An intriguing story. Lottie investigates the murder of a teenager not anticipating the deeply disturbing world she will have to enter. I had no idea how it would end up, the story was completely turned on its head. Very clever.

Lots of plot twists and turns that will keep you guessing. The title alone will have you trying to figure this one out because there are multiple young girls involved. A serial killer has committed multiple homicides. The killer is connected to quite a few bad guys in addition to the local drug gang. Pure suspense throughout the entire story. If you like an edge of your seat book, this one is for you. It's quite long (14.5 hours) but Michele Moran does an excellent job a narrator. She has a knack for injecting just the right amount of intrigue.

Listened on a flight out to a holiday so should have been a positive experience but it wasn’t. The story felt more like a ya book although I did think the narrator did her best.

Sadly another case of the netgalley app not working so I was unable to download this book fully and listen to it. Therefore I cannot comment on the narration but having read the actual book I can say it is a great addition to what is already a very good series.

From my blog: Always With a Book

This is the 11th book in Patricia Gibney’s Detective Lottie Parker series and this series is so incredibly good! Yes, it’s dark and not for everyone, but I do love my crime fiction and this detective series continues to be one of my favorites! And, I just found out that there will be at least a few more coming out, which makes me so happy!

Once again, we have a fresh and original story here with this latest installment. I’ve found that this has been the case with each and every book so far and as someone who read a lot of series and sometimes gets series fatigue, I have yet to feel that with this series. I get excited to read each new book, knowing I will not be getting the same old story, and more importantly I will be getting additional character development which has been the shining point in this series.

The case the Detective Lottie Parker and her team are called to work on is so much more than what it first appears to be. Her own son, Sean, is mixed up in the case and the case is far reaching, far beyond their little town of Ragmullin. I loved that it really kept me on my toes, and that as usual, we get some sections narrated by an unknown character that just adds to the tension and suspense of the overall story. This book is dark, yet I loved how some things are handled with sensitivity and care. That is just a testament to the writing of this author and why I love her books!

I think what really makes this series a success, in addition to the fact that it is non-stop action, is that the characters are so relatable. Lottie in particular is someone that many can see something of themselves in – she is a working mom, trying to make the best of what was a difficult situation. She now finds herself as part of the sandwich generation – she is taking care of her mom who isn’t doing that well in this installment and she has her teenage children to deal with, who often keep her on her toes trying to keep up with all that they get up to. She is very dedicated to her job and often is willing to do whatever it takes to solve a case, often to the detriment of herself or others. In this installment, we see her a few times go up against her superior because she is determined that she is so close to solving the case.

I cannot recommend this series enough. If you haven’t read any, start with this one and I promise you you will end up loving it and wanting to go back to the beginning. They are addicting, fast-paced reads that are just so good! I am already counting the days until the next one comes out!

Audio thoughts: This is the first time I’ve listened to one of these books and I think given the chance, I will continue to do so moving forward. The story translated so well onto audio and the narrator, Michele Moran, did such a great job with the voices and pacing. I was glued to my headphones and even though this is on the long side – just under 15 hours, I managed to finished it in just 2 days – I could not put it down!!!

Another gripping thriller from Lottie Parker’s detective that will you glued to the book until the end of the story. The twist in the plot are constant and make everyone a suspect. A seventeen years old girl is found brutally dead after a party at her house. Even Lottie’s son was there. Him and a bunch of teenagers, a DJ, a PE Teacher acting as a bouncer, But there is something more to the story that another girl involved in the murder. Will Lottie be able to solve the case before more victims appear? Great as audiobook.

This book was so good I couldn't put it down even if I wanted to. I had never read a Patricia Gibney book before this was sent over by Netgalley. I live this so much that her entire Lottie Parker Series has been added to my ever growing TBR. I love the fact this book has a female led police team and cant wait to read more, the detail adds an authenticity to the difficult topic, if you like hardcore thrillers it's a definite must read.

Ok, I now have another favourite author to read! This is the first time I have read any of Patricia's books, and I was quite surprised at how good it was. It reminded me of Angela Marsons' books, although they are also very different. Having read most of Angela's books and loving them, I will now be going to look for Patricia's other books, and I am sure I will have fun reading them.

In this book, Detective Inspector Lottie Parker attends a crime scene where a teenage girl called Lucy has been murdered after a party. As the story progresses, we find out what Lucy and other children have gone through in the past, and a lot of secrets are uncovered. Lottie and her team have to work hard to find and bring in the bad guys, and it was very interesting watching the investigation unfold. I really liked Lottie and the way her family life was also in the book along with her police work.

I loved this book, and I highly recommend it. I am off now to find Patricia's other books.

Many thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for a copy of this book.

This is my first Lottie Parker so had some catching up to do.
There are a lot of characters and found I needed to take notes (The hi-light feature is something I love when reading via Kindle).
I struggled with this story and, of course, it is my fault for not doing my homework ahead of time.
I did like the narrator so hung in there!

Book 11 in the fantastic DI Lottie Parker series. As with all the books in this series I don’t even need to read the blurb to know I’m going to love the book. Right from the prologue this book just had me completely hooked. Often I read crime thrillers and quite early on I have a fair idea of who the guilty person is but I honestly have to say I had no clue in this book. One chapter I was suspecting one character and then the next thing that idea went out the window and my suspicions were on someone else, and I just love that in a book. Patricia Gibney writes this series so well that at times I actually feel I’m there with the characters and going through all their emotions with them. The Guilty Girl is an utterly gripping crime thriller that had me on the edge of my seat at times. Now I’m eagerly awaiting Book 12.
