Honestly, I LOVED it. This was such a nice enjoyable read, which I absolutely devoured in two days. Perfect for a summary beach read.

I really enjoyed the banter between Aiden & Mia, and the grumpy guy sunshine girl dynamic between them too. I think it was the "perfect" amount of it too.
Also, I SWOONED every time "Honey" came out Aiden's mouth. The double POV'S was a really nice addition too so that we could see Aiden's true feelings.

Look no further, Aiden is your next book boyfriend. The chemistry between him and Mia is off the charts sexy, steamy, with just the right dose of sweet. There's humor, a bit of angst, and a lot of heart. I loved my visit to this little community full of great characters. I even loved to hate Rainer. I'm never disappointed with a Melanie Munton book and this one is all the reasons why. I can't wait for more!

In this story we follow the life of Mia Sparks, small town girl from Shell Grove who isn’t too sure what she’s meant to do in life and CEO Aiden Beaumont. Aiden is the typical grumpy, most hated man of the town. Mia begins working at his newly built resort and things kick off from there. This book has grumpy sunshine, workplace romance and a small town romance.

I felt like their relationship wasn’t genuine. It seemed to based mainly on lust. I did not like the way Aiden thought of Mia, he did nothing but over sexualize her. He was also EXTREMELY possessive of her to the point that I thought it was becoming psychotic.. this book was just not for me. I also was not a fan of the third person narrator.. we were still able to know what was going through both of their minds but it was just a bit strange to me.

I loved Mia and Maggie! Especially the relationship the two of them shared. The relationship between their friend group was also adorable!

I’d like to thank NetGalley for providing me with an e-arc in exchange for an honest review.

Although I liked the relationship between the protagonist and her group of friends, the insta love trope didn’t allow me to enjoy the book as much as I thought I would.

I didn’t like the formatting of the book, it was quite weird and it made kind of hard to read, sometimes I couldn’t even understand if I reached or not the end of the chapter.

Overall, I liked the writing style and, even though I didn’t particularly like the book, I will give this author another chance.

Read this in one night!! I loved it, but the slow burn was killing me!! Loved the dual POVs. If this were just in Mia’s POV you definitely wouldn’t have known about Aiden’s true feelings towards her. I look forward to reading more by this author!

REASONS WHY NOT TO DATE PUBLIC ENEMY CEO is a perfect beach/swimming pool read. It's light, fun and has sizzle.

Set at a beach resort/hotel, Mia is the people pleasing extraordinarily nice co-worker everyone loves - because she does their work. She genuinely likes people, unlike the new CEO Aiden. He's our grump in this story.

We see the two become entangled in a will they-won't they war. Aside from their own reasons to not like each other, the seaside town likes to throw them obstacles as well.

I thought the story had a bit of a slow pace until Mia's ex-husband comes back to town.

My issue with this story was the cast of side characters. There was too much focus on a large amount of characters, such as Mia's family, friends, some of the townspeople - along with their own significant others.

I'm not sure if a series is coming and that's why we learned so much about these others, but at times - particularly in the beginning - they were too many to keep up with.

Sometimes these side characters and their own stories take away from the focus on the two love interests getting together.

However, I think REASONS WHY NOT TO DATE PUBLIC ENEMY CEO is the perfect, light book to read while enjoying wine or lemonade at the pool.

Thank you to NetGalley and Mia Munton for an e-copy of REASONS WHY NOT TO DATE PUBLIC ENEMY CEO to review.

I rate REASONS WHY NOT TO DATE PUBLIC ENEMY CEO four out of five stars.

SWOON! This was a wonderfully sweet and spicy rom com that had me laughing, nearly-crying, and tingling in all the right places!

Shell Grove is a breath-taking small seaside town where everyone knows everything about everyone.. except the CEO of the new resort in town. Everyone just thinks they know everything about Aiden. He is the grumpy, rigid, career focused CEO that’s in town for a few weeks getting his new business established. Mia on the other hand is the sweet, kind, girl next door that everyone adores who found a job working at the new resort. The pair find themselves drawn together like magnets in this fast-paced workplace romance.

Personally, I loved this book and would recommend it as a great summer read for romance lovers who don’t mind a little smut. The only reason why I wouldn’t rate it 5 stars is because of the dirty talk in the smut. It was slightly distracting to me but didn’t deter from my intrigue of the story and its characters overall. I also fell in love with some of the other characters in the book and am hoping to get to read Maggie and Finn’s story in the future!

The town definitely had an opinion about opening this glamorous five start resort but it was undoubtedly a good choice for tourism and business of this small town. The Sapphire was the perfect change for sunshine- people driven Mia Sparks. Mia is a 26 year old divorcee who is originally from this small town and looking for a change. That is how she ended up as a guest relations representative. But she does more than her job entails… and here comes CEO of resort who questions this — Aiden Beaumont. The devil, the grumpy man that brought this change to Shell Grove aka probably the most hated man in this small town. However when this two meet things take a turn and he just cant stay away!

the sexual tension was there — oh let me tell you, it was there alright! Aiden was utterly infatuated with Mia and I think I died a little when she called him sir. Aiden sarcastic humour killed me, almost as much as Mia’s awkwardness. How she managed to always find a way to put her foot in her mouth, I will never know! Aiden could not be more obsessed with Mia even if he tried. Since minute one he was a tad bit protective of her — no matter if it was the guy that was near her were his colleagues, her own brother or even when talking about the ex-husband. He knew he wanted her and he was not going to let her go!

Like how was I not suppose to like it, it had grumpy/sunshine, workplace, AND forbidden tropes! I was sold from minute one

This is a perfect summer read!

Reasons Why Not to Date Public Enemy CEO by Melanie Munton, 3.5/5 stars.

This was my first read by Melanie Munton and any plot line with a rich CEO that's grumpy to everyone but her, you got me. That's exactly what I was expecting from this book and that's exactly what was delivered. If you're into the grumpy-sunshine trope or a work place romance this will be perfect for you!

The main character, Mia, was so likeable and so fun to read about. I liked that she tried city life and chose to move back to her small home town, it was refreshing to see a character that chose the small town life rather than was stuck there. She was funny, sassy, and overall just a great main character to read about.

Mr. CEO himself, Aiden, was a hottie!! I loved how even though he came across as kind of grumpy, he was so lovestruck by Mia from day one. He was instantly drawn to her and I was squealing at the parts when all he wanted to do was be near her or even just see her. And clearly, this man knows how to please!!! The spicy parts of the book were the perfect mild spice and I think fit their relationship so well!

This romance was the perfect middle ground between instant hook up and a slow burn. I loved Mia and Aiden together and I found myself loving the little town of Shell Grove! Seeing as there's a #1 in the title, I'm fully anticipating this to be a series and based on the glimpses of the side characters we got to meet I'm excited for the future books! There were just a few editing mistakes that kept pulling me out of the world of the book and of course it was a more predictable story, but that's what I was in the mood for and I almost read the entire thing in one sitting!

In Reasons Why Not to Date Public Enemy CEO, we follow Mia Sparks — the beloved small-town girl of Shell Grove who can’t quite seem to know what she’s meant to do — and Aiden — the grumpy and big shot CEO of a new resort that disrupted the peaceful life in Shell Grove. Needless to say, he’s Shell Grove’s number one most hated man.

This book is a whirlwind grumpy/sunshine romance, which kind of hinted at an enemies-to-lovers trope, but doesn’t quite get there.

I honestly can’t put a finger on what’s so off about this book, but it was honestly quite disappointing. This couple would definitely break up years into their relationship. I guess that’s how best I can put it.

What I enjoyed about this book is the friendship between Mia and her group of friends. I enjoyed their banter and care for each other. I especially love how playful Maggie is. The friendship is genuine and something that was quite well-developed in the book. I would have liked to see deeper into that, though.

What was disappointing was the pace of Aiden and Mia’s relationship. I understand it is love-at-first-sight but there was just not enough build-up to enjoy. It went from zero to one hundred real quick. It’s hard for me to grasp that this is a “romantic” or a “romance” book because it just felt like one whole book of sexual frustration. I felt like Aiden and Mia didn’t really connect, or if they did, the reader was left out of it. There weren’t as many sparks as I expected,

Oh, and okay, I get it that they were both so horny towards each other but… sex to prove her love? That’s a red flag, isn’t it? And in some parts, it feels like Mia’s being objectified. I’m trying my best to understand that it happens, but it’s just a no from me with how it was done here.

I’ll have to be honest though, this book is funny and enjoyable, so it’s not entirely bad.

REVIEW: I didn´t like the book. It´s not that it´s bad, because I liked the writing, but when the characters got together, and Aiden started with the possessivenees, it was a turn off for me, I can´t stand that. "Stay there, honey", "Do that, honey". Honey, really??? I was enjoying the book until that moment.
I liked Mia at the beginning, the cousin Maggie was funny, but I couldn´t empathize with him.

This was a quick light summery read. The dialog and banter back and forth was funny and enjoyable. It was cute for a summer romance, but not my favorite summer romance.

I did not enjoy the body shaming that kept getting mentioned in the book. There was a lot of talk about Mia needing to lose weight and talk about needing to shed her chubbiness. As a female with a mom bod after having a baby, this did not make me feel good and I hate the way it can make other females feel about themselves as well.

if you’re looking for a quick and light summer read then you might enjoy this book
It has grumpy/sunshine and workplace tropes which I love, however it can be considered insta love which is not my favourite.
The formatting and writing of some parts of the book made it hard for me to get through and I had to skim through them.

I’ve read hundreds of romance books over the years—some good, some bad. This one falls somewhere in the middle. My problem with it was that it was trying too hard to be one of the good ones. Here’s why: Aiden was absurdly jealous and overprotective for knowing Mia for just a couple of weeks. The fact that he was a grumpy CEO was made clear more times than it needed to be. Steaminess wise, it promised over and over that something good was coming, but then it completely glossed over the main event. It’s redeeming qualities were Mia kicking ass at her job, the comic relief in Maggie and Cosmo the cat, LOL. Overall, not my favorite, but I’m giving it three stars for effort.

Things I love: billionaire romance, grumpy/sunshine, and a small beach town. This book delivered all 3! This was a good slow burn romance and I loved the banter between Mia and Aiden, but for some reason I couldn’t fully connect with the characters. I did have an issue with the horrible kindle formatting which made this extremely difficult to read.

Book Review:
2.5 ⭐️’s

I went into this book unsure how I’d feel after reading other reviews, but then realized I was genuinely enjoying it. It felt like it would end up being somewhere between 3.5 - 4 stars for me. I enjoyed that it was an ongoing romance and I found much of the dialogue and banter to be funny. However, I couldn’t get past the change of tense in the writing every time the author used the word “whenever”. It was so glaringly obvious and I don’t know how that made it past editing. It was ok to overlook the first couple of times, but it was throughout the entire book and it just confused me. The ending was ok. After enjoying most of their relationship m, it was a bit abrupt to have to deal with an immature conflict that shouldn’t have happened.

Also, I absolutely couldn’t get on board with how much talk there was about Mia either needing to loose weight or the emphasis on how and when she did “shed her chubbiness”. Unacceptable and rubbed me the wrong way.

Overall I think many may like this book, but ultimately it was not for me.

Thank you to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for gifting me this ARC in exchange for a review.

Overall, the story is cute and an enjoyable read. It was an easy one-sitting read perfect for summer on the porch. The few issues I had. First, the formatting was horrible. The chapter starts were awkward often just starting with a single letter or missing the first letter of a word. I'm not sure if they were sub chapters or short chapters but numbers throughout the book sometimes in the middle of words or sentences. There were also a lot of typos throughout. All of these things were quite distracting and took away from the overall experience.

As for the book itself, could have done with a little less of the body shaming throughout. It felt disingenuous and didn't add to the story...nor is it important to constantly comment on a woman's size and shape.

This book is set on the summery beaches in the south. If follows Aiden, the gruff CEO of a new beach side resort that’s not popular among the folks in the small town. It also follows Mia, a woman trying to find her calling and takes a job at the resort. Needless to say these two opposites are definitely attracted to each other and their passions run amok.

This book relies on certain tropes: Instalove, grumpy CEO, sweet small town girl, and a quasi forbidden romance. Besides the fact that she is his employee, Aiden is afraid to ruin her reputation with the people in town since so many people don’t like him he doesn’t want her tarnished by association.

This book is filled with great secondary characters that can definitely fulfill the needs of more books in the series (seriously I want the Olivia and Ben book now). And the main characters definitely had all the sexual tension to keep me turning the pages for more of them. However, the build up was definitely better than the execution and the phrase “pink clam” was just not appealing to me in anyway.

This was a good beach read romance that I would recommend to someone looking for this type of romance. The dirty talk was excellent between the characters but the sex at the end wasn’t as graphic as I had anticipated it to be. All in all it was a fun read that I think people will enjoy.

You say billionaire romance with the grumpy x sunshine trope and I say SOLD. Add in the forbidden love element and I absolutely devoured this book.

Aiden is a big shot CEO who builds a brand new resort in the small town of Shell Grove. Seeing this new fancy resort go up in their beach community, the town views Aiden as public enemy number one. Mia is Shell Grove local who accepts a job at the new resort despite the very real risk of being alienated from her community. After their first encounter, Mia and Aiden can’t seem to stay away from one another despite any potential relationship being forbidden.

What proceeds next is a swoon worthy slow burn romance full of pining and small town fun. Aiden and Mia are total opposites but they can’t deny their mutual attraction to each other. Aiden is also the definition of boy falls first and harder trope! There’s nothing I love more than a MC needing to stay away from the heroine but not being able to.

Overall, this was a fun, steamy read that is perfect for readers who love workplace romances and grumpy billionaire heroes.
