So I'm not a great drawer but this book was super helpful! It was really easy to follow and all the designs are adorable. Definitely recommend for anyone advanced wanting to learn a new style or review the basics, or beginners who just want to draw cute things

Ok this book is ADORABLE (heart eyes emoji). I’m a professionally trained artist and still found this book super helpful at exactly what the title says: how to draw adorable. So many of these tips are things I’d never thought of, but am now using and like magic, my drawings have gotten a lot cuter. This book is totally accessible for a newbie too, I’m thinking of getting a copy for my ten year old niece who is also a conniseur of all things cute.

Do you want to make cute art?
Award-winning children’s book illustrator and artist Carlianne Tipsey is the creator of "How to Draw Adorable. Joyful Lessons for Making Cute Art", published by Girl Friday Productions (Girl Friday Books). Tipsey states as goal of the book: "In this book, I don’t want to teach you only one way to create cute art. I want you to understand what makes something cute, so that you can apply that understanding to your own style. But you won’t just learn all of my cute secrets, you’ll also find step-by-step tutorials, reference sheets, and plenty of space to practice. By the time you reach the end of this book, you’ll be making so much cute art that you’ll run out of fridge space to show it off!" (p. 10).
After the introduction Tipsey touches topics such as "the meaning of cuteness", "secrets of cuteness", "expressions", or "cute anythings" in ten chapters in the book. The drawings are cute and attractive. There are "Did you know?" info and "Tips" throughout the book and practice space to apply what was learned in the chapter. I found the portions of the body design and the reference list for cuties very valuable. I recommend the book for beginner and advanced artists who want to learn how to draw cute designs or learn how to improve them.
The complimentary copy of this book was provided by the publisher through NetGalley free of charge. I was under no obligation to offer a positive review. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Adorable is definitely the word for it.
This is a great how-to book with both detailed explanations walking you through the drawing process and also pages to encourage drawing them out. It doesn't just tell you how to draw something but how and why it works in an easy understandable way.

Such a fun, light and super easy to follow guide to learn how to draw- and to find your own style. I loved that there weren't any strict guidelines and everything is meant to give you ideas, tips and tricks on creating what YOU think is cute and what our eyes generally gravitate towards that is appealing. Lots of practice spaces, tracing, guides on many ways to achieve whatever look you're going for.

My only complaint is that I ALMOST stopped reading in the beginning because it was too heavily centered on babies - I could turn it into a drinking game and be intoxicated before I was even halfway through. I would've loved a smaller focus on human babies specifically because I feel it will limit your target audience- BUT, the rest of the book was less baby-centered and I'm glad I stuck with it!

Students at my library often like checking out our very dated how to draw titles. This book will be a welcomed addition to our collections. I think this title with its explanations and exercises will appeal to many students.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher, Girl Friday Productions, for providing a free, review copy of "How to Draw Adorable" in exchange for my honest review. I honestly thought it was an adorable, and effective, guide for learning how to draw adorable!

I loved this book. I've tried a few "how to" books on drawing "cute' things before, but this one is a bit different. It breaks down the elements that makes something "cute" and re-inforces those lessons with some drawing worksheets.

I recieved an eBook version of the book, so unfortunately, I couldn't copy or print out those worksheets. But, I worked through some of those exercise and was able to draw some cute little drawings. And I had fun doing it.

I highly recommend this book for beginners who'd like to draw cute things. It's lots of fun.

Super cute book with cute illustrations to teach readers (with very little drawing skills) how to "draw cute." Everything shown is cute. And the book gives a workbook style space for reachers to practice to make notes. I am not very good at drawing, but I feel like l can do it now! I will be purchasing a finished copy.r

This is a fun, informative, easy to follow guide to drawing everything cute. How to Draw Adorable is suitable for anyone interested in creating cute art, even if they aren’t confident in their drawing skills. The highlight of the book for me is the “why” behind the instructions. This book clearly explains how to tweak a realistic drawing into something cute by showing how to change, shift, or scale features to be cuter. With the popularity of manga, anime, and cutesy characters, this book will be a hit in my library. Can’t wait to add copies to our shelves.

Thank you to Girl Friday and Net Galley for a free digital preview copy in exchange for an honest review.

My daughter loved this. She is 13 and working on her digital art skills. This broke it down, so that she was able to follow it fairly easy.

Is it redundant to say this book is cute? Because it certainly is. It’s a good mixture of basic drawing techniques for beginner artists, and breaking down what it means for something to be cute visually and how to produce cuteness in your own art. There are a lot of exercise and practice pages throughout, too. I think this would be an especially great introduction to drawing for anyone who wants to work on a children’s picture book, as the style presented here is very reminiscent of that.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC.

This book is so fun! I still think it’s far past my skill level, but the author made it all look so easy! They also put step by step instructions and also created little sections for “practice time” which was pretty neat.

I especially loved the section with cute ghosts! This would be a fun book for anyone.

This is an extensive collection of how to draw cute people, animals, and even inanimate objects! There is a huge amount of content in this book including different facial expressions and poses (just to name a few). There are a variety of different ways to draw something that's "cute" and really make the art your own. Thank you to NetGallery for this ARC.

Such a cute and useful book for little drawings, I can't wait to put all I've learned into practice. I've been trying to learn how to do illustrations for a few months now and I think this will be super helpful.

The explanations are simple, concise, and with many examples to illustrate it. I thoroughly recommend it if you want to start illustrating or want to get better at it, but definitely a book for beginners! Definitely would be a great book for children but I think some adults/teenagers could like it too!!
