Super cute continuation of one of my favorite series. The representation is unmarked in these books and Ship Wrecked is no exception. I love the unabashedly confident Maria and the cinnamon roll that is Peter. I was also happy to see the glimpses of our previous beloved characters sprinkled throughout the timeline of this book. Enjoyed the whole thing!

After hearing nothing but praise about Olivia Dade's other books, I was excited to give Ship Wrecked a try! The beginning of this book immediately pulled me in and I became completely invested in Maria and Peter's relationship. I loved watching their relationship evolve and seeing how their chemistry translated into their work. However, once I reached the mid point of this book it definitely slowed down for me a bit as I struggled to empathize with what Maria wanted from the relationship.
Nonetheless, this story was still lots of fun and I am excited to read more of Olivia Dade's work!

I must preface this review by saying I have not read the first two books in the Spoiler Alert series. I don’t think it’s necessary but it definitely would’ve made the little tidbits in between chapters and the epilogue more enjoyable.
I’m a bit disappointed because I love actor main characters so I went in expecting to love it. This was just a really tough one for me to get into. I knew it took place over 6 years but the time jumps were weird. 6 years literally passed by the 45% mark and I think I would’ve enjoyed it more if we got to see their years of pining and friendship as costars take place over the course of the entire book instead of just sneak peeks. I just didn’t feel incredibly invested in the relationship. For such a long book there wasn’t much character development, Peter and Maria were largely defined by a few generic traits with minimal growth. I originally loved that Peter was older (late thirties-early forties) but his inner dialogue was so immature to me and he was a rather lackluster love interest. Maria started out as a lovely, strong female MC but her contribution to the conflict of the story really bugged me. Like really, really bugged me. I understand where her insecurities come from but talk about selfish. I won’t spoil it but one of my least favorite romance resolutions.
I will admit that I loved the body positivity, the trauma healing, Maria’s adoption story, cute banter, and it really has a great cover. If you enjoyed the first two books, I’m sure you’ll like this one too. Take my review with a grain of salt because what the heck do I know about the Spoiler Alert universe? Either way I’m glad I had the chance to read this and I look forward to reading the first two!

This book opened up very quickly with romance and sucked you right in. This story is about an established actor named Peter who is trying to create a new image for himself, and an aspiring actress named Maria. After a steamy night together as strangers, they happen to get cast for the two leading roles in the same television show (yay for forced proximity!).
I enjoyed this book! I do think that the characters were just a tad unlikable at some points, but I understand it seems to come down to past abandonment issues/parental traumas. I think it just bothered me how Peter was a little immature (especially with how quickly he changed his mind about Maria when she snubbed him and then treated her so badly). It also dragged a little in some places, but overall I enjoyed it and I think it’s a interesting concept!

Received this ARC from NetGalley!

Wow! When I tell you this book has me HOOKED from the first paragraph I am not lying..
*inserts first paragraph*
“When Maria’s hazy brown eyes blinked back open after her orgasm, Peter held her gaze for another dozen thrusts. Then, braced on his forearms, fingers tangled in her hair, he pushed deep one last time and groaned into her mouth.” 😏😏
I am amazed by this book. I hadn’t read the other two before hand (didn’t know they had overlapping characters). These characters are beautiful. Flawed in some ways that most people can relate to.
If you want a book that keeps you on the edge of your seat & just when you think the story could end but you look and there’s still 20% of the book left.. read this. It’ll make you happy & sad & you’ll maybe cry in the end when solutions get resolved.
Thank you again for this arc. I loved it so much and I’ll be reading the other two books soon!

This book is about two fat people-- two complex, fascinating people who happen to also be fat--falling in love and it's truly one of the most enjoyable things I've ever read.
I was hooked pretty much from the get-go with that EXPLOSIVE first chapter and let me just say, I love how Olivia writes about fat people having sex. Like, she doesn't shy away from the fact that they're fat, but she also doesn't make the scene all about that. The point is that Peter and Maria had amazing chemistry that literally sizzled off the page. Well, not literally, but you know what I mean.
I loved how these two characters complimented one another. How Maria helped to draw Peter out of his shell, how she went out of her way to make him a part of their little found family on the island. And I never thought I would say this, but Peter has taken Alex's spot as my favorite Olivia Dade hero. He felt real to me in an almost visceral way that I can't really describe. Don't get me wrong, I adored Maria, but Peter was the one who stole my heart in the end.
I also enjoyed getting to see more of the actual filming of Gods Of The Gate. In the first two books, we really only got glimpses of the show but in this one, I felt like I finally got an understanding of this GoT-esque phenomenon.
All in all, this was a lovely story that I would not hesitate to recommend.

ship wrecked is my first olivia dade book but most certainly will not be my last! i am thrilled to have found another auto buy author

This book was cute! I loved the plot between these two costars! I also loved that both characters were plus-size, and that the author uses the phrase “fat acceptance” frequently, instead of just “body positivity.” I loved Maria; what a badass.
At times, the timeline and pacing confused me. There were long, unexplained jumps spanning years. The relationship between the characters was also sometimes explained rather than shown. I wish we got to experience more of their development during filming, without the large gaps of time. Overall, I read this book quickly and enjoyed it. I would read more by this author.

Peter and Maria just might be my favorite couple yet! The banter amongst the cast has always been top notch, but Maria’s is just a cut above. I loved how smart and sure of herself she is. The epilogue from this book left me with the biggest smile ever! I really hope this isn’t the last we see of the Gods of the Gates crew!!
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with this digital ARC in exchange for my honest review.

This was a quick, fun read. I loved the arc of the relationship between the main characters and they way they interact with each other. Would recommend this to anyone who wants a love story with realistic characters, even if the setting is not.

Thank you to netgalley for providing me an ARC in exchange for my honest review.
I didn't intend to finish this book in one day but I did. I couldn't put it down.
After a memorable one night stand Maria and Peter find themselves working together on a remote Irish island starring in Gods of the Gates.
I loved watching the relationship develop between Maria and Peter. Omg the pining Peter does in this book was epic! Maria is probably my favorite character in the whole Spoiler Alert universe and I loved the nicknames she gave Peter when he was being annoying. Plus I wish I was a part of her family because they sounded awesome.
The thing I love about Olivia Dade's writing is she pulls you into the world and you feel like you're a part of the cast and crew of Gods of the Gates.
The fact that the main characters were fat was just an added bonus in a already fabulous book.
I give this book a solid 4.5 stars out of 5

Olivia Dade delivers the goods in this third installment of her excellent Spoiler Alert series, each of which focuses on a relationship born of the epic, award-winning Guardian of the Gates television series and each featuring a fat female lead. This couple is by far my favorite of the three, though all of them have been delightful in their own way. Dade's unhurried depiction of this relationship is an ode to friendship and intimacy, as well as a gift to all readers who love a slow burn. There are plenty of sexy scenes, genuine belly laughs, and found family joy in Ship Wrecked, and I was sorry to say goodbye to Peter and Maria as I turned the last page.

Overall, this is fine. I didn't find the main couple to be all that believable - there just isn't that spark that's needed for a romance novel to really flourish. There was just something missing, though I'm not 100% sure what could be added to make them work. Their dynamic was just a bit too stilted. Beyond that, this is charming and Dade is a talented writer.

While I absolutely adored Spoiler Alert, I was lukewarm at best on the follow up, All the Feels. I was cautiously hopeful approaching this, the third book in the series, and I’m delighted to say it absolutely blew me away.
Maria and Peter redefine slow burn. After a sizzling night together, they’re shocked to discover they’ve been cast as love interests on Gods of the Gates, where they’ll be filming from a remote island for the duration of the series. For fear of letting any relationship drama interfere with the filming or the dynamic among the cast and crew, they ignore their feelings for each other. Though they’re not pursuing a romantic relationship, the friendship that evolves between them over the six years of filming is so sweet - I especially loved how Maria gently helped to draw Peter out of his shell and to feel more comfortable forming friendships with the crew. Of course, it wouldn’t be a romance novel without a bit of drama, but in this case it felt genuine - they love each other, but they also both want to defend their dreams and needs.
Olivia Dade has rightfully received much praise for her fat-positive characters and this book is perhaps my favorite so far. Maria is fat, yes, and she’s also strong, and powerful, and comfortable in her skin. Dade makes frequent reference to the strength both Maria and Peter possess, though it may not be as visibly obvious as typical Hollywood stars with six packs. As someone who constantly battles with assumptions about my health and physical ability based on my appearance, I found this book so comforting. I also love that Maria stood up for herself and her needs, even if it meant possibly losing Peter - she’s a heroine that I can definitely look up to.

I appreciated this book more than I enjoyed it. The leads are admirable, but they lack warmth and spark. Being back in the world of the Gods of the Gates production was tantalizing, but since the actors are mostly isolated, so is the storyline. Perhaps my expectations were too high after the first two entries in this series, both pretty dazzling. I'll continue to recommend those and look out for this author's next!

Just read Ship Wrecked ARC by @OliviaWrites. When a lady ghosts him after 1 amazing night, an actor is stunned to learn she'll be his new costar in a GOT style show--just the 2 of them on a remote island for years of filming. A+ body positivity, yearning, & chemistry for days!

I thoroughly enjoyed this. I hated when I turned to the last page. I love the Dade has no problem including all different body types in her books. It is so hard to do for some authors but she knocks it out the park. This was a fantastic read and I will continue to pick up her books.

I've been LOVING Olivia Dade's books, and Ship Wrecked is no exception! This book starts off STRONG with our main characters in the literal throes of a one night stand and devolves into my absolute favorite trope of all time "we had a one night stand and now we're TV stars stuck on an Island for six years"!!
Something I love about Olivia Dade's books overall is that they're fat-positive, sex-positive, and EXTREMELY inclusive. All types of people are welcome on her pages. I am obsessed with the way Olivia Dade can casually write about sex and really normalizes whatever people like in the bedroom.
Something I loved about this book in particular was getting to see Maria and Peter spend time together, learn about each other and settle into a beautiful, well-developed, deep relationship. It was lovely!!
I felt this way about Dade's other books, but this book is a bit slow in the middle, so push through because the ending is fantastic!!

I highly recommend Ship Wrecked. I loved the relationship between Peter and Maria. The book takes place over a six year period, from the time Maria and Peter first meet to the ending. I loved the TV series aspect and especially the representation of fat actors in Hollywood. I look forward to reading the other two books in the series and love the representation that Olivia Dade gives us. Not to mention, this book is spicy as hell!

Another total hit from Olivia Dade! This one just as funny, heartwarming, and body positive as the others! Maria and Peter are so beautiful and perfect for each other, I just love how they’re both mature and fat and secure in their sexuality. And give me more Viking-like men! What a gem of a read.
And once again, thanks Olivia for the absolute killer GoT critique. It’ll never get old. Please keep writing in this universe! I want to read how Carah and Summer get together!
