4.5 stars!
I really enjoyed continuing Annie’s story in this second book of the series. I do recommend reading the first book “Edge of Dusk” to fully understand what’s going on in the story. As with most other books by this author, it’s non-stop action from the beginning with a lot of mystery and suspense and the big question of “who is Taylor” is finally answered. Highly recommend this book!

I received an arc from NetGalley and this is my honest opinion.
At first It was hard getting into this book but all the details come together for a very unique mystery.
Jon and Annie are trying to figure out how to tell Kylie Jon is her father but a mystery and Annie’s long lost sister prevents the truth from coming out right away.
Little Kylie has been through so much and Jon poses a threat to her daddy she knew growing up.
Hang on for the ride because not only is there a family dynamic occurring but a mystery involving a missing woman.

Dark of Night integrates several mysterious occurrences as family and professional lives intertwine in this exciting novel. Through many twists and turns the light finally shines for Annie, Kylie, and Jon. College Coble knows how to keep the interest fire burning.

Dark of Night by Colleen Coble is a hunt for the truth and how to reveal the truth. With plenty of twists and turns for mystery readers, Coble takes her readers for a ride. The plot is mysterious and different than previous novels I have seen from her. This time around the forest takes a place in the setting. Much happens in these dark woods in Michigan. It appears that the mystery of her sister and the missing lady are the biggest element, but there are a couple different twists thrown in for a surprise. The heroine, Annie, again still has to come to turns with a couple of major issues that could affect her and her daughter's lives. With deep hurt and distrust, Annie still fights the urge to trust others when it comes to her future. The romance between her and Jon seems to be moving forward, but Annie stays a little distant because of what it would mean to her daughter. Overall, Dark of Night by Colleen Coble has enough suspense and action to keep readers who love their story always on the move, like me, interested, but just enough drama to focus on the changing characters and their lives.

I received a complimentary copy of Dark of Night by Colleen Coble from Thomas Nelson Publishing, but the opinions stated are all my own.

Dark of Night is book 2 in the Annie Pederson series by Colleen Coble.
This book starts where the first one left off. And just like the first one, it's a good book.

Ready enjoying this series. DIdn't want to put it down and hated to see it end.

Dark of Night is the second book in the series returning us to Rock Harbor; and just like the first one this one is soooooo good. The story has intrigue, romance and of course a little suspense. Is Sarah really Anne’s sister? Is Jon Kiley’s biological dad? Who took Kiley and what happened to the hiker – so many questions. Read this one to find all the answers.
Thanks NetGallery for the ARC.

I've read many books by Colleen Coble and have enjoyed them all. This one was no different. Fast paced, and easy to follow along with characters I've come to know and love. Her books grab you and keep you wanting to read more. I highly recommend this book.

My thoughts: DARK OF NIGHT is the second book of this series by Colleen Coble and fans will want to read the books in order as the series tie together. I didn't like Taylor much but I rooted for the rest of the main characters. I loved the little puppy Annie has and it was nice to see the search and rescue dogs in action. There were some untied strings so I'm hoping there will be a third book. If you like romantic suspense (heavier on the suspense than the romance) you will love this book. I love that it was set up in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, one of my favorite vacation spots. I was given a copy free, and all opinions are my own.

This the second book in the Annie Peterson novel series. I have yet to be disappointed in a book by Colleen Coble and this book was no exception. It is filled with intrigue and lots of suspense. All the characters and surroundings are described so explicitly that you feel you are right there also. It is easy to imagine what is going through the minds of these people. Although this second book in the series can be read as a stand-alone book I suggest reading the first book in the series prior to this one. In some cases it will be easier to understand what brought these people to this story. There are no sex scenes or even innuendo and the characters have a strong belief in God. I received an arc of this book from NetGalley and the publisher. All opinions expressed are my own.

I'm discovering that Colleen Coble doesn't just include one mystery per book--no, her books each include several different plot lines with intersecting threads of mystery. And sometimes, you don't get all the answers in one book--you have to keep reading the series to find out what really happened!

With that in mind, you'll definitely want to read Edge of Dusk before you read Dark of Night, since the second starts right where the first left off. While one of Annie's big questions was answered at the end of book one, she's left with yet another life-changing DNA test to wait for.

There are lots of plot threads in this book, but Annie's relationship with Jon is the focus. And they have a lot to navigate!

I thought this book was less "creepy" than the first in the series though not entirely on the "cozy" side.

Now that I've read the whole Rock Harbor series, I think that the Annie Pederson series showcases the author's growth as a writer. But I still enjoyed having the history of Rock Harbor fresh in mind as I read this second book in the new series set there.

Great conclusion to this duology. Lots of action as the characters search for a missing person while trying to figure out who is trying to kill Jon and Annie and why. There's also navigating the stickiness of romance with a child involved. Then dealing with possibly finding a lost sister who seems bent on revenge. Lots of action. It had me going to the end.

Dark of Night is the second book in the Annie Pederson series and it was just as thrilling as book one. Colleen Coble's books are always page turners and this doesn't disappoint. I'm rooting for Annie and Jon, they deserve an HEA. There are lots of loose ends that leave me counting down the days for the next book. A not to be missed Christian Suspense novel!

I didn't realize this was the second book in a series until after I started reading it. Despite not having read the first book yet, I didn't feel lost or confused by this book's story line. The author does a good job of giving enough information to fill in a clueless ready like myself about the characters' backstories.

That said, I enjoyed this book and look forward to going back and reading the first book to learn more about Annie and Jon and the other characters. Colleen Coble hit the pacing perfectly with this book. I wish there were a couple of red herrings, something that kept me guessing and trying to figure out who was behind everything. There's really not a suspect named until the very end, and by then you're pretty sure that's who is behind it all. Even still, the suspense was decent and thrilling.

I really enjoyed this newest suspense novel by Colleen Coble, but I think I might have been a little lost about what was going on if I hadn't read the other book in the series. Annie and daughter Kylie face some new challenges and more danger as Annie's lost sister comes back into the picture and Jon finds his place in his little family once again. The suspense is just right and the characters are well-developed. Another satisfying read by a wonderful author.

This author never fails to keep the reader's attention. She had me turning the pages as fast as I could in order to find out what would happen in the story. I loved continuing to follow the story of Jon and Annie and the possibility of Annie's sister being back in the picture. I can't wait to read the next book in the series.

Dark of Night continues the story of Annie Pederson confronting her past with a side-plot of a different mystery to solve.

Things are going well with Annie and Jon, but Kylie and Jon's father know nothing about the revelation they discovered in the last book. Annie is struggling with the idea that Taylor is really her long-lost sister. She's happy Sarah is alive, sure, but Annie always imagined that things would be different if/when she found her sister.

On top of all that drama, there is a woman who is missing. Is this disappearance somehow connected to Sean and the previous mystery? Or is it totally unrelated?

There are some good twists and turns in this book and while we do wrap up one storyline, another is yet to be resolved so I'm hoping there is at least one more book.

Dark of Night returns us to Rock Harbor and the continuing story of ranger Annie Pederson. Annie is waiting to see if the woman who tricked her in the first book is really her sister Sarah and if her daughter Kylie will learn to love her biological father Jon as much as Annie. While she has these challenges, a woman has gone missing and Annie needs to help find her, along with Kylie who ends up missing.
There are many storylines in Dark Of Night, including health concerns with beloved Rock Harbor characters. Sometimes the many different storylines make it hard for me to follow the plot, but Coble has written another great suspense.

Colleen Cobble has been a favorite for a while and this book didn’t change that one bit. This is a second book of the series and it was so good. It had me on my toes and quickly turning pages to find out what happened next. I’m super excited for the next one in the series!

Wow! There were so many things going on in this book that I just could not put it down! There are missing girls in the woods. Taylor is up to no good....still. Jon has things going on trying to transition to living near Annie. He is also trying to win Kylie over. Annie is busy working cases. Lots of bad things happen in the dark!

It took me a while to get into this book, then I realised that this is the second book to delve into the life of forest ranger Annie!
There’s lots going on in this suspenseful thriller, the twists and turns continue until the very end!
The main character Annie struggles to keep her secrets, deal with confronting issues and to keep her family safe!
The story unfolds with more questions, hiker’s disappearing but are these people intertwined?
Romance, family dynamics, abuse are only some of the main topics on offer, fear and suspense makes for a great read.

Thank you to the publisher, NetGalley and author for the opportunity to read and review this book.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
