I enjoyed going through this book-- the drawing instructions were easy to follow and the art style is very cute and appealing to both elementary and middle schoolers. Would purchase this book to add to my middle grade nonfiction.

Great ideas on getting people into drawing! I could see a lot of budding artists or people looking for a way to unwind picking this up. Was enjoyable to try and easy to follow.

This was a cute book that was fun to use with my nephew. I'm an artist and my nephew has gotten interested in drawing after seeing me do it consistently. He always asks to draw with me when he sees me drawing, but he gets frustrated that he can't draw the same things I'm able to draw. This book was a cute and simple way for him to understand the steps when it comes to drawing, and he smiles every time he's able to make his drawings look like the ones in the book.

How to Draw Adorable is a delightful book that is sure to make you smile. In fact, the subtitle of the book is “Joyful Lessons for Making Cute Art”. In addition to the book’s cover, the first page of the book is absolutely adorable - a drawing of the author Carli with a big smile and looking cute! Tipsey says she loves drawing cute art because it makes her smile as well as others. What better reason is there to draw cute!

In addition to drawing cuteness and explaining the nuts and bolts of how to do it, Tipsey discusses a key overall point - what is cuteness and what does the word actually mean. She identifies the elements that go into making a drawing adorable and shows the transformation of an original drawing into a cute one. She shows different facial expressions and poses that are key to a cute drawing. Not only does she go step-by-step through different elements and categories but there are also tips offered throughout the book. The overall categories are people, animals and inanimate objects.

How to Draw Adorable is a unique reference that belongs in anybody’s library that wants to learn to draw and draw cute. It’s great for beginners, whether young or old.

Thank you to Girl Friday Productions - Girl Friday Books and NetGalley for a temporary advance reader copy in exchange for my honest opinion.

🌟🌟🌟🌟

The characters are so frigging adorable and as hard as I tried, I just couldn't get them as cute as the ones in the book... so in the end I just ended up admiring the drawings lol.

Maybe, just maybe if I had the physical copy I could have traced when I had issues or something...

Trust me, it is more my lack of artistic talent versus the issue with the book...

I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Okay, this book was so helpful! I had so much fun trying to incorporate the tips and tricks mentioned in the book into my own style and I know it's going to take more practice to get really good, but I am already getting better. It's a well thought out and clearly structured tutorial designed to help anyone who wants to make characters cuter and I love it because it genuinely doesn't seem to matter what skill level you start at!

Art is something that I have pursed on and off in the last few years. How to Draw Adorable: Joyful Lessons for Making Cute Art by Carlianne Tipsey caught my eye when I was on a recent slow sling of creating art.

This is a fantastic book to learn to draw cute art! A lot of chapters focus on human drawing, expressions and emotions and the later chapters apply these concepts to animals and things. I liked this approach and also appreciated the depth in which the author described art, going from rough sketches to cleaner final versions. There are lots of examples and concepts to learn and the art in the book makes it a fun learning journey.

This book is definitely adorable.
It begins from the very start and teaches the very basics of holding the pencil and drawing lines.
Every concept is followed by a page or two to practice drawing what you've learned.
The drawings and art style was just so cute.
Highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys doodling and wants to learn how to draw some cute drawings.

Love the explanations and how it lays it out clearly on the page. Not too overwhelming, but perfect, even for the younger kids. AND i learned how to make things "cute." It's the little things, but having it explained also makes so much sense. How did I not know this before?! Great book and lots of fun.

Surprisingly for an artist this is my first time reviewing an art related book. But honestly, I love all the books with tips that teach you how to draw cute stuff. I own few of them and they are an absolute life saver for someone like me who has to make “cutsey” art every now and then but their usual art style couldn’t be more off. So you bet I studied this one like I’ll have an exam on it.

How to Draw Adorable is a workbook I would honestly recommend to everyone interested in drawing no matter the age. Because hey I’m 26 and I found it useful. I love the tips and examples. A+ for including advice on different facial expressions, poses, colours and shapes. Also this workbook covers wide range of things you can draw such as people, animals, plants, objects as well as giving you space for exercise. Loved it!

This is an extremely supportive book that goes into every one of the moves toward make your drawings look cuter. For example, bring down the highlights and make the eyes greater or the head greater in relation to the body, to make the person look more youthful. Tipsey has you take a shot at her recommendation ordinarily in the book. Her style isn't exactly mine and it would have been ideal to see different styles of lovable, however this is an extremely supportive, fun book.

How to Draw Adorable is such a fun book. It has plenty of tips and instructions to take your drawing to the next level while having fun. This is perfect for young artists and well just about anyone young at heart!

This book book is so helpful and easy to read. It is very well presented and easy to follow. The explanations are easily grasped and easy to practice.

I love the book starts with shapes which I honestly feel is less intimidating and then moves into applying those lessons to figures so it comes together very well. The book is geared towards beginners but honestly it has so many good foundations to work with even more experienced artists would like it. Win win for me I highly recommend it!
