damage has been done to the town, where does everyone go now?

This is a lovely story that I know you'll enjoy, especially is you've ever read anything by Ms. Brown.

I really enjoyed this book! The characters were so well written. The story was fairly simple, and highly unlikely imo, but such a pleasant read. I think I read it in two days it was such a good read! I loved each of the characters. I could imagine myself at the B&B.

Thank you NetGalley for this ARC.

As both a lover of the beach and a resident of southern Louisiana, Sandcastle Hurricane includes many of the elements that comes with the landfall and aftermath of a Hurricane. Oftentimes, nursing homes are evacuated; trees are stripped of limbs, uprooted, or snapped in half; power goes out and power lines go down; shingles fly off rooftops; windows break from flying debris; homes are swept from their foundations; and rebuilding and recovery are slow processes.
Add to the challenge of dealing with a Hurricane and it’s aftermath , loss, grief, and unacceptance, as well as a cast of varied and lively characters, and you have the workings of a book that will get you through any season of the year.

The Sandcastle Hurricane is about Tabby and Ellie Mae who are cousins. The have inherited their Aunt Charlotte’s beachfront B&B. They open their doors (even though it’s not open) to four seniors and the handyman who used to help their Aunt. The four seniors are characters and have a lot to say. You will enjoy their interactions with each other and the humor. There is also forgiveness, life lessons and love. An enjoyable read from one of my favorite authors. Thank you to NetGalley and Montlake for the E-ARC. This is my own opinion.

The Sandcastle Hurricane was a delightful story.
Carolyn Brown is a favorite of mime and I'll read anything she writes.
She knows how to write a good women's fiction/romance story.
And it shows with this one.
The story was sweet, hopeful and very enjoyable.
All of the characters are very interesting and believable, so much so that I felt as if I've known them for a long time.
They were so likeable & engaging, the plotline was so unique I loved every minute of this, Carolyn brown knows how to grab the attention of the reader, I could not put this book down.
I loved being in Sandcastle, Texas with this amazing group of people.
This story pulled me in immediately and I didn't want to leave.
Another well written, beautiful story full of love, compassion, family and second chances.

Thanks Netgalley for allowing me to read this book. Tabby and ger cousin are helping out at their families hotel in Texas. When a hurricane comes through, there is substantial damage to the area. The hotel was lucky, some businesses were not. The residents of the small Texas town came together to fix the town. I liked getting to know the residents of this small town.

The Sandcastle Hurricane by Carolyn Brown A quick summer read with enjoyable characters. There was quite a bit of thought repetition that was irritating. Thanks for the chance to read this book.

Tabby and Ellie Mae sound like cats, but no, they are cousins who are running a beachfront B&B inherited from their aunt, and dealing with their grief. When a hurricane is barreling toward the area, they shelter four senior citizens. Two are sisters who have been feuding for a lifetime, and the other pair are veterans who fought in the Vietnam War together. Added to the mix are a handyman and his partner, providing some romantic tension. All of the characters have issues they are dealing with and this is thoughtful, heart-warming tale.

Cousins Tabby and Ellie Mae take over their aunt's bed and breakfast after their lives need a change. There is a lot of drama in this story, and it drags a bit - repeats the girls problems a lot and slows down the storyline. There is a hurricane and the girls end up hosting four senior citizens for the duration and all kinds of chaos ensues.

The characters are well developed and entertaining, especially Cleo. A thread of wisdom from Aunt Charlotte weaves through all their stories and connects everyone. It's a sweet, easy read.

Thank you to NetGalley, the author and publisher for a temporary, digital ARC in return for my review.

The Sandcastle Hurricane is a wonderful book filled with wisdom gained from someone having lived a long time. A disparate group brought together by a hurricane end up as the very best kind of family…one chosen from the heart. Two cousins inherit a B&B from their favorite aunt that provides shelter from the storm for a couple of old Vietnam veterans and two feuding sisters all refugees from a retirement home. These six all have personal tragedies to overcome that continue to impact their current situations. Ms. Brown tackles racial prejudice, outmoded social mores, and gut-wrenching loss with humor, tenderness and deep insight as each character struggles to find the open door, the silver lining or perhaps the pot of gold at the end of their own rainbow. This is a book not to be missed. I voluntarily reviewed an advance copy of this book from NetGalley. Most highly recommend.
