What an intriguing read this proved to be,
Filled with family dramas, deceit, danger and mystery.
The sort of story that keeps you guessing all the way
And has so many surprise twists come in to play!

Assumptions I made at the story's start
Were, before long, just blown apart!
As for that last reveal at the end - wow!!
I didn't see that coming anyhow!

This is a psychological thriller that's truly a gripping read,
A page turner story that was enthralling indeed.
For my complementary copy, I say thank you,
As I share with you this, my honest review

Gosh, I love a good psychological thriller and A Perfect Stranger is a marvellous one! It’s gripping from the first page and will leave you hooked for more. Shalini Boland does that to you. She has a way with words that twists your mind and grabs it with full force leaving you sucked in!

A Perfect Stranger is told via a dual narrative theme from the perspectives of Emily and Dani. Emily is married to Aiden and they have a young child. Money is tight for them causing Aiden to worry, Emily doesn’t realise how much trouble they are in until one day Aiden tells her they must leave their lives are in danger and they need new identities.

Dani is married to Marcus who runs a luxury car business. They have no money troubles, and all they want is a family. Dani is desperate for a child. But lately, Marcus hasn’t been himself and is acting rather strangely.

What is the connection between the two couples? Well, Aiden works for Marcus! I won’t spoil any more of the storyline for you, you must buy it and read it for yourself! Highly recommended!

This book was a page turner with great characters. There is nothing I dont like in this book. These characters are people you can connect with and will have you flipping through those pages.

Another thrilling read from the author. Her books always move along at a good pace and are so readable and this one was no exception.

I was disappointed in this novel, not finding it or the characters and situations believable. And a story that was not as memorable is it could have been. The main characters were unsympathetic and the villains unbelievable. I have enjoyed several of the author's other thrillers.

Lots of twists and turns make this very enjoyable! I really like this author and the characters she creates. It had been both guessing among the way and thoroughly engaged!

Thanks to #netgalley for the ARC in exchange for a fair and honest review. Another fantastic thriller from this author. Emily is married to Aiden, has a son, and is pregnant with their second child, she thinks they are happy and content but Aiden has been acting a little strange lately. Her feelings change when Aiden tells her a secret he’s been trying to deal with…one that will have dangerous consequences. Meanwhile, Dani is married to Marcus, Aiden’s boss at a car dealership. Rich and living the fabulous life, she has everything she could ever want. Then, Marcus starts acting out of character. What is he hiding? What she finds out is something she would never suspect. I was gripped from the start with this book and I couldn't devour it quickly enough. I enjoyed the multiple POV and found it hard to put down. Yet again Shalini holds me captive with her writing. #netgalley #aperfectstranger #shaliniboland #goodreads#litsy#thestorygraph #amazonaustralia #bookqueen #bookstagram #thriller

This psych thriller is a combination of taut scenes, complex characters and “omg, what did I just read” moments. Even as the reader has to suspend disbelief just a bit, it is not hard to do so because the entertainment level is so high. In other words, you’re not going to get a lot of depth, but you’re going to get a page-turning and engaging psych thriller if you just roll with it. The story is told in alternating chapters, going back and forth between Emily and Dani’s points of view. As with other aspects already mentioned, it takes a while to figure out how they are connected. The author wisely drops some red herrings along with some legit clues as well. I got this book from #NetGalley in exchange for my honest review. This book was okay because it did entertain, but there were things that didn't seem to fit the characters that happened. This was my first book by this author.

This was a decent thriller with a twist ending I did not see coming. However, some parts felt a little too rushed and unbelievable. Like the fact that Emily and Aidan moved 30 minutes away from their hometown expecting to get away from their “demons”.

Some parts of the book jumped to the future, and I would have liked to have went through some of the events. For example, Dani’s meeting with the private investigator. But I guess that was one twist the author wanted to saved for the end, which I understand.

All in all, a decent quick read.

Another great story from the marvellous Shalini Boland.

Emily and Aiden are happy, Aiden is doing well as a car salesman at a local garage selling prestigious high value cars and Emily enjoys her job as receptionist at the local doctor’s surgery. They are managing to make a nice life for themselves and for their young son and their new impending baby. But then Aiden starts to act strangely and eventually he reveals a huge secret which he has been keeping from Emily. Following this they are forced to leave everything they know and love behind to start a new life in secret and what they perceive as safety. But is it that easy to leave the life they know and the danger behind?! In the meantime, Dani and Marcus are happy newlyweds, Marcus owns the garage Aiden works for and make sure his wife Dani wants for nothing however when he suddenly starts becoming secretive and furtive Dani worries and starts to look a bit closer at Marcus, who exactly is the man that she married in such a rush? And more importantly can she trust him?

What a story! I was instantly captured by the prologue, and it definitely whet my appetite for what was to come. By 12% into the story, I was hooked, and I love the way that Shalini Boland tempts you with just enough information to make you curious but at the same time cleverly not giving anything away that she doesn’t want the reader to know just yet. I really felt for Dani and know exactly how she felt yearning for what she so desperately wanted….. but I shall say no more as this is a spoiler free review! The end was a total sucker punch, I was gobsmacked and did not see that twist coming – just brilliant!

Overall, I would definitely recommend this for any fans of psychological thrillers. Shalini Boland is a gift that keeps on giving and I can’t wait to read her next book!

Thank you to NetGalley, Shalini Boland and Bookouture for my advanced reading copy. Out now.

Unfortunately, I have been locked out of my netgalley account for a few months and was not able to see which books I had on my list or even know to check if they downloaded properly, in order to properly read and review. I do apologize and am doing a 3 for neutral. Will update once I’m able to obtain a copy and read!

This is another winner from Shalini Boland. Dani is married to Marcus who owns a car sales room. They live a life of luxury but have been trying for a baby for three years. Emily is married to Aiden, who works for Marcus. They have a three year old son and are expecting their second child. On the night of Aiden’s birthday party he confesses that he is in big trouble and they need to pack their bags and leave at once as their lives could be in danger. This is a the story of these two women, their marriages and the secrets and lies they are all keeping. The book has a gripping plot with great characters and is a highly recommended read.
Thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book.

I loved every moment of this book, the usual twists and turns that shalini throws in, along with secrets I didn't want to put the book down.

As always, Shalini Boland has written another captivating thriller that kept me on the edge of my seat and sent me off it with a shocking ending. I did not see the final twist coming at all and thought it really added to the story. Many authors will be lazy and not come up with a final twist to shock readers and instead will let them feel cozy in the ending, but not Shalini - she makes sure to leave one last shocking reveal so you're left thinking about the book. This was a quick read but I really enjoyed the characters and found the story very entertaining and intriguing. Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for this ARC in exchange for an honest review
