This was yet another great book by Shalini Boland. I've read a few of her books and each one has kept me wanting more until the very end. She does a great job of keeping the story moving at a good pace, even in times where a book would normally slow down a little.
This book is full of twists and surprises. The multiple POVs were interesting to follow and great to see how they came together. Loved the plot and characters. Definitely a book I would recommend to anyone who loves thrillers, mysteries, and a not-so-easy to guess ending to a book.

I loved seeing how Dani and Emily's stories came together at the end. And the mysterious POV strown throughout was a good touch.
I kind of wish the prologue wouldn't have mentioned the names of the characters, because it made it too easy to see it coming once Emily started talking about their new names several chapters earlier than his death.
The first twist in the book was terrific, I did not see it coming. However, the second twist on the last few pages was an even bigger shock.
I like how Shalini Boland always leaves the book with a little bit of an open-ended ending. I like that we'll never know for sure if Emily decides to tell Dani about the affair or if she just decides to keep it to herself. I like that we may never know for sure what goes down between the two now that they will be living together, but that we get to come up with our own idea of what happens.

This is a story of two families Danny is married to Marcus a successful businessman the only thing missing from their marriage is a child.

Emily is married to Aiden and they have a young son Josh. Emily is pregnant with her second child. On the night she throws a party for her husband‘s birthday she begins to realise things are wrong with her marriage.

Aiden is not so thrilled to have the party neither is he happy with his birthday present. Emily must discover what it is that Aidan is hiding from her. As a result their lives are thrown into turmoil they must go on the run.

We begin to discover more about the two couples but how are they connected.

Shalani Boland has once again pulled a cracker out the hat. She really knows how to tell a tale with a damn good twist at the end. Many thanks to net galley and the publisher for the opportunity to see ARC

I'm A big Boland fan but this one was a bit of a mixed bag. I'm still not really sure what was wrong or right. It just felt messy, confusing . . . Not my favorite and by the end I wasn't entirely sure what I'd read.

I can’t tell you how good this book is without spoiling it. So best described as twisty, full of secrets, dread, fear and foreboding. It was so good I stayed up late to finish it. Good book!

Never disappointed in Boland books. Again got this one from Netgalley ... soon to be released on July 11th .....put it on your TBR list now. Two families - Emily (pregnant) and Aidan with their son Josh; Dani (unable to get pregnant) and Marcus.....Aidan is heavy in debt to the wrong people and we find ourselves going back and forth between these two families.

Cant say more or I will give the story away, but there is a twist at the end I did not see coming or even had an inkling about. Sometimes you never know who your friends are and what your believe is not so. A great read....as all her books are! #fivestars #netgalley

Shalini Boland never fails to entertain and surprise us! With smooth, fluid writing this is a really good read. Everyone has secrets, right? Well all the characters here have lots of them and we get to discover them a bit at a time all the way to the shocking end!

Many thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for this ARC!

A Perfect Stranger is a fast paced psychological thriller with the biggest twist, which made my jaw literally drop!!

Emily and her husband, Aidan, have a son and are expecting another, but are forced to leave their town, their work and their lives to escape from the dangers arising from their secrets.

Dani is desperate for a baby, and her husband, Marcus, is eager to give her everything she wants, as he always has with his extreme wealth... but he's becoming distant with new friends, and Dani less of a priority.

This book is told from different POVs, and we see into Emily and Dani's struggles, marriage issues and lives. Both are likeable in their own ways and also have their flaws.

This book is full of big reveals and had me desperate to keep reading - the type where you must know what happens next and why.

An easy 5 stars from me, with the ending just leaving me stunned! Definitely recommend this for those who love well written, fast paced psychological thrillers.

Thank you to Netgalley, the author and the publisher for providing an advance copy of the book in exchange for my honest review.

Upon rereading the blurb, if one pays close attention it contains a huge spoiler! I'm glad I had forgotten it and mention of David in it.

My only gripe with this book was one chapter repeated the start and seemed to have done so verbatim. I did not think it was necessary and I skimmed over those pages.

Such a gripping, fast paced, page turner. Shalini also creates chaaracters that feel real i cant say to much without giving spoilers but this is a must read for anyone who loves psychological or domestic thrillers.

Thanks Netgalley and Bookouture

all thoughts and opinions are my own and arent influenced by anyone else.

Thank you Bookouture and NetGalley for an early copy of A Perfect Stranger. I get so excited when I see a new Shalini Boland novel out. This was a fast read but I have to say I didn’t love it. I really didn’t like the plot or ending. The characters were not likable and I was disappointed that I just wanted it to end.

What a crazy read. Twists and turns and each page bring new terror. A family on the run, hiding from an unknown fate. Amazingly detailed characters that you come to feel like you know. Simultaneous story lines that run parallel till they intersect in the most explosive finale. Terror and darkness and suspense galore!

What a gripping page-turner this thriller is that kept me on the edge of my seat from start to finish! Emily and Aiden are expecting their second baby and are having financial problems which escalate when Aiden gets hooked on gambling online. Aiden sells high-end cars and Marcus Baines is his boss. The story is told from the POVs of Danielle "Dani" Barnes and EmilyGraham. There are lots of twists and turns in this story with an ending that I never saw coming.

Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture for the ARC of this very suspenseful read which I highly recommend.

Okay Shalini Boland 👏🏽 👏🏽 👏🏽 BRAVO!!! I was nearing the end of this book and I was satisfied with it and had found it entertaining enough. The only downside was I had guessed the link from the beginning. Well jokes on me! I got to the end and was through for a complete loop. It was so good! Thank you so much to netgalley and the publisher for this ARC!

A perfectly, twisted story-right up to the very end!
Shalini Boland’s tale starts with a mysterious death and goes straight into dual points of view from two women’s lives. Throughout the book, it feels like watching tv, waiting for commercial breaks, to find out the twists as she leaves you hanging in suspense. Some “commercials” leave you shaking your head in confusion or slightly lost, but overall a quick and suspenseful read. A+ on a great ending!

Thank you to the author, NetGalley, and Bookouture for giving me the chance to read this advanced copy in exchange for my honest review.

This gripped me right from the start, and I flew through it wanting to know how that prologue tied in with the two main characters.
We are following two women, Emily and Dani, as they navigate problems in their marriages. We have no idea how these two women are related other than one’s husband works for the other. Apart from that, they couldn’t be more different. One is counting the pennies and expecting her second child. The other lives a life of luxury but can’t have the one thing she yearns for the most, a baby.
The story progresses, and everything starts to weave together very cleverly. I did guess how the prologue came into play and how the characters in that were relevant to the bigger story. However, it still had me on the edge of my seat more because of it. I think knowing the ‘ending’ made me propel through it faster to see how it would all unravel. It was all very shocking and well worth the read.
This is a fast-paced book and the perfect psychological thriller. It keeps you guessing; there is plenty of intrigue and not too many characters to keep track of. I wouldn’t say the characters were overly exciting, but they served the story’s purpose.
A solid four-star read and just what I needed after having read some not-so-great psych thrillers lately!

I have loved each and every book by this author and this one was no different! When a husband gets himself into a situation with online gambling, how will he end the situation. I did find a few of the aspects of the story to be a little far fetched, and I think there was not a lot of substance in a few places, but overall there are new twists and turns that you will not expect.

Will Shalini Boland ever wrote a book that won't shock me with the ending? I keep thinking she will, but she just keeps knocking them out of the park!

Wow, just WOW! another brilliant read from Shalini Boland, such an intelligent and talented author!
I am always gripped by her books right from page 1 and this one is every bit as fabulous as all the others I have read, I'm always in awe of how she comes up with such amazing storylines with such deliciously twisty and unexpected endings!
I was stunned by how this book unfolded, really didn't see the last page coming and also did not expect the characters to develop as they did. I dont want to spoil this fantastic book by giving anything away, so just read it, you wont be sorry! I would give it 6 stars if I could.

Another well-written and smartly plotted book by Shalini Boland! The lives of two couples get intertwined more than they would like. Is the perfect husband as perfect as everyone thinks he is? Of course not, but it is much more complicated than just "normal" shady businesses or an affair.

This book is filled with twists and turns, and I could not put it down. In the beginning I was a bit annoyed by the very privileged people living lavish lives, but luckily the book was not really about that at all. Money is most certainly an important part of the book, but relations between humans is still the key.
