Nice writing style and I was settling in for a great courtroom drama but it morphed into a somewhat sentimental family story. Not for me. DNF

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an ARC of this book. I have chosen to write this honest review voluntarily and it reflects my personal opinion.
The book starts as Jorie's eldest son, James, has been taken into the local jail following a road traffic accident. As the story of the accident unfolds we learn about the life of Jorie's family where living is a struggle; balancing the budget is as hard as coping with James' unusual behaviour. The story is well-written and the pace is rapid as we read about James and how Will, his brother, is driven to take up his dream. Aspects of the accident don't seem to add up but even though I thought this was predictable nothing prepared me for the final twist. I thought the book was fascinating and found it difficult to put down, and the final few pages were incredibly good.
I've now signed up to follow this clever author.

Four and a Half Billion People
by Catherine Pomeroy
I LOVED this book. I felt all the hope and love and the past that affects children. James broke my heart, so much to give to help someone. I think, Jorie raised the boys, and they raised her to care. Beautiful written and will think again of this book. Thank you

Although I thought this book has potential I really struggled to finish it. I could see where it was going but I think it lost me. I know some people will love this book but it just wasn't for me but saying that I would like to read more from this author and give it another go. I think she writes well this story line just wasn't my cup of tea. 3/5 stars
