Hilarious and heartfelt. Olivia Dade is a master of blending hilarious dialogue with deeply touching moments of vulnerability. Maria and Peter are an incredibly fun couple who have obstacle after obstacle thrown in their way but find a way to be together all while bickering and bantering.
I loved this book and will be looking forward to ore from Dade.

This is the third book in the series, while their are spoilers for earlier books it can be read entirely as a standalone

CW: toxic workplace, fat phobia, death of parent(s) (past), grief, toxic relationship with a parent, adoption (adoption story recounted including foster care placement), cheating (;non-MCs)

I would recommend if you're looking for (SPOILERS)

-m/f one night stand
-work place romance
-celebrity romance
-amazing fat rep
-spectacular banter
-lovers to friends/idiots to lovers
-stuck on a small island together
-all the different colors of family including found family

I love this book. Honestly, I could not put it down and it just did not dissapont. Olivia Dade is such a talent. This book had me cackling with all of the winks at the fanfiction (is anyone else more talented at writing an intestational that somehow is hilarious and drives the plot forward. the answer is no), the heavy topics, adoption representation, the fat rep. Just chef's kiss. This book wrecked me in the best way.

Seriously this book has a hot one night stand and then turns into the best slow burn of sexual chemistry and yearning. The banter between Maria and Peter. Both of them growing throughout the book, and growing together. Maria was strong, knew what she wanted, and not here for anyone's crap (or fear of cows IYKYK). I loved how confident she was, in her body, in her acting skills, in what she wanted out of life and her ability to just grab it.

And Peter. Gosh that poor yearning man I wanted to hug him, but also phew just the bearded Viking of my dreams. Just pining away in the best way, figuring his life out and just knowing it needed to include Maria. I won't say more but I adored their relationship and seeing the call backs to the earlier books. And I just love how she wrote two fat characters in love, and in love with each other's bodies. The crap that Hollywood puts them through and how they just are. This is a story of two people who happen to be fat and I loved that..

I could gush for hours but read this book, read this series. I just need more Olivia Dade books.

This is my third Olivia Dade book, and I think I'm going to take it as a sign that unfortunately, her books aren't really for me. Spoiler Alert was okay, but I had trouble suspending disbelief enough to find any of it really believable, and I enjoyed All The Feels significantly less. Ship Wrecked was ... fine, I guess, but felt much less compelling. I had to push myself through most of it because it just wasn't super interesting to me.

I like books that involve fandom a lot, but the issue with them is that they can be really hit or miss. This one was slightly less egregious because it involved two actors vs an actor and a fan or something similar, but it still didn't quite work for me. This also might be too "sensitive" or something but I think writing fanfiction about real people is incredibly weird and inappropriate and while I know that these characters aren't real, I guess I just don't like that these feel like they condone the concept of it?

I was prepared to really dislike Peter because of the attitude at the beginning, but he was fine, and so was Maria, so I didn't really take any issues with the characters. My main issue with the plot/conflict was how pointless it felt. I'm not an actor so I guess I have no clue but like ... if they're actors, wouldn't they already be prepared to spend time apart? Isn't that just how the industry works? It felt like a weird hill to suddenly be ready for her to die on, regardless of her past traumas and all that. It just didn't work for me - it felt super low stakes and just didn't feel like it added all that much to the climax of the book.

Overall, probably like 2/5.

I have loved Olivia Dade's novels for their wit, romance, and body positive messages. This one was a bit uneven, though. I like that she started out with sex, but the we-like-each-other-but-can't went on for so long. And it just became a slog to read at times.

A one night stand who turns out to be your coworker for the next six years? Sounds awful in theory. As a reader, I'm here for it.

Maria and Peter have a scorching night together, but she leaves without a trace in the morning. I definitely appreciated the backstory as to why Peter was so upset about her disappearance...and I also understood Maria's past and why she did what she did. The book showcased both their hangups from their pasts and how they worked through it in the end.

This pair finds themselves as co-stars of a hit show (Game of Thrones season 8 messiness with show runners, anyone?). The only problem is that while they're part of a large ensemble cast, they're the only two together for six years (Shipwrecked, duh).

I'm all for a second chance romance, but I did feel like Peter and Maria's journey into friendship was glossed over. The book has a time jump with past text conversations interspersed...but I found myself missing their friendship blossom.

Even though I missed reading snippets of their friendship while filming, I ate up the banter between Peter and Maria (and I LOVE when the banter doesn't end at any stage of their relationship). Her Swedish nicknames for Peter were amazing and I adored that Peter was head over heels for Maria since day one. This book was very cute and such an easy read. I definitely enjoyed my time reading their story!

And thank you to Avon and Netgalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Peter is shocked to find the one-night-stand he can't stop thinking about is his new Gods of the Gates co-star, a woman who left without even giving her name. Once it's clear things won't work out between them, Swedish Maria and American Peter keep their contact to on-screen - until the last day of filming.

Peter can't bear not to see Maria everyday- but their lives seem to be taking them in different directions. And while Maria remains close to her family in Sweden, Peter is all but estranged from his widowed father. Can they find enough in common to build a life together, or are their steamy encounters destined to be a memory of the one-who-got-away.

This body-positive romance takes on Hollywood with strong leading actors advocating for their healthy bodies and demanding change from the industry. This third book in the Spoiler Alert series by Olivia Dade is another fun romp with the cast of characters from Garden of the Gods.

Thanks to NetGalley for this advanced reader's copy in exchange for an honest review. Pub. date 11/15/22.

I love these books but it's becoming increasingly clear in them that "Gates of the Gods" (okay, so Game of Thrones) is the worst, dumbest show in the world. I enjoyed this slow burn a lot, although I did find the final act "black moment" a little hard to believe after all of this. It's the kind of romance novel where at 80% you're just waiting around for something awful to happen, because otherwise the book would be over! Spoiler Alert is still my favorite but I enjoyed this one a lot.

I never read the first in this series (Spoiler Alert) but I adored All the Feels earlier this year. I squealed with delight when I saw this on NetGalley because I was so excited for the next installment. However, it fell a little flat.

The story follows "Gods of the Gates" stars, Maria and Peter over a 6 year-span (!!) which covers meeting each other for the first time, their time on the show, and the aftermath of the show's finale. This gave me such "Game of Thrones" vibes (a show's finale, in which I will never recover from) and I was there for the ride. BUT the time jumps were so expansive and I almost had a hard time following what point of the story we were at. It would have been easier to read had the times been more clearly stated/marked.

I also felt as though there was zero character development until the last 50 or so pages. I was less than impressed by the infamous Act 3 Break-Up and its reasoning, feeling as though it made the characters take 5 steps backwards.

Overall, it was an enjoyable time, I just had some things that irked me throughout my reading experience.

Thank you to Avon and NetGalley for providing an eARC in exchange for an honest review.

Olivia Dade continues to astound me in her writing of Ship Wrecked!! I love a good plus size romance and this story did not disappoint with promoting body positivity!

I fell in love with the characters and their relationship. The chemistry between the characters was off the charts and everything about them was #goals !!

I also enjoyed their individual character development and how they grew in their own ways but also together, if that makes sense. The themes that Dade tackles in this book are so important to talk about and I felt like she approached them beautifully.

The pacing of the book was really good and it had me crying at the end because of how much the emotions hit me. I was so upset when I finished it because I didn’t want it to end!!

Easily one of my favorite romance reads of 2022!!

Thank you to Netgalley for an ARC copy in exchange for an honest review!!

Ship Wrecked was an enjoyable conclusion to the Spoiler Alert series. The story follows Gates of the Gods stars Maria and Peter over roughly six years from their first meeting the night before being cast in their roles through the show's finale.

I will really, really miss reading books in the Spoiler Alert universe. Dade has created such a rich, interesting world filled with so many lovable side characters. As someone who still isn't over the final season of Game of Thrones, I love the many little GoT call-outs and easter eggs. Ship Wrecked covers the entire timeline of the Gates of the Gods show, which allows us to see major events from other Spoiler Alert novels from new perspectives. This storytelling device did a great job linking the three books together.

Surprisingly, the biggest thing I struggled with in Ship Wrecked was the character development. I usually find Dade's characters wonderfully three-dimensional but Maria and Peter were largely defined by a few character traits. Maria is outgoing and charming. Peter is shy and deeply driven by his career. These are great building blocks for characters but I kept hoping for more to these characters -- particularly from a book that is about 400 pages.

Though I didn't enjoy Ship Wrecked quite as much as the other Spoiler Alert books, I still found this an entertaining story in a world I wish we were getting more stories in.

Thank you to Avon and Netgalley for providing an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Unfortunately, this was a DNF for me...I just didn't care for the writing style or the speed of the relationship depicted. I think it would be a winner for most contemporary romance fans, but it wasn't for me.

"Ship Wrecked" is the third book in the Spoiler Alert series. While it's not necessary to have read the previous books, it helps to know some other characters. Per usual for this author, expect plenty of sexy heat and body positivity, as well as a solid HEA. Parts of the book felt a little uneven, though. For example, abruptly jumping ahead 5 years, but occasionally flashing back to text exchanges that happened in the intervening time, and teasing the whole "are they or aren't they" thing during the press junket, then never showing their "coming out" moment. Bottom line- I enjoy this author, and this book was a fun distraction from other more serious books that I've read recently. Read it and appreciate it for what it is.

My thanks to the author, publisher, and #NetGalley for the opportunity to read an ARC of this book. #ShipWrecked

I absolutely adored April and Marcus, and I loved Alex and Lauren. But Maria and Peter?
AH. I don't think it'd be possible to love them any more.
They were so perfect.
The lovers-to-enemies-to-friends-to-lovers arc was INCREDIBLE, and I loved seeing them grow together and then fight for each other. They have this amazing connection where they really see each other and watching them navigate the depths of their own--and each others--insecurities was incredible.
I loved all of the little moments where Peter went out of his way for Maria. He was so grumpy and cared for her so much.
I loved the Epilogue and all of the moments where we got to see the other cast members, especially their endings.
I will miss this cast of characters so much! Thank you, Olivia, for sharing them with us.

4 Plot
2 Spice

Tropes: plus size hero and heroine, lovers-to-enemies-to-friends-to-lovers, grumpy sunshine, forced proximity, witty banter, two pining leads, child-free by choice, found family, badass female lead and feminist themes

This story follows two more actors from the Gods of the Gates TV show cast. Maria and Peter have a one night stand that ends with Maria leaving wordlessly in the night, only to find out the following day that they will be the only two actors cast together in a subplot set on a remote Irish island for the next 6 seasons.

Pros: Typical Olivia Dade writing - so well done, so smart, so uplifting of women. Maria is so strong. She knows exactly what she wants and is not afraid to set healthy boundaries to keep herself happy and healthy. I adored the way she intentionally tried to draw Peter into the group, despite his shyness, and created a little family amongst the small cast and crew on the remote island. Getting past Peter's grumpy, introvert façade and seeing how deeply he cared for Maria was so sweet. Watching Maria and Peter's friendship grow was also a delight and their banter was hilarious.

Cons: This particular story was a little slow and dragged at times. It definitely could've used a little more oomph. The timeline was also a bit choppy and jumped around.

Conclusion: I would definitely recommend this book.

Ship Wrecked

Peter and Maria are enemies first, because of an I’ll fated one night stand, then we see them through into a friends to lovers situation after being cast as co-stars in a show filmed on a remote island.

Peter and Maria’s friendship is so sweet, and we find that they are exactly what one another needs. As their relationship grows and deepens, they share more and more about their tough pasts with each other and we get to understand why Peter is so reserved and surly and Maria is able to make a family out of just about any given group of people.

I really loved how the author added emails, text conversations, and cast group chats throughout the book, it added a fun element to the writing.

Ship Wrecked is book #3 in Olivia Dade’s Spoiler Alert series. I have not read the first two books, no need to read in order!

This is a lovers-to-enemies-to-friends-to-lovers journey!
This is the third book in this series that includes actors from a TV show. The entire series has been body positive or body neutral, and this book is no exception, with the two leading characters portrayed as "fat" (I love that this was used as a neutral term).
The story itself was easy to follow, although some of the time hopping could have been better set-up. If I got confused, it was more clear within a paragraph or two.
I love that the author includes snippets from fanfics, articles, or text chains in between chapters to add some fun breaks to the story. She has done this with the other two books, as well, and it's always a fun break to see the dynamics in other contexts.
I thought the conversations on body size and boundaries in job settings were all handled well, and there wasn't cruelty employed as plot, either.I enjoyed that all three of the books have overlapped on timelines, as well.
I appreciated the emotional intelligence and nuance to the characters' dynamics, as well. It did seem that at some points in the story, everything was more in-their-heads than plot action, but the author did a great job piecing out subtleties in the complex emotions, too. I love a strong female lead with firm boundaries!

Another wonderful book from Olivia Dade! I have loved every book in the Spoiler Alert trilogy. While I am sad to see this series end, I am so glad we got to go out with Maria and Peter,

Maria and Peter are both actors on Gods of the Gates (the very thinly veiled Game of Thrones show that exists in universe) and we start the book with them having a sexy one night stand. The journey continues over several years after that point and we get to know both Maria and Peter really well. The story is heavily character driven and I really enjoyed watching the two of them develop individually and as friends over the course of the book.

I really loved reading a romance with two fat main characters that were both very confident in their size and sexuality. Maria and Peter have a number of other insecurities and childhood pain - I cried a LOT reading this book - but they are not shamed for their size (outside of an incident with the asshat showrunners that have been doing this for three books) and have complicated but loving relationships with their family.

If you are interested in a quiet, complicated hero this is definitely the book for you.

Thank you to Avon and NetGalley for access to this ARC in exchange for my honest opinion. Ship Wrecked will be released on November 15th, 2022.

If you’ve read Spoiler Alert and All the Feels, this is the third book following Maria and Peter’s story! It comes out November 15th, so set your calendars! (Trust me; I’ve already pre-ordered it!)

Maria and Peter start as a one-night stand with no idea that their insane chemistry will launch their careers as Vikings stuck on a deserted island for the hit TV show Gods of the Gates. Awkward, right?

Commence a slow burn… and I mean slow in the sense that this book spans years! And it works because shy, steadfast Peter and bold, loyal Maria utterly have each other’s backs after six seasons of being the only two actors filming on the remote Ireland island.

The spice throughout is amazing, and the chemistry between these two characters is undeniable from the start but it GROWS into that mixture of true fondness and love that takes time.

Maria and Peter are meant for each other. Is this a fated mates book? Technically no, but they *are* soulmates. It’s obvious. There’s also humor that involves Maria shaking a glass jar of picked herring from Peter’s face when he calls her Pippi, body positivity that is downright uplifting for virtually anyone, and of course the camaraderie of this show’s cast seen throughout the books.

If you want a spicy, hilarious, and extraordinarily heartfelt love story between a man from Wisconsin who struggles to reach out to others, and a bold Swedish woman who loves to bring people together, this is your late fall/winter read. An enthusiastic five stars! This is my favorite in a series that was already at the very top of my romance list.

The final installment in Olivia Dade's Spoiler Alert series, Ship Wrecked is a fantastic tale of two strangers, Peter and Maria, who have a steamy one night stand only to learn the next day that they're about to be coworkers. Not just coworkers, but actors playing Vikings marooned on a remote island alone together in a hit cable series called Gods of the Gates (very clearly patterned after Game of Thrones, right down to the terrible showrunners and rabid fanbase). After that steamy night there are definitely some romantic feelings on both sides... but also hurt feelings, and at least for Peter, an unwillingness to jeopardize their working environment. Working together so closely for six years turns these two erstwhile lovers into very close friends, and when their TV show finally comes to an end Peter's finally ready to get over his fears. But can he offer Maria enough to keep her in his life forever?

Whew, what a sexy and emotional end to an amazing series! Olivia Dade knocked it out of the park with this one. I loved seeing Peter and Maria's relationship grow over the years, as Maria created a little work-family out of their island film crew and slowly coaxed Peter out of his shell. I loved that they spoke openly about their emotional baggage and learned to help each other carry it instead of rejecting each other for not being "perfect". And as a plus size woman, I always love that Olivia Dade's characters are unapologetically fat and sexy as hell. Seeing characters who look like me being loved exactly as they are makes my heart glad. I'm super excited to share this book with friends, and I can't wait for her next series.

Thanks to NetGalley, Avon and Harper Voyager for the opportunity to read this book!
