They say a picture is worth a thousand words. Well if this is the case then this book would be huge. The author shares his love and passion of the Oregon shoreline through his stunning photographs. This book contains back to back images of the sea, rocks and coastline each photograph has a single title. The pictures are amazing and hold so much beauty and emotions. Many of us just stand looking at the sea and just see waves, bog or small. But the author captures just small details within the waves themselves and suddenly you see the dangerous beauty held within them details we miss but hold such power and creat great awe in the smaller things of life. The also paints some of his pictures and there are a few in the book. It is very obvious from the authors photos that oregon coastline can be deadly. Each of the photos within the book are available to buy from the author aswell so it's a catalogue of his best work. To get that 5th star I would of liked a few sentences about each picture.

I live near Portland, Oregon. I think these images and photography captured the essence of Oregon and beaches perfectly. I would love to get my hands on a hard cover to see these images and photography up close. 5 stars!

This is a beautiful coffee table book of photos of the Oregon coast. The author captures the beauty in amazing ways. If you have never seen the Oregon coast in person after seeing this book you will want to hop on a plane and see if for yourself. If you have it will bring back all those memories of your trip. The light in the photos perfectly captures the coastline. Lovely book.

Absolutely stunning photography! These pictures are achingly beautiful and I now have a new bucket list travel destination! While I can understand the artist's choice to let the images speak for themselves, I would have loved a bit more information--locations or a brief accompanying text putting the photo into context or offering information about the area.

This would be a great gift for photography buffs and nature lovers, as well as for armchair travelers. There is so much to enjoy and appreciate here!

I find it easy to lose myself in the beauty of ocean waves. Add in a rugged coastline and the time multiplies by all the variables. Bill Posner captures the colors, texture, and simply complex beauty of Oregon coast and shore. A combination of photos and art, the details are vivid and often stunning. His art shows the peace of a calm morning, the tension and energy in waves, the plentiful designs occurring in nature, and the sheer power of water. I would enjoy many of these prints on my wall. I count it a privilege to have read an advanced copy from the publisher via NetGalley. All opinions expressed are solely my own and freely given.

Intimate Visions by Bill Posner is an absolutely beautiful book. I feel like when I am their looking at the pictures I can feel the sounds the water makes. This would be a good coffee table top book or in the doctor book to calm you.

A beautiful collection of breathtaking photographs of the sea -- crashing waves, swirling waters, and soothing blues. A nice book for leisurely browsing and relaxation.

Beautiful photography book with the focus on waves. The photography is beautiful and the book is artistic with brief captions like Foam Shadow, Backlit Splash, Looking South, Wind Misting etc. If the title didn’t say it was the Oregon Shore it could have been waves anywhere. There are a few shore shots and none of the beaches where the wave photos are taken are identified. If you want beautiful photos of waves this is lovely. If you are looking for information about the Oregon shore this isn’t the right book. Thank you to NetGalley, BooksGoSocial and the author for a eARC in exchange for a review.

Posner's love of the Oregon Coast is clear in the photograph collection. They're nice images but there's little that distinguishes them to be of Oregon. The emphasis is on wave detail that, while nice, fails to convey a true sense of place. As such, the occasional image that shows more of the coastline (e.g. p55-56, p104-105) is a welcomed change.

This may have been a result of viewing this digitally, many of the photographs appear to be of a low resolution. This is disappointing as it's an art book but might be better in print form. There is also a lack of cohesion throughout, with no common thread that connects them, resulting in the viewing experience that feels jarring.

Though there is minimal text (introduction and headings), there are some formatting errors and, subjectively, poor creative choices made. There are unnecessary capitalisations and awkward heading placements on the page that, while minor, are worth noting as this is a book focused on its visuals.

My favorites of the group are “Looking South”, “Sunrise Cloud Reflections”, “Thick Foam on Shore” “Very Low Tide” and “Moon Rise”. Beautiful work!

The art in this book is simply stunning! The colours in some of them are breath taking. I could hear the sea, I could smell the ocean! What a beautiful book.
