A number of narratives that interlink by the end. You can read this without having to read the first in the series as the narrative is clear and doesn’t generally refer back without basic explanations. It has clunky dialogue that doesn’t sound natural but an easy read on the whole.

A fantastic read that will keep you on the edge of your seat!

This one will grab you from the get go and you won't want to put it down!

A return to Rock Harbor and some of the characters that were in the previous series. Annie’s sisters was kidnapped 24 years ago and is she back? This book grabbed me from the start and I would highly recommend it.

I have really enjoyed Colleen Cobles thriller and mystery stories in the past. This one shaped up to be another that I would really like. The storyline was gripping and there was always some new element to the case that kept you invested. However, I found the resolution to both the first and second books rather abrupt and succinct. I would have like more closer with the ending when there had been so much suspense for the whole book.

I also found that Jon and Annie seemed to fall for each other too easily. There was a lot from their past that they would have needed to work through and to a certain extent they did! Again, I think I was hoping for more closure and healing from those past issues.

Overall, I enjoyed both books! I am very grateful for the chance to read them in advance, and I would highly suggest them to anyone who is interested in Christian Thriller/Mystery genres. Colleen Coble is a great writer!

This is a continuing story of Annie Pederson first written about in edge of dusk. It’s based in rock harbour and some of the characters that pop up in this series are also connected to a Colleen’s previous rock series. Some themes within this book are forgiveness of self/others and forgiveness of the past. The characters are well written In amongst a story involving suspense, intrigue and romance. I loved this book and will be buying it to keep when it comes out. We have a missing woman, who has been on the run from an abusive husband, we have a dead body in the woods and missing hikers!

This is such a good book! Colleen Coble's books just

I read this book from start to finish in just a day. That's quick for me,
but it was too good to put down.
I love the characters, I cannot wait for the next one!
That said, there are no cliffhangers. There is just room for more of
the storyline.

Dark of Night by Colleen Coble is the second book in the Annie Pederson series. The writing is solid and I appreciated the theme of power in male/female relationships. I would recommend this for anyone who enjoys romantic suspense. Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC.

Dark of Night is the second novel in the Annie Pederson series. I would suggest reading the first novel before reading this one because this has a lot of story lines that carried over. It is filled with mystery and suspense and you will want to keep reading until late in the night to see what is going to happen next. The characters are interesting and I found myself rooting for them. It does have a couple of different story lines going on that end up overlapping but it wasn't confusing to follow. Overall this was another slam dunk for Colleen Coble.

So this is the second book in the series and can I just say Wow!

So much going on, Is Taylor really Sarah, Anne’s sister who was abducted when she was 5 years old?
Is Jon Kileys dad?
And what happens when all the DNA results come back?

In addition we have a missing woman, who has been on the run from an abusive husband, we have a dead body in the woods, and missing hikers!!

This is the second book of ranger Annie Pederson. Is this woman really her sister? Will her romance with Jon continue? There's also a mystery of a missing woman folded into the story.

I really liked this book. Coble does a good job of writing about the personal lives of characters while adding enough additional story to make it a mystery. I found myself really into the mystery part of the book more than Annie's personal life. I won't spoil some of the things in her personal life, but I wish they could have been a little nicer. I hope there's a third book because I like the work that Annie does!

This is the 2nd installment in the series about Annie Pederson and her boyfriend Jon in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula where she runs a resort. Her sister Sarah was missing since she was small and has now returned. Evil is afoot and Jon and Annie try to solve the mysteries and keep everyone safe, including Annie's daughter Kylie. I loved the first installment of this story and I love this sequel. Recommended reading! Put it on your bucket list.

Dark of Night if #2 in the Annie Pederson series of books by Colleen Coble. I really like this series because it is in the same area of the first suspense series I have read by the author and that series is Rock Harbor series. Same of the same characters from that series play a part of this series. Bree and her rescue dog air Annie in search and rescue. You don't have to read the Rock Harbor series to appreciate this series but I highly recommend you read the first book in this series which is Edge of Dusk.. Dark of Night answers some questions that were raised in the first book. In this book we learn whether or not Taylor is Annie's long-lost sister Sarah who disappear some twenty plus years ago. Taylor is bitter and resentful. If she is Sarah will she ever have a loving relationship with her family? Taylor is very unlikeable in this book. I hope she gets over her attitude in future books. Then there is the story of Michelle Fraiser, a woman trying to escape from her abusive husband. She disappears in the woods but the search team is unable to find her body but do find clues. Reading the book we know she has an injured leg and is held captive in a small cabin and unable to escape but we don't know who is holding her and the reason until the very end. This book kept me up late reading. I can't wait until the next book in the series comes out.

This is book two in the Annie Pederson series. I hadn’t read the first book, but the story worked well as a stand-alone novel. That being said, if you have the opportunity then read book one first! There were a lot of characters in this book and it took me some time to work out where they all fit, and their relationships with each other.

The underlying theme of this story was about the power of women. Whether that be escaping abusive relationships, performing in male-dominated careers, or even just standing up for what they believed in. All important messages and a reason I would read more Colleen Cobble.

The genre of this book is romantic - suspense. Most of my reading is more on the “suspense” side of that combination, but this was great fun.

I am a big fan of Colleen Coble’s books. I’m always looking forward to the next one.
I believe I have found my favorite one. There’s always a good mystery involved but that’s not what kept me up until 2:30 am! It was the relationship between Jon and Kylie that kept me so interested. I had hoped that Annie would tell Kylie sooner in the book but I really enjoyed how everything happened.
Can’t wait until the next one in this series.

This is book #2 of the Annie Pederson Novels. Highly recommend reading book #1 (Edge of Dusk) before this one in order to not miss this complete captivating story. I love being back in Rock Harbor where so many of Coble’s other characters are woven into this one. Because her characters are so relatable, they end up feeling like friends.

When Annie was 8, her 5-year-old sister, Sarah, was kidnapped right before her eyes, never to be found. Now, 24 years later, Annie is reliving that horror when her 8-year-old daughter, Kylie goes missing. Annie never expected to relive such a nightmare. A major search is underway including utilizing the search dogs.

Orthopedic Surgeon, and former fiancé, Jon Dunstan has moved back to town and is now back in Annie’s life. There are still lingering secrets that Annie and Jon have yet to share with their family and friends.

Taylor a somewhat disheveled young woman who arrived in town in book #1 is now making some preposterous and distressing claims. Most doubt her trustworthiness although Annie is determined to find the truth..

Michelle, who had been living in a woman’s shelter feels confident in moving on, and is camping in the woods, she is however, questioning if it’s safe to be out there alone. She’s felt somewhat frightened since leaving the shelter. Michelle does in fact sustain a serious injury and runs into serious trouble.

You can never go wrong with a Colleen Coble book, and I never hesitate to recommend one. If you enjoy action, romantic suspense, characters that come to life, and books that are absolutely impossible to put down, please give them a try.

Dark of Night is the second book in Colleen Coble's new Annie Pederson series. While there is a new primary mystery in this book, it picks up right where the first book ended and truly should be read in order to get the most out of it. While it might be okay as a standalone, I definitely feel like there will be a lot of confusion on the relationships between the various characters. There were some unanswered questions from book one that we dive right back into with this one, and much like the first, it definitely has me wanting to know what will happen next.

Colleen Coble is a top favorite of mine, and as such I have pretty high expectations when I pick up one of her books and know I will be in for a page turning adventure. This one does not disappoint. There is a lot going on in the story in many different directions, and yet it's well written without any confusion. I loved how all the aspects of the story weaved together and all in all created a story that truly had me on the edge of my seat. I haven't read a book by this author I have not enjoyed, but I must say that this particular series is shaping up to be my favorite yet. I look forward to seeing what happens in the next one...I need more!
