We open this book with Charlotte--a Pride and Prejudice obsessed romantic--four shots of tequila deep after she discovered her boyfriend had a secret girlfriend. She swears off men for the next six months and vows to adopt a puppy to give all of her love.
Then, next chapter. It's George's POV. He is Charlotte's neighbor and coworker. He is helplessly in love with her. She has always been dating someone, so it has always been unrequited. He has (you guessed it) SIX MONTHS before he has to decide if he wants to move away from Pine Hollow where he moved hoping to find his happily ever after.
This book was so sweet, and I enjoyed knowing where both Charlotte and George were at in the process of the story. I did find myself often wanting to yell "YOU TWO IDIOTS LOVE EACH OTHER! JUST COMMUNICATE!!!".
This book was written for you if:
1) Obviously if you're a Jane Austen girlie
2) You love a dual POV
3) You like a small town cast of characters

Pride and Puppies was a perfect rom com read! This book will give you all the feels. Charlotte and George were just adorable! Then you add in two super cute dogs and you have a perfect book. I love all the friends and family feels you get out of this book. So if your looking for a book with small town feel, laugh out loud moments, family, friends, and love this book is definitely for you. This is my second read from Lizzie Shane and I can't wait to read more book by her. Thank you for allowing me to read this ARC.
Thanks NetGalley

I love a good twist on Pride and Prejudice, but this one was not for me. Am I heartless because the addition of puppies did nothing for my soul? Perhaps.

I honestly only read this book before I love pride and prejudice and puppies!!
Cute book!
I haven’t read any of the other books in the series so I can’t speak on the series.
Again went for this one cause mr. Darcy and puppies!!!

Just wow. Finished this book in one sitting. It was a great love story with a bonus of dogs mixed in. George and Charlotte are both great characters and this being my first book from Lizzie, I am planning now to read more. Her style is similar to Abby Jimenez which I also love. Pride & Puppies is a fun read and not too sappy with a great mix of humor and deep emotions. The ending made me tear up which is rare. Pure genuine emotion.

this was a cute hallmark type romance which I had fun with! It was sweet and to the point and brought me comfort. I highly recommend it.

What an adorable book!! Give me romance and puppies any day. Perfect for all the girls who love Jane Austen and want a closed-door read. There is a bit of miscommunication in the novel but the characters work through it and grow so don't let that deter you. I loved this book and found it to be a cute cozy romcom!

I went into this book not knowing it was part of a series and I still LOVED it. The town, the characters, the dogs!!! Love a good Pride and Prejudice retelling and this puppy-centric romcom was such a perfect, cozy book. It was a little flat at points, but overall so worth reading.

A light and sweet read that is worth an add to your collection for romance reading patrons. I laughed out loud several times and felt drawn to the characters.

"Pride & Puppies" by Lizzie Shane is a delightful addition to the series, offering a charming twist on the classic tale of Jane Austen's Mr. Darcy. Dr. Charlotte Rodriguez's decision to swear off dating in favor of her adorable puppy, Bingley, sets the stage for a heartwarming and humorous journey. Lizzie Shane skillfully weaves together elements of romance and canine companionship, creating a story that is both sweet and endearing. The evolving relationship between Charlotte and her neighbor George Leneghan is filled with friendly banter and unexpected sparks, making it a joy to follow. As Charlotte grapples with her feelings and George contemplates a move, readers are treated to a modern-day romance that keeps them guessing until the end. "Pride & Puppies" is a charming tale of self-discovery, love, and the possibility of finding happiness where you least expect it, making it a must-read for fans of the genre.

I just couldn’t finish this one. I quit at about 25% because it just couldn’t keep my attention .
I’m disappointed because the description made the book sound like something I would love.

This was a very cute adaptation of Pride and Prejudice with other Jane Austen quotes and character references sprinkled throughout.
Dr. Charlotte Rodriguez and her sisters love Jane Austen. And Charlotte is searching for her own Mr. Darcy, except the broody, aloof men she's been dating are just that. Broody and aloof. So now she's going to avoid dating and adopt a puppy instead. George Leneghan is her neighbour, co-worker and a fellow dog owner. He's kind, patient and just an overall great guy. So how does George get out of the friend-zone and get Charlotte to see him as a hero in her story?
The story started out strong and I loved that these were just two simple, quiet people who slowly and quietly fell in love. But halfway through the constant self-sabotage and low self esteem from both main characters began to drag the plot down with no help from the supporting characters.
Thank you, NetGalley, for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Pride and Puppies by Lizzie Shane is a light, closed door friends-to-lovers romance written for big fans of Jane Austen - and puppies, of course. Charlotte has been looking for her Mr. Darcy, but she just ends up dating jerks with no hidden depths. Her friend George would love a chance with her, but after her latest breakup Charlotte swears off dating and focuses instead on her new puppy named Bingley. The book is chock-full of Austen references, which add a layer of interest - the characters even host a Jane Austen-themed event. I found it interesting how the book compared George to Austen characters such as Bingley or Knightley as opposed to Darcy. Worth a read if you're curious about how Austen is referenced.

Did not realize this book was part of a series when I requested it via NetGalley so it was a hard one to really immerse myself into. It was cute, and I can def. see why people enjoy it!

DNF at 20%. I really love pride and prejudice retellings but I just never got into this. I have the authors other book on netgalley right now and am hopeful that it will hit me when i'm in the mood for it

This has been on my NetGalley shelf for over a year, and I still haven’t picked it up. I've tried, but it just isn't for me (right now). I hope other people enjoy it more than I did.

I didn't have a chance to read this before it was archived. My apologies. I can't submit this unless the review is 100 characters long. I’m sorry to have wasted your time if you are reading this.

A bit predictable (which is sometimes a given with this genre, but mores here than other recent RomComs), but still a fun read.

I really wanted to love this book. I found Charlotte relatable in a lot of ways. But I just couldn’t get into it the way that I wanted to.

This book was just sadly not for me! I was hoping for something different but it turned out to be something I was not expecting, which is okay and I'm sure someone else would love it!
