This is a Children's book that I read to my kids. This book is written in Verse, and I found it hard to understand some of the pages because of how it was written. I found my kids found following what the book was trying to say on some of the pages hard to understand. I did love the pictures, and I also loved that this book gives you some great ideas of what to visit when you travel to London. I was kindly provided an e-copy of this book by the publisher (Frances Lincoln Children's Books) or author (Patricia Toht) via NetGalley, so I can give an honest review about how I feel about this book. I want to send a big Thank you to them for that.

I really liked this book. There were so many tourist places and descriptions of them in poem form. It felt like going on a vacation! There is more information about London in the back of the book to go deeper.

A great introduction to London. The Illustrations were lovely. I particularly liked the poems for Speakers' Corner and The Globe. The seek and find game for Trafalgar Square was a wonderful addition as was the map of the River Thames and the find out more section with facts at the end.

This book was beautiful, I was kindly given a ARC in e-book format, but I will be buying this book for niece who is 7 to read before she goes London during the holidays.

I love adore London it is my favourite place in the world, it is a city I have been lucky to visit many times, these days due to poor health travelling to London is not possible, this book brought back some lovely memories, it included all the main sights you would expect from a book about being on a London Red Top Bus but also less known ones and some my favourite things to do while in London ( Shopping, Afternoon Tea, Theatre)

The book has beautiful illustrations of the main London landmarks, I really like how they captured not only the landmark but the goings on around the landmark, the ever changing British weather and the general hustle n bustle of the wonderful city that is London.

Each page has poem explaining a little about the landmark/activity these are funny, cute and actually give factual information plus they rhyme , great for language development and to encourage discussion .

The full book from the poems to the illustrations have a lovely British feel about them, totally twee. It give me the same warm feeling I had while watching Paddington Bear have tea with the Queen.

I really liked the last few pages that explained a little in more details some facts, history and expansions on the poem, these were all in little boxes with actual photograph of the landmark and a paragraph of information.

This book would suit children from around 4 to older children around 10, the poems are fun and the pictures eye catching, the later pages with more information is perfect to keep the older readers interested. This book will also make a good gift for any big kids going to London or who love the city. Younger children and adults will enjoy reading this together, and older children should be able to easily read on their own but am sure they will want to share the information they learn and show the beautiful art work to everyone.

I particularly liked he river tames page( eastenders map spring to mind) I thought they way that the poem was written in river stream was cute and would really appeal to little ones. Also loved the mention of the Cat Museum within the British Museum which is a firm favourite of mine.

Gorgeous book all about a truly gorgeous city even in the rain. It is cucumber finger sandwiches with royal blend tea followed by a big slice of Victoria sponge in a certain London hotel a utterly wonderful treat.

Well, whether you justify this book's appearance on the school shelf because it's about London, or because it's a colourful and lively and varied poetry book, this is something that takes very few minutes to prove its worth. The tour of all the locations gets different treatment, verse-wise, with pretty much everything being very strong on rhyme and meter – even the British Museum haikus are rhyming. We see all the sights, and gain a spot-the-mentioned-detail aspect when arriving at Trafalgar Square. After the day-long narrative has spent its course we get to factoids about everything we've seen – and the only goof that I saw, that said the Thames is Britain's longest river. A shame, as this book had until then done what it wanted to exceptionally well. Still, four and a half stars should serve as strong encouragement in favour of this wonderful volume.

Such a fun little book about the most famous sights in London, described in poetry (often humorous and including various forms such as haiku), and complete with detailed, uplifting illustrations. There is a useful section at the end with more information about each landmark. Both native Londoners (and frequent visitors) and young first-time tourists to London will find this an entertaining read!

'All Aboard the London Bus' is a fun book of poetry that let's you travel around town, see the sights, and add a few more stops to the travel bucket list! The illustrations are a nostalgic nod to the Richard Scarry books - relatable, familiar, and packed with small details. A really good read.

WHO SHOULD READ IT: This book is great for Pre-K through elementary. The prose and art are engaging. Additionally, it would make a great addition to a unit study on London or anyone taking a trip there with kids.

All Aboard the London Bus takes us on a wonderful rhyming tour around London and introduces us to city landmarks through 24 fun to read, child friendly poems. There are many references to London’s history as well as the inclusion of architectural and cultural aspects – travelling on the tube, drinking tea and rain!

A family of four invites us to climb on a London bus for a tour. It’s a busy day which starts with watching the Changing of the Guard at Buckingham Palace and ends up at The Tower of London.

Each landmark is shown in a beautifully illustrated double spread and is labelled with a street sign. We’re huge fans of Sam Usher and love the inclusion of so many intricate details in his illustrations. Each is a work of art. They capture the vibrance of London, the essence of its diverse crowds, the domes and spires that dominate its skyline and the architectural features of palaces and churches.

Our particular favourites are the way that The London Eye is described as ‘a bracelet that hangs off the arm of the Thames’, the poem describing Sir Christopher Wren rebuilding St. Paul’s Cathedral and the letter written by Tower Bridge to clear up any misunderstanding about its name, ‘London Bridge and I are NOT the same!’.

This isn't just a fun picture book for children, it’s an amazing travel guide for readers of all ages!

<b> All Aboard the London Bus </b> is a Children's picture book that showcases a double decker bus that travels throughout different sights in London that you may come enjoy if you visit.

The cover artwork is adorable and I love this style, it reminds me a lot of illustrators from the 90s.

Throughout the pages you'll visit and learn about places such as Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, and the Tower of London. The content is well thought out, easy to read, and the font choices are clean and simple.

We loved that there's certain sections of the book that have activities such as the search and find. It kept our toddler completely enamored with the book from start to finish.

At the end there's some information about learning more about London, which was a nice touch.

5 Stars. Would recommend and we'll be adding this to our collection.

All Aboard the London Bus is a great book of interesting and fun information and facts about London for children. The illustrations are fantastic and I loved the rhyming verses as the book progresses through sights to see in London. This would make a great book for any child to have before or during a trip to London. There's some fun things to do in this book and interesting information to take away from it too!

This is a fantastic book to introduce kids to hot spots of London! The drawings are helpful, the poems informational and entertaining. I wish I'd found this book before visiting London earlier this year, as it's an easy way to gain a little bit of insight into the attractions without reading a hum-drum description for adults. Still, it's a fun way to reflect on places we went to in London, and it whets my appetite for going back to explore more.
I'd highly recommend this book for anyone going to London or who wants to go.

I loved this book! Beautifully illustrated and well written, I am sure this will be a BIG hit!

Lots of children had their first glimpse of the capital over the jubilee weekend in June and this is a great way of showing them a little bit more of London, and what amazing sights there are without having to travel anywhere (or a great way of preparing for a trip there)! The rhyming text is fab and the book includes a great selection of some of the favourite tourist spots in our capital; city.

Lots to learn and see in this one little book, fantastic!

I read this with my five year old daughter and we both loved it! The story has a good rhythm and the illustrations are wonderful!

3.5 stars. Wonderful illustrations, beautiful rhyming but a lot of words most 4 to 7 year olds don’t know - e.g. cacophony. This will need to be a read out loud book. Would recommend this to one going to London to get a preview of what they’ll see and find out about the city.

This is book is just lovely!! An absolute must for anyone visiting London with children.

Each page features a different London attraction, and information is given about it in rhyme, making it child friendly, informative and entertaining. The graphics are stunning and there are some very nice features, including a very special page dedicated to the Thames, and a 'search and find' page.

Having read this book to a 4 year old and a 7 year old, I can advise it was a very big hit with them both, and a book we will be sure to read again and again before we visit London!

Lots of boxes are ticked for this delightful children’s book about the attractions of London. Rhymes (even one haiku), colorful illustrations with lots of details to look at, accurate depictions of the landmarks, and some creative placement of the texts.

I would give this to a child just about to visit this most wonderful city to ramp up the excitement and anticipation.

This rhyming picture book tells about all of the important landmarks in London by including interesting facts and detailed illustrations. The book ends with a short description of each landmark for more information. There is lots of great information about London in the book and the illustrations are neat. The idea going on a tour and riding on a double decker bus is also sure to excite readers. I would recommend this book to parents and teachers of children in the age 4-9 range who want to learn more about London. I could see using this book for Social Studies lessons about England/Europe and landmarks or structures. The cover of this book caught my eye and while I don't usually read picture books that often - I had to request and hope. I got approved and I found this to be charming book. The rhymes were on point and the illustrations wonderful. It brought back memories of my two trips to London and makes me wish to go again. I would say that if you are going to take a child to London, this would make a great introduction to all the sights they will see in an easy understandable format. If as an adult, you pick up this book it will probably bring back memories of the excitement you felt visiting a foreign locale. 5 stars for the author and illustrator.
