Ohh this book had me changing my mind so many times as to “who did it”!
I like a thriller that keeps me guessing and doubting whether I’m right or not and this one certainly did.
Even though I had my doubts and suspicions about certain characters, I was still drawn to them and even liked them which confused me even more considering what they had potentially done within the story!
This is a really enjoyable read from an author who’s work I have also previously enjoyed.

Sheryl Browne is one of those authors, I don’t even need to read the synopsis to know I want to read the book. She is absolutely a favourite Bookouture author and I highly recommend this book.

This book had me on the edge of my seat from page one. I have loved this and found this a book I have been unwilling to put down. I have loved all the twists and turns thrown into this one. My heart has been racing on times and I’ve found myself completely enthralled.

This is a plot filled with secrets and lies. Maddie and Kiara have a big secret and I desperately wanted to know more. This is perfectly paced and as always with Browne the writing is outstanding.

I have loved everything about this book. I can say nothing negative about Sheryl Browne. This is a wonderful book and I highly recommend. In fact, all of Browne’s books are must read.

Do I Really Know You? is a thriller in which Maddie tries to figure out whether her best friend committed suicide or was murdered. As she is asking questions and grieving, she learns about secrets that her friend had been hiding from her. This was a good thriller and an interesting novel. I enjoyed it but a lot of the plot twists were not really twists and were easily foretold. The characters were fine but I feel as though too much emphasis was placed on phobias. I don’t believe that everyone has a phobia that can paralyze them from fear.

Loved it. Friendships, love, revenge and gaslighting. Not much can go wrong with an interesting mix like this. A definite page turner for me and loved every bit of it.

Thank you Netgalley and Bookouture for the ARC

She’s your oldest friend and you tell each other everything. So you’d know if she’d done something terrible, wouldn’t you?

Maddie and Kiara have been best friends since they met on their first day at university. They have always shared everything with each other, everything except one big secret, which Kiara knows would tear them apart…

When the police knock on Maddie’s front door as she and husband Nick are getting ready for the morning school run, she’s not expecting to hear what they have to tell her.

Kiara is dead.

And when Kiara’s death is ruled as suicide, Maddie can’t believe it. She knew everything about her best friend, didn’t she?

Walking into the plush apartment Kiara only recently moved into, Maddie soon discovers that her best friend’s life wasn’t as happy as she thought. Is that blood on the kitchen floor? And why didn’t Kiara tell her about secret meetings with a man Maddie knows well?

What Maddie learns next has her questioning who her best friend really was. And now she’s discovered Kiara’s web of lies, could her own life be in danger?

Phew I can finally breathe, I think I held my breath all the way through this addictive physcological thriller. Amazing work, totally unpredictable. I loved it and will be highly recommended. Thank you netgalley and bookouture for this ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

Maddie and Kiara have been best friends since University. They are both married to different men and Maddie has two children. After a detective comes to her house one morning to tell her the Kiara has died, Maddie tries to figure out what really happened to her friend and if she really ever knew her as well as she thought.

Another quick and entertaining book by Sheryl Browne. I enjoyed the short chapters and the flashbacks from the past to the present. I was not very surprised by the ending, as I thought, I had it figured it out but I still really enjoyed this one. I'm looking forward to her future books and would recommend this to others.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for my ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Once again Sheryl Browne has written an excellent physiological thriller which she excels in.Maddie,Nathan,David and Kiara meet at university and quickly become best friends, when Nathan and Maddie get married and David and Kiara get married it seems like a natural progression, but Kiara has a phobia about spiders which she can’t shake off and she is literally petrified of them.So David agrees to move into an apartment to appease Kiara from the converted which David loved but that is when things start to go awry for them both, meanwhile Maddie suspects Nathan of having an affair and it doesn’t help with Nathan working away a lot.Full of suspense and twists and turns this book had me gripped from the first page to the last.I would certainly recommend it to anyone who enjoys this genre, A brilliant 5 star read.

Maddie, Kiara, Nathan, and David have been friends since university. But Maddie and Kiara have grown apart. And when Kia dies by supposed suicide, Mads wonders if she could have done something to protect her friend. She also questions if she or the mystery man in Kia's life was responsible. Will the friends be able to untangle the truth before the killer claims another victim?
This book does include plenty of suspense. I was guessing about the truth until the end. But it didn't grip me like other thrillers. It was more like subdued entertainment.
Also, there are plenty of potential triggers, including phobias, suicide, mental health, substance abuse.
I really appreciate the author's note at the end and the helpful inclusion of the information about gaslighting and emotional abuse.

This, my eighth novel by the talented author Sheryl Browne was as absorbing and exhilarating as the previous ones, including The Marriage Trap, The New Girlfriend, The Invite and The Liar's Child. In Do I Really Know You? Maddie and Kiara have been friends since meeting at University. They met their respective husbands, Nathan and David there as well and have remained close friends since. One day, Maddie is getting the children, Ellie and Josh ready for school, there's a knock at the front door and when Nathan answers, interrupting his Zoom meeting, the police reveal that Kiara is dead...

With red herrings and curveballs, this well-told fabulously layered and plotted tale of friendship, addiction and abuse is a fantastic read. The author's characterisation is as tremendous as ever. Very highly recommended.

I received a complimentary copy of this novel from Bookouture via NetGalley at my request and this review is my own unbiased opinion.

Wow! What a ride! This story will have you on the edge of your seat. Who killed Kiara? Who is sleeping with who? I couldn't tell where this twisted tale would end. I didn't guess the ending. What a surprise. I didn't see that coming.

I loved that someone is using the friends greatest fears against them. That was by far my favorite and the creepiest part.

I haven't read anything by Sheryl Browne but I will start now. Thanks for netgalley and HQ digital for this ARC

Do I Really Know You? That’s a big question I mean do we ever really know anybody? As children we see our parents one way as adults another. In fact I’m pretty positive the only person we truly know is ourselves, but what happens when someone undermines that? Makes us question the words we have spoken, choices we have made or even our own sanity.

Maddie and Kiara had terrific back stories which gave you an understanding into how and why they are who they became. How things that happen in adolescence can change your whole persona and the life you will lead. While some information you feel is hiding in the background like the ticking of a countdown other shocks happen like the detonation of that bomb.

The use of fear is cleverly ramped up by the manipulation of phobias. You don’t even want to know about the jar scene? For some this will be absolutely terrifying, luckily I’m hardcore and the only thing that has the ability to scare me is my mum (even though I’m nearly 50 all it takes is that look, you know the one I’m talking about!)

I was completely wrong at the reveal and it was all down to the author using her own devious form of manipulation. This is one of those books where as you are looking out the window the killer strides right in through the front door. If this was a horror movie I would have been shouting at you to turn around and probably too late.

Four friends in college become friends later in life. They go about their lives content until Kiara is found dead from a suicide jumping off of a balcony. Everyone thinks it's a usual suicide until Maddie gets to thinking about her friend's death.
Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC and to the publisher Bookouture.

📚📖 BOOK REVIEW 📖📚

📖 Book - Do I really know you
✍️ Author - Sheryl Browne
📕 Publisher - Bookouture
🗓 Publication Date - 19th July 2022

Maddie & Kiara have been friends since meeting at University. They met both their husbands there as well and have remained close friends ever since.

The timeline jumps back and forward quite a bit . I think that was causing me to get a bit confused at the start, but that’s not a negative towards the book, it’s me!
One of the friends is informed her oldest friend has died suddenly. It’s hard to believe as she was planning stuff for the future.
Few chapters in and I had to keep going.!! Twisty and gripping!

I have read this author before and always enjoy her books.

Maddie, Kiara, David and Nathan have all been friends since university. Maddie is married to Nathan, and Kiara is married to David. And one day, Maddie learns that Kiara just killed herself. She is really confused because Kiara seemed fin. so she starts digging. And the more she digs, the more she uncovers secrets...
Warning: this book contains a LOT of spiders. It wasn't as twisty and suspenseful as advertised as I guessed it all in the first quarter of the book, but I enjoyed the ride for the most parts. This phsychological thriller is told in multiple POVs in multiple timelines by mostly unreliable characters. I found the similar names to be confusing at times (Katie-Kiara-Kim, Josh-Jake). I found most of the interactions with the kids to be superfluous and not useful to the story. And I found Maddie sometimes makes very questionnable decisions. But the author is really good in conveying the fear, I got chills at times.
I received an advance review copy for free from NetGalley and Bookouture, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

WOWZA! This book grabbed my attention on page one and had me on the edge of my seat, flipping the pages, as I did not want to put this book down. What an aptly titled book as well! Do I Really Know You? looks at relationships and how well you know people in your life. Browne has outdone herself with this book!

Maddie and Kiara have been friends since university, and they get together with their husbands as often as they can. They share everything including a secret which Kiara trusted Maddie with at university. The foursome has shared many things together including what their phobias are. Kiara, for instance is terrified of spiders. It's a common fear but for her it is a full-blown phobia which has an impact on her daily life.

Everything changes when Maddie feels that Kiara is trying to avoid her. Something is going on but what???? Then Maddie gets a knock on the door - the worst kind of knock- it's the police informing her that Kaira is dead.

As Maddie is processing her friend's death, it becomes clear that her friend has been keeping things from her. Secrets that once exposed, could change everything.

Secrets and lies are the name of the game here folks! This book was full of juicy twists and turns which kept me on my toes. As usual, Browne's writing was top notch and the book moved at a very nice pace. I enjoyed watching the characters and their reactions. I felt like the proverbial spider (fly) on the wall watching as everything unfolded. This was such a clever and well thought out whodunit. I love doing my own detective work while reading and I did not see the reveal coming!

If you have not read a book by Sherly Browne, this is a great place to start. Is it too soon to be on the lookout for her next book??

Clever, well thought out, well written and gripping!

Browne knocks it out of the park again with another fantastic piece of thriller/mystery drama.

Very well written with an intricately woven plot that questions just how well can you really know someone.

A suspenseful page turner of a read that certainly kept me guessing throughout. It dips into the world of gaslighting and there are spiders, lots of spiders!

With each of the complex characters having their own story to tell which we find out through a series of flashbacks, alongside secrets and lies, I found Do I Really Know You to be a highly entertaining, addictive read and I would definitely recommend.

Many thanks to Bookouture for my tour spot.
