This was a first time read for me by this author. The storytelling was well done and entertaining and the characters were interesting. The story caught my attention from the beginning and held it all the way through. It was an enjoyable story combining both romance and drama resulting in quite an intriguing read. The interactions between the characters were also believable and well-written, and the character development was nicely done.
I received a complimentary copy from Netgalley and am voluntarily leaving my review.

This book was an enjoyable read.
Spoiler alerts.
The heroine is a younder sister, but at 24 years old, and is living on her own with her aunt. She visits her sister and family often. She also provides charity to people in her parish. She met the hero in such a way. She was giving a sick person from her parish herbs, medicinals and foods when a young man tried to take her purse. The hero, who was dressing at his mistress's house, saw her out the window. He ran to help her and she was snippy bcz he was not acting properly. He continues on his way, after making sure his mistress knew he was ending their relationship. His parents want him to get married and keep referring him to proper debutantes. He does not want a debutante. So the next time they meet, her nephews have gotten away from her by chasing a squirrel that landed on their mother's har. They chase the squirrel across a park and when about to go into traffic, the hero saves them, then meets the heroine again. They become introduced by her sister. He is really intrigued. She doesn't want males attention. She dresses in a very proper manner. She has a large bosom and many men have been rude, ogled her and she has some rude names floating about. She determines she never wants to get married when she is attacked by a man she knows. He says he was courting her, but it is all in his mind. The hero sees her being attacked and takes command. The heroine doesn't think men are sincere and tries to deny any attraction between them.
The story was nice and a bit wordy, like Regency novels can be. Every detail is listed so you can immerse yourself into the book. It is very well written. I would give it 4 stars and recommend reading it.

An entertaining and fun read with a dastardly villain in the mix. A sweet clean romance. I received this as a complimentary copy and I am giving my honest review voluntarily.
