Callum MacKeefe has his rules for the Horn and Hoof Tavern. Nash MacKeefe is next to take his punishment for breaking the rules. He must travel to the MacKenzie clan and help repair their cottages after an attack from the Sutherlands, especially to learn to rethatch roofs. His teacher is the woman he must marry, Kellina MacKenzie. They begin as enemies, but will share the same pain. Moves at a steady pace with action, humor, the bond of friends and sexual heat.
Heat level 4 🔥🔥🔥🔥

The biggest outcast punishment in this series so far, thatching roofs and a marriage to bring an alliance between clans.

I really liked the tension that was brought out in this book. Kellina and Nash both had to deal with the deaths of their parents at the hands of eachother's clans. Of course being put into a marriage they didn't choose added even more. This made for some angst in their blooming romance.

I have really liked all of the charts in this series so far and this book wasn't any different. I always love it when there are strong female characters like Kellina that aren't afraid of hard work or even wearing breeches. Some of the family secrets being revealed definitely added to the plot and helped bring the main characters together more.

I'm excited for book 4 and to find out what North's punk will be since each seems more involved than the previous one!

Thank you to Dragonblade and Netgalley for providing me a copy of this ARC for my honest review.

She Is the Light in HIs Life:
This is Nash's story with him being the third out of the four MacKeefe's outcasts.
Nice start with a little recap of sorts of the previous outcast characters and their family.
Nash soon finds out from old Cullum his penance for damaging the roof of The Horn and Hoof tavern and he is not one bit happy.
This is where we meet Kellina his soon to be bride from an enemy's village.
At this point the story picks up speed and had me on a twisty whirlwind of emotions.
We follow the two where they each had to overcome so much anger, grief, hurt, sadness, along with discovering their growing undeniable feelings for each other.
This is a fast-paced story filled with angst, humor, many surprises, shocking life changing
confession, and an extremely thrilling ending.
This book seemed to me a bit less humorous and more serious than the first two books.
All are enjoyable to read, and each book can be a standalone story, but I enjoyed revisiting past characters from the previous books.

I was granted and early readers copy for my honest opinion.

Nash MacKeefe, his twin brother and two other friends got into trouble with old Callum. They all got banished from the Clan until they complete their assigned task. Two have finished theirs in previous books. Now it's Nash's turn, and he feels it's the worst punishment yet. Perhaps because he is a twin, our hero always wants to be the best at anything.

Kellina MacKenzie is a fierce young woman . She fought alongside the few men who were at home with the Clan when they were attacked by the Sutherlands. She knows her Clan desperately need help but why must it come from old enemies and at such a price??

Our heroine is stubborn and has a huge chip on her shoulder. Can peace ever be had?

A historical romance filled with giggles, tears and anger. The whole series is about foolish young men being forced to grow up and appreciate that the world doesn't revolve around them.

I have read and thoroughly enjoyed each of the books in this series and highly recommend them. You could however read each one on it's own. I look forward to reading the last one. I think poor North is due to suffer.

Great fun.

Medieval Scotland

Get ready for the third adventure of the Highland Outcasts! Those lads who have to pay penitence for their destruction of Old Callum's Horn and Hoof Tavern.

This time it is Nash O'Keefe's turn and he is to work off some time by helping thatch the roofs of some cottages that had been destroyed. What he doesn't expect is the lass he meets!

Kellina has been trying to help her clan get out of their despair since others came and destroyed their crops and burned their cottages. Could the over confident Nash do that?

A story of adventure, tons of humor and a chance at love...

North and Nash MacKeefe were both awaiting punishment for celebrating too much in the tavern by accidentally setting the ceiling on fire. Now Nash was awaiting the wrath of Old Callum MacKeefe for the damage done. Of course, it was going to be a punishment to remember. Nash was being sent to a needy clan to help rebuild the roofs after a raid from an enemy clan. Little did he know that he is also to marry a clan’s woman, Kellina, the niece of the laird of that clan. Not only will he learn how to thatch roofs but become a husband as well. What a wonderful, interesting plot develops as this book carries you along with each adventure. Of course, Aidan and his squirrel adds a bit of levity along the way. I cannot wait to learn what is going to happen to North when his adventure is published. Great read.

After successfully foiling the reivers and negotiating an alliance, Nash and his friends over celebrated and broke several of the Old Callum’s Tavern rules, including starting a fire and throwing up on Callum’s boots. The result? Outcast from the clan. Now each of the four of them must complete a sentence of Callum’s choice to be brought back into the clan. Well, it’s time for Nash’s sentence. He is to help the Mackenzie Clan, who was recently devastated by an attack by the Sunderlands, to repair and rethatch the roofs of their cottages. Oh, and he is to marry the Chieftain’s niece to form an alliance. This time, only his brother North will accompany him. This may not be a pleasant trip. Despite the tragic circumstances, there is humor throughout the story starting with the scene where Nash and Kellina meet. They have both suffered heartbreak; they just don’t know it stems from the same source. There are secrets, betrayal, mystery, danger, and action, along with the humor. Lady Spring and many other familiar characters appear in the story to help in one way or another. This is a fast-paced story that holds your attention. Can Nash and Kellina move past the pain of the past and find their HEA? Well, the stars in the Highland Sky do hold magic.

I received an ARC of this book from the publisher via NetGalley. My review is voluntary.
