We’re always fans of Fiona in this household so we were thankful for the chance to review one of the newest additions. While it’s not our favorite so far, the illustrations were fun. Kids agreed they wanted more information about the little red panda!

This is a Children's Book that I read with my twin boys. I found this book so much fun to read, and my boys really loved it. I found the pictures in this book to be so cute and fun which made the story come to life. Great Read. I received an ARC of this book. This review is my own honest opinion about the book like all my reviews are.

Fiona once again has a fun little adventure with her other zoo friends! It was fun to see her interact with the other animals at the zoo, and see their thought process as to how to get to see the new baby red panda. The animals problem solving as to how to drive the train was a fun bit of cooperation that little ones can understand, This is a fun series, and we hope to see more of Fiona and her friends!

An early reader story with beautiful illustrations starring Fiona the hippo. Kids will love this easy read. There is plenty of adventure and humor sprinkled throughout. It would be perfect for an elementary class read aloud.

Fiona’s Train Ride to the Zoo is a new I Can Read Level 1 book. My son, who just turned seven, read this book with no issues to his younger siblings. The story itself it super cute and the illustrations are wonderful.

Synopsis: Fiona the hippo wants to visit the new baby red panda that was born in the zoo but it’s too far to walk. She hops aboard the zoo train with her zoo friends on an adventure to sneak a peek at the new baby panda.

As a parent I recommend this book for kiddos who have started to read and take on few bigger words. As mentioned above, my son just turned 7 and is getting ready to start reading level 2 books. He had no struggles reading this one. We both loved this cute story!

Fiona, the young hippo, hears that a new baby red panda has been born at the zoo where she lives. She wants to go and see the baby! Her mom reminds her that new babies need lots of rest so Fiona waits a bit. Fiona asks all of her friends if they would like to go meet the new baby -- they think it is too far. Just then - the zoo train chugs by and Fiona has a brilliant idea that solves all the problems. This involves a small hippo driving the zoo train at night after the zoo closes - with the help of her friends, of course. Very cute - Fiona fans will love it and it provides a chance to talk about problem-solving.

Fiona the Hippo is back with Fiona’s Train Ride. A level 1 beginning reader book that full of adorable characters. Fiona and her zoo friends want to see the new baby red panda, but the baby red panda lives in an area of the zoo that is a bit far away. Fiona comes up with a solution, to take her friends on the zoo train so that they can welcome the baby red panda. Super cute storyline, with just enough adventure to keep beginning reader's interest. And Fiona is a fun-loving character, and we can't wait to see what she is up to next.

The illustrations are bright, colorful and have a unique texture to them that really captures the reader's attention. Young readers and parents will enjoy Fiona’s most recent escapade.

Fiona's Train Ride is such a cute leveled reader! It's especially good for kids who are obsessed with zoo animals, trains, and/or babies. It does kind of seem at the beginning of the story that Fiona is doing exactly what her mom had said not to do, but as it turns out-somewhere along the way she obtained permission off page! This is going to be a loved beginning reader series.

Fiona is eager to see the new red panda baby at the zoo and finds that the zoo train might be useful in getting all the zoo animals over to the red panda's home. What an adventure in Fiona's Train Ride as she drives the train for all her friends!

This book is categorized as a Beginning Reading 1 book but I actually think that this is closer to a level 2. Young readers will need a good grasp on blends and digraphs as they read this story, with words like "lunch", "munch", "squash", "grabbed", and more. There are longer sentences with longer dialogues between Fiona and her mom and friends. The illustrations are helpful for students determining the animal names while reading and they need some background information on what trains sound like in order to read the onomatopoeia. I feel like this book might be challenging to beginning readers but would be a good push for them before reading the level 2 books.

A fun story about Fiona and her friends filled with cute baby animals, a problem that needs the help of friends to be solved, and a heartwarming ending! Thank you NetGalley and ZonderKidz for the advanced copy. All opinions are my own.

I love hippos and so does my daughter. She loved this book and has asked to get the Fiona collection. I loved all the illustrations of different animals at the zoo.

This is a charming addition to the Fiona collection. In this early reader, Fiona and her friends want to go visit the new baby red panda and decide to take the zoo train to get to the red panda habitat. The animals work together to get the train going. It includes a bit of cooperation and problem solving.

As with the other Fiona the Hippo books, we adore how the illustrations capture the facial expressions and emotions of the animals. The illustrations draw you into the story.

Fiona's Train Ride is an adorable book for early readers! It features a cute, easy to read story about Fiona and her zoo friends visiting a baby Red Panda. I liked the themes of friendship and curiosity. Children who love animals will enjoy this one, especially if they've read other Fiona books.
