This is the first marriage of convince I’ve read where one spouse needs health insurance.
Erika is a professional soccer player who has just found out she has arthritis. She needs a good dr but it must be discreet or she could lose the chance to play on the World Cup team.
Nate owns a video game company. He works hard and has no time to spare for a relationship. However, his Oma wants to see him married before she dies.
A chance meeting in a bar has them marrying to benefit them both and then we get to watch as they try not to fall for each other.
I loved this spin. There is not a a lot of angst or drama. My only complaint is a big apology & exchange through text. I felt like the aggrieved party deserved more.

I enjoyed this book SO much! I requested because I love marriage of convenience and I was super curious about Erika being a professionar soccer player, but then I read that this book had disability rep (Erica has rheumatoid arthritis) and she's bisexual, so I was even more interested. It's so important to see bi folks in m/f relationships too to stop the erasure!

So, I truly liked this story. At first, I was shocked because the marriage happens fast, but I loved that they got to know each other slowly after that. I loved their attraction and chemistry, and I think their personalities were a very good match. Nate was such a good, gentle hero (I also loved his relationship with Oma), and I loved Erika and her strenght.

The steam was SO GOOD. They sexual chemistry was unmatched. I think this is one of my favorites in terms of steam. The communication and just the vibe between them made it truly awesome.

Something else I loved was that they fought a few times, but they always ended up communicating and fixing it without dramatic break ups. I adored this part. I think fighting but being mature enough to take time to cool off and fixing it together is way better than breaking up at the first little inconvenience.

Overall, I really liked this book and I cannot wait for Rose's and Lauren's respective books! 2023 is already looking good on the sapphic front.

Thank you so much to the author and Netgalley for my ARC!

Firstly, I wanted to thank NetGalley and Victoria Editing for the e-arc so that I could share an honest review about the book. Erika has rheumatoid arthritis and it impacts her body a lot especially since she’s a professional soccer player. I loved how much Nate cared for her and was always there for her if she needed him. She’s a strong person and you can tell she doesn’t like to depend on others, especially when asking for help. The pacing in the beginning threw me off a bit just because it was very fast but once i got passed that, I thought it was good. Oma was so cute and I really loved Donut. I am a sucker for pets in books and wish we got to see a little more of Donut. The drama at the end felt a little bit unnecessary and rushed but it was overall a cute, light, and fun read!

Unfortunately, this was a DNF for me fairly early on.

The first thing to catch my attention was the title. And based on context clues, I was pleased to discover that the two main characters would enter a marriage of convenience, a favorite trope of mine. Also, I loved that the heroine was the athlete in this sports romance.

My main issue was the insta-love. That's something I never enjoy in my romance novels since it eliminates all of the stakes and angst for me. Overall, I doubt the book is bad, it just wasn't for me.

Thank you to NetGalley, the author and the publisher for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

The first book I’ve ever read with a bi MC!

Professional Soccer Player Ericka needs medical insurance and Business Man Nate need someone to marry in order to appease his oma. It’s an unlikely match, but it just might work.

My favorite things about the book:
- Ericka is bi!
- The disability representation within the soccer industry.
- I just really liked ericka’s character (minus the end conflict)

My least favorite things about the book:
- The ending conflict felt unnecessary, especially since every other conflicts were very anti-climactic.
- Sort of left a plot-hole when it comes to Ericka’s ex and what happened with them.
