God I love famous person romance so much. This book was sweet and spicy and full of fun tidbits about a culture other than my own!

Kiss Me, Catalina is a fun, love story with wonderful characters, and an interesting backdrop of mariachi music. I loved the two main characters, they are good people at heart and their story felt authentic and built on shared experiences and interests. The family undertones are wonderful and also show that family is not always who you are born with but found families. It was fast paced but not too fast, had really strong pacing.

4.5 stars!

I loved "Kiss Me Catalina" by Priscilla Oliveras! I loved the primary AND secondary characters, I loved the dynamics between them, I loved the plot, I loved the family aspect of the story, I loved the tour setting, I loved the music, and I loved the ending! Even though the story is predictable, I enjoyed just about every minute of this book. From the very first chapter, I was hooked! It's heartfelt, smolder-y, and full of pining with tons of Spanish culture and pride. I loved Oliveras's incorporation of Spanish language dialogue, traditions, and themes while also forging a new, more modern path forward for the main characters the strong-yet-stubborn Catalina and the established-but-creatively-blocked Patricio. Cat and Patricio start out as enemies but very soon find themselves yearning for one another. They have terrific banter with one another, and some of their dialogue is scandalously delicious. Their chemistry is off-the-charts and top-notch! So beautiful and well-written! Both of their character arcs are spectacular and fully formed. There is also a terrific focus on mental health, as well as the mental strain being a celebrity can cause. And the MARIACHI MUSIC! This book is chock full of la música!

This book is the second in a series, but I did not read the first book and was able to keep up with what was going on just fine. I cannot WAIT to read more books from the incredibly talented Priscilla Oliveras!

Thank you to NetGalley, Priscilla Oliveras, and Montlake for providing me with an ARC copy of this book! All opinions are my own, and I was not compensated for my review.

3/5 Stars! Thank you NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review!

This was ok! Nothing too memorable. The characters were what rescued the plot. Cat was so confident and fiery and honestly inspiring. Her determination to pave a way for women to play in a mariachi band was amazing! Patricio was adorable in the way that he supports Cat and everything that she did. Unfortunately other than the characters, the plot was super dull and after I finished it, I couldn't really tell you much about the book.

Kiss Me, Catalina was my first book by Priscilla Oliveras, but it definitely won't be my last! I loved the back and forth of the romance, the slow burn, and the chemistry between Catalina and Patrick. Fun additions with the family and with mariachi music! A wonderful read!

Thank you to Montlake and Netgalley for this ARC in exchange for my honest review!

Thank you to Montlake and author Priscilla Oliveras for the advanced review copy of Kiss Me, Catalina, receipt of which did not impact my review.

Kiss Me, Catalina was a whirlwind of romance, family, and mariachi music! I adored Catalina and Patricio’s push and pull of a relationship both in work and love. The slow burn here made so much sense given where they were at the beginning of the story. And Cat’s family was wonderful - some of my favorite scenes were their meals together.

I really enjoyed this book! Cat and mariachi hunk Patricio, from West Side Love Story, are on tour together. Cat is tenacious and fixated on her goals, but the chemistry she and Patricio feel is obvious to audiences and everyone else. What will happen when the excitement of touring is over? Will they be able to continue their romance?
I recommend this book, 4 stars

Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed as in this review are completely my own.

Thank you to NetGalley for providing a copy in exchange of an honest review, The cover and the blurb sold me on this. I really like the characters and their family. Like someone said, it felt like watching a telenovela but instead of watching, you’re reading it,

Many of you might remember me raving about Priscilla Oliveras’s release from earlier this year, West Side Love Story. Well, its sequel Kiss Me, Catalina has just been released and it is just as much fun as the first book!

I adored this first book in this series and I definitely wasn’t disappointed by the sequel! Catalina and Patricio are such amazing characters and I loved how as the book goes on, their personalities get more and more nuanced.

This book also discusses the deep familial roots that influence both of these characters deal with and how their Latin heritage has made them into the people they are. Oliveras also dives into the world of mariachi and the music industry as a whole which I found especially interesting and thought it added so much more to the plot.

I could not get enough of the Capuleta girls and the insight into the culture and history of mariachi. Any romance lover will love this book and I sincerely hope that a book three for the Queens of Mariachi Series is in the works!

*I received an ARC from the author in exchange for my honest review.

Another amazing read by Pricilla Oliver as. She always manages to have the most beautiful captivating love stories. In kiss me Catalina, Cat is headstrong and knows just wants she wants in life and in love and is determined to get it. Patrick a mariachi sweetheart whose a little rough around the edges is determined to get her. Their love story is so magnetic it's hard to put this book down. A must read. Thanks Netgalley for allowing me to read this awesome book in exchange for my honest opinion.

There is not enough beautiful words in the world to describe Priscilla Olivera's work. She has a beautiful talent and I absolutely adore reading her books. The perfect balance between romance, family dynamics and well... fame. Two worlds collide when rising mariachi star gets a chance to prove herself by joining mega famous and hot mariachi singer on a tour. Charisma can be deceiving, and our heroine realizes this as soon as she met Patricio. Cat was expecting something else entirely and was not ready for the fireball that Patricio is. Can she match him step by step on every challenge he presents to her? And how do we find love along the way? That's for you to find out!

I have read multiple of Olivera's work and every single time I fall in love. With the characters, her writing style and obviously the story. I hope we get more Queens of Mariachi soon.

Catalina Capuleta has been offered a contract as a song writer for Patricio Galán's record label. She accompanies him on tour and is tasked with helping him write songs for his next album. However, the collaboration isn't going well, and Patricio is trying to keep Catalina at arm's length. Both will have to confront their past if they are to have a chance at a successful collaboration and at romance.

This was an okay read for me - I enjoyed the setting in the world of mariachi, but found the story line a bit predictable at times. Also, a large share of the conflict comes from miscommunication between the two protagonists, which could have been avoided and is a bit of a pet peeve for me.

Thank you Priscilla Oliveras for the eARC in exchange for my fair and honest review.

After listening to the first book in the Queens of Mariachi series, it took me a little while to get into reading this one as an ebook. It took me a while to get into it, not because of the book itself but because of life, and that’s just how it is sometimes.

Cat is an unapologetic and talented badass, who knows what she wants and will get it. Not only that, but she had this strong heart that allows her to love everyone in her life so passionately.

Patricio is a talented mariachi, an absolute hottie, and a sweetheart all in one. While he might be rough around the edges and have some major daddy issues, there is so much to love about him.

This couple’s energy throughout the entire book is absolutely electric. The tension in the air could be cut with a knife. I was rooting for them every step of the way.

The only thing about this book that wasn’t my favorite was Cat trying to control her adult sister’s love life, when she knew damn well she was falling for a mariachi, too! Her sister is a full grown adult. Let her life her life.

Overall, this book was so good! I loved it just as much (maybe even more) than the first one. Definitely go read it.

Feisty and unforgiving Catalina is signing record deal to work with famous Mariachi singer Patricio. As Cat is full steam ahead she vows not to let attraction get in the way of her music career. The more time Patricio and Cat spend together on tour and making music the more difficult it is to fight their feelings. Will Cat’s career go up in flames or will Patricio help her see not all mariachi singers are machismos? The book was a perfect blend of fun and steamy. I always enjoy learning about other cultures and traditions the book definitely makes the reader want to look up some mariachi music when finished!

I really enjoyed the Shakespearean telenovela vibes that suffuse every page of Kiss Me, Catalina. In Cat and Patricio, Priscilla Oliveras has written two compelling characters who grow and mature, together and separately, throughout the book. While the plot isn’t unexpected, Oliveras writes with an empathy and charm that kept me engaged. I didn’t realize prior to picking up this book that it’s the second in a series; now I have to go back and read Mariana’s story!

This was a fun second book in the Queens of Marachi series! I love reading Catalina and Patricio’s story.

These two characters can really relate and empathize with each other. While their past isn’t the same, they do share some similar themes which I think really helped the two to understand each other. Catalina really pulled Patricio out of his shell and tried to get him to show more of himself to the world.

I do wish there was a little more to the ending. Maybe a short epilogue? The ending just felt a little rushed to me!

You should definitely check out this series if you haven’t! They are fun decently quick reads!

This was a fun romance novel to read! There aren't enough Latina romances on the market and I felt this really merged in well and also stood out.
