This book is part of a series and really needs to be read in order. Again I really struggled with the rating for the book. I'm writing this review awhile after reading it and I had forgotten the story. For something to rate high with me it needs to stick out in my memory. I read a lot.

I did enjoy the story, it builds on the last book and we get a better picture of Thea and her family dynamics. The author has certainly created an entertaining read but there is nothing to make it stand out from the crowd.

I received an arc of this book via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Goblins, witches and weres oh my. A fascinating read that will pull you in straight away. I have not read the first book in the series, but will do so post haste as I must get the background of these characters. I so look forward to the next installment.

Dragons - shifters - magic - and a vengeful ghost all make for a fun and fast read. Add in clan wars and a fight club or two and you have quite the mix. A fun read, great for the beach or weekend.

I am absolutely addicted to this series. I can't wait for more! I was surprised all over again when book 2 delivered as much if not more enjoyment than book 1 for me!

Thea is a hard working family outcast who is just trying to do what's right. What happens to be right in this story? A number of magical kids are getting struck down with a curse after seemingly unconnected events. It even impacts her mysterious dragon shifter friend's clan, which means Thea is obviously taking this unpaid gig. Throw in some politics, traumatic deaths, attacks, and as much mayhem as one book can contain and you've got a couple days in the life of Thea Grove.

A real highlight of this book was the slow burn between Thea and Marcus. No, we don't get the smut I may be used to, but it is really great to see Thea navigate the "normal" world outside her family's influence, while trying to reconcile her past. As her confidence grows, I can't wait to see what battles she wins next. Oh, and who doesn't love a cat as a main character?

This story is steamy and seductive with a healthy dose of action to keep you coming back for more. I am in love with this series, and can not wait for the third book.

This novel was a great sequel to the first novel in the series! There is a mystery to solve and more dangers that Thea will face, along with her friends and allies. Thea has worked hard to separate herself from her family, including working with the human police. She works as a bounty hunter but has been asked to take on an unusual case by her brother. At first, Thea has no intention of getting involved, but all that changes when other young shifters are suffering with the same symptoms. Thea teams up again with Marcus, who is trying to lay low and keep his own secrets. However, the situation escalates and Thea will need all the help she can get to stop this ancient evil from wrecking havoc once more.
I received this novel from net galley and the publisher as an ARC. Thank you! All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I adore paranormal stories and whenever I get the opportunity to read them I take it, this one didn’t work for me, but it might do for others who are invested in the series so far.
