Sometimes your meet cute comes with a little bit of creepin’, but it’s not a problem when your chemistry is “out of this world!” A Cosmic Kind of Love is Samantha Young’s latest quick-witted rom com, which will make readers laugh alongside the protagonist from start to finish. The dual-perspective set up is complimented even more by the video recordings that are shared as a delightful twist on modern dramatic irony.

Folks who love Ali Hazelwood, Lizzy Dent and Emily Wibberly - this is your next rom com read!

It was... okay. Overall I didn't really get into it and took a long time for me to pick it up in-between reading. There wasn't anything I really hated about it but I didn't like it either

I freaking loved this book. I loved the characters and the timeline of their relationship. I loved seeing them grow both individually and together. I loved how they each eventually stood up for themselves in their own way and how they ended up handling the toxic relationships in their lives. I love that their relationship wasn’t perfect, but that I still wanted to root for them. This book was fun, cute, sexy, and warm, and I can’t wait to read Young’s others.

Samantha Young hit this one out to space! Cosmic Kind of Love was refreshing. We had our hero, Chris, who was an astronaut falling for the quirky event planner, Hallie.

I loved how both of these characters were slightly older but didn’t quite know what to do with their lives. I could relate with not being quite satisfied with where life had taken them.

I adored the way this couple came to be, so I won’t spoil that. But it was the best. What I have come to love the most about Samantha Young are her characters and Chris and Hallie are no exception.

Seeing them come together was out of this world good!

Thank you for letting me read this early!

This was a fun reads and I really liked how the two leads met and got to know each other- through video messages and emails. Hallie is an event planner and Chris is and astronaut. I love rom coms with astronauts and such so this was really fun. This is a quick and fun read.

I think it’s a me thing. I’ve been an extremely moody reader lately and just never really got into it.

I ended up DNFing this at about 25%. The premise was interesting and the main characters seemed fun. However, their parents were what made my decision to call it quits. I can deal with one side’s parents being awful. But when both sides are terrible like they were in this book it just made it an absolute chore to read.

If you love learning about outer space, quirky characters, and epistolary romances...look no further than Samantha Young's A COSMIC KIND OF LOVE! Cute, sweet, and spicy -- what more could you want in a romcom?

Even though it took me awhile to get into this book--once I did I was really quite hooked. Samantha Young has really proved herself to be one of my most go-to authors. She's exquisite at giving just the right amount of romance, humor, and character growth.

In this story, Hallie is an event planner who accidentally receives videos that weren't meant for her. They were meant for the bride of a wedding she's planning. And they were from the bride's ex.

Needless to say, Hallie can't help herself but watch them... And then respond.

With both of them not having fantastic families to speak of, these two really needed each other. And I loved reading and seeing the progression of their relationship.

This one may even be a re-read for me.

A perfect friends to lovers, this story was so sweet and heartfelt it made me feel so emotional. Hallie is an event planner who is not taken seriously by most of the people in her life. Even though her job is challenging and she’s amazing at it, her parents and friends see her as a glorified party planner who doesn’t take anything serious. Captain Christopher Ortiz is well respected as an astronaut. Hallie and Christopher are the sweetest characters

Thank you #netgalley for an early read of #acosmickindoflove

NOTE : 8 / 10

She's back! Samantha Young hit it out of the park with this one. I love the characters, the angst, the pink hair and the chemistry. It's a great read that is more than worthy of a binge read!

I would have probably read this book way too quick if I wasn’t in a reading slump but I enjoyed it so much. I especially love how despite having plenty of opportunities the miscommunication trope was no where to be scene. That in itself had me loving the story, Hallie and Chris talked after every argument and I love appreciated that immensely. I also love how they bantered and got along in general, they had chemistry on every level and really seemed to get along. The video diary aspect was a cute element that was a great start to the story. The fact that they brought out the best of each other and helped them work through past traumas is always a bonus for me. Althea and Aunt Richelle were also awesome side characters.

This was definitely different than any other book I have read. I was a bit deceived by the cutesy cover with the more complex story in between the pages but honestly I am not complaining. I think that this book was really unique and overall a nice balance between a traditional romance but also a more complex drama.

Another fun one from Samantha Young! I will say I found this one very slow burn compared to her typical style but I did really enjoy the friends to lovers trope she developed. Brief side note that Hallie's parent situation hit way too close to home for me as my parents did the exact same thing so kudos to Samantha Young for making this hyper realistic for me! I look forward to reading more from her in the future!

Thank you to netgalley and the publishers for providing me with an arc for an honest review!

I love how fun this story is! A fun feel good rom-com. An event planner, Hallie, falls for a former astronaut, Chris, through videos. Alternating between Hallie and Chris’ perspectives, we get to listen to each one falling for one another while also navigating stressful aspects of their lives (including dealing with parents and balancing their jobs). This book captures what it’s like when you have a crush and won’t make a move. The yearning and the butterflies. Overall, a lovely romance

4 stars

After reading so many romance novels, I get kinda happy when someone writes a story with an interesting premise or in this case, an interesting way of getting two people together. Right from the start, this had a fresh approach to how two people might meet each other and I liked it.

There were some slight stumbles with plot lines that sort of fell flat but overall the story was buoyed by the way these two characters were brought together that I didn't mind so much.

The writing had a "seasoned" feel to it. It didn't dwell heavily on lusty attraction nor did it dive into clichés. The characters were a bit older and it showed in the writing, both of which I found refreshing.
