Cutttte - even if it does start in a bit of a catfishy kind of way (but not really if that make sense?}

I couldn't help but smile as I was reading, and I fell in love with them as they were falling for each other.

While planning an engagement party for a wealthy socialite turned environmental lawyer, event planner Hallie Goodman is accidentally given access to video messages from her client's ex-boyfriend, sent during his time as an astronaut aboard the International Space Station. She can't help feeling guilty after watching them, so Hallie decides to send Captain Christopher Ortiz a video message of her own to apologize. Even though it bounces back, Hallie keeps sending videos, realizing that it felt good to have a way to vent her frustrations. She doesn't realize that Chris is actually receiving her messages and finds himself intrigued by the sender. He schemes a way to meet Hallie at his ex's engagement party, and they quickly become friends with the possibility of much more. But when Chris is offered an unexpected opportunity to continue his NASA career, will their fledgling relationship survive?

I have to admit that I was drawn to this book as much by its gorgeous cover as its unique premise, but fortunately, it didn't disappoint. Hallie and Chris were super cute together when they finally met. I appreciated the genuine friendship that grew between them, though that created its own set of problems since neither of them was sure how to make the first move towards a romantic relationship. They were both incredibly relatable protagonists, dealing with more than their fair share of parental baggage. I loved seeing them draw strength from each other and stand up to their parents in the end.

Overall, I very much enjoyed "A Cosmic Kind of Love" and would recommend it for all contemporary romance and romantic comedy fans. It was the first book I've read by Samantha Young, but it won't be the last.

This book was everything. I loved everything about Hallie and Chris and their story. Reading about them getting to know each other through the screen and then getting to know each other in person- first as friends and then as lovers was beautiful. We got to see them grow both individually and together while helping each other with external pressures- like family and career pressures. Everything about them was absolute perfection. Also psa there’s a dog named bandit.

I walked in hoping for Lessons in Chemistry (I loved this book!) meets what I hoped from Love on the Brain and what I found was pure delight. I loved this book! It wasn't until I finished reading it and looked up the author that I realized she wrote one of my favorite romances I read in 2021, Much Ado About You.

Hallie, an event planner, receives inspiration material from her client, Darcy. As Hallie works to plan the perfect even for the bride-to-be. the last thing she expects to find are video-blogs and messages from Darcy's ex-boyfriend, Christopher Ortiz. Hallie can't help herself, and who can blame her? She ends up watching them all as she becomes more and more enamored by the NASA astronaut who is detailing his trip to the Space Station. Inspired, Hallie sends him a video message of her own that's filtered through IT. When Chris' friend reaches out that he received a video message back he asked her to forward it. but make it seem like it wasn't delivered.

Assuming it never arrived, Hallie continues to send messages with no response about her own life as an event planner, which unbeknownst to her Chris has been seeing. If I tell you anymore, I'll ruin it for you. It's like a modern version of You've Got Mail and if you didn't enjoy that movie... welp! I can't help ya!

I liked. it all! I have no complaints! The dynamics of the various characters, the settings, the events, all of it. I enjoyed it! I think I may have consumed this book too quickly and should've taken more time with it, because it was that good!

Hallie ne peut s’empêcher de les regarder avec une certaine fascination et de se sentir proche de lui. Elle décide d’enregistrer des vidéos également car elle se rend compte que c’est un exutoire pour elle et puis, il ne verra jamais ses questions de tout façon! Sauf que Chris les reçoit et les regardent avec une attention toute particulière car il est attiré par cette drôle de femme aux cheveux roses!
Mais arriveront-ils à se rencontrer dans la vraie vie? Que se passera-t-il quand Hallie découvrira que Chris a vu toutes ses vidéos? Et la réaction des gens quant à leur relation?

L’histoire est quelque peu prévisible dans sa construction. On assiste à la naissance de l’amitié entre Hallie et Chris qui se transforme peu à peu en amour et cela fait du bien qu’ils prennent leur temps! Alors, certes, il y a des choses qu’on voit venir de loin mais on passe un bon moment avec les personnages!

J'ai adoré le personnage de Chris, son histoire, son caractère, son côté très terre à terre. Hallie est aussi un personnage très attachant, drôle, manque de confiance en elle, elle cherche à faire plaisir à tout le monde quitte à s’oublier elle-même. Les gens se servent d’elle (j’ai détesté ses parents) et on a juste envie de secouer Hallie pour lui faire ouvrir les yeux tout comme Chris qui a de sacrées oeillères!

En conclusion, c'est un livre avec lequel on passe un bon moment mais qui est assez prévisible et on a plusieurs fois envie de secouer les personnages.

Okay so first of all I would like to thank valentine pr and the author Samantha Young for this ARC. (I know i'm late in giving the review). Let's just say that I have never read a book like this......EVER. There were times I was laughing, smiling and tossing and turning. Being someone who is a hopeless romantic I loved all the tropes in this book. One element that I loved in this book was that it included space and astronomy. I was someone who loved space and astronomy and once fancied to be an astronaut (till I realised I would have to learn physics and maths). I also fancied Hallie's job and how seriously she took it. I mean planning stuff isn't easy I can't plan what I want to read next!
The dynamics between the characters was well written and I absolutely adored how well they were around each other and how instantly they clicked with one another. I loved Chris's aunt and how she was rooting for the them from the start. Hallie, I feel really reminded me of myself with all the things she would do just to make people feel less hurt. Chris is someone I will absolutely love till the last day! He is so sweet and maybe a bit of oblivious.
I really hated Hallie's parents. I mean how could you do what you did to your own daughter!? I hate it when parents do that to their kids. Although I felt like things were a bit fast paced after the jealousy scene I would say it was a great read.
Overall I'd say it's a 5/5 reads and I would absolutely love to read more by the author.

Hallie received digital files of Christopher, the Astronaut and Veteran who pours out his heart in the videos to his now former fiancé. Although she knows she shouldn't, she can't help but watch the videos and she sends him an email that he pretends to have never read. Of course all their secrets will come out eventually- but in the meantime, they meet and eventually start falling for each other in real life. I really liked Hallie, she is quirky with a lot of depth and character development. I felt like the reader doesn't get to know the many layers of Chris as well as they get to know Hallie. Fun, romantic comedy with plenty of miscommunication and mishaps along the way!

First things first, I LOVE SAMANTHA YOUNG. I am usually the first in line to support and binge her work. When "A Cosmic Kind of Love" showed up on NetGalley, I couldn't request it fast enough. I loved that the MMC was more than just his looks -- he's an astronaut, a veteran. You'd think he had depth. You'd be thinking wrong. As was I. Let's not dive into Hallie, our leading lady. She was just all over the place, a little bit of a doormat in so many ways. Simply put, I didn't enjoy any of the characters in the book. Not a single one.

This was a slow burn read but it wasn't one that caused you to speed read, with hopes of getting to the good parts. No, you were just left unsatisfied and let down. My expectacions were so high, I wanted this to be an "it" book for me, and sadly it was a miss.

I am not giving up on Samantha's novels. I adore 99.9% of her work so I'm eager to move pass Cosmic and see what else she has up her sleeves.

I have to say I really loved the idea of this story more so than the story itself.

It's a 3 maybe 3.5 stars for me because I did like it and enjoy it however I was not in a rush to finish nor would I pick it up again.

It was cute, and of course like any good romcom had drama, exes and crazy family members.

I enjoyed this book a lot. The story follows Hallie, an events organizer, and Chris, an astronaut, as they meet and fall in love. Hallie is planning an engagement party for Darcy, Chris's ex girlfriend, when Darcy accidentally sends Hallie video letters that Chris sent her while he was stationed on the International Space Station. She knows she shouldn't, but she watches them and is entranced. Feeling guilty, she tries to send a video letter back to Chris explaining herself, but his media manager makes it appear to bounce after delivering it to him. Hallie then starts to send him more video messages as a kind of diary, thinking they are bouncing and read by no one. She is frustrated; her boyfriend has dumped her in a hurtful way and her parents insist on putting her in the middle of their messy divorce. A serial people pleaser, she has nowhere else to vent. When the two finally meet at Darcy's party, Hallie confesses to watching the videos but Chris does not. They see more and more of each other and fall in love, but hit some snags along the way. I really liked how the book highlights how women's intuition is so often ignored, even by "good guys," and how damaging that is to our self worth and well being. I also liked the nuanced family drama.

It was such a beautiful and heartfelt love story. It made me laugh and it made me cry. It was wonderful. I can't recommend it enough and this author never disappoints.

Imagine finding the man of your dreams on a file accidentally sent to you via a client. Event planner Hallie Goodman opens that file and enters into the life of astronaut Christopher Ortiz, the ex boyfriend of her client Darcy. Samantha Young introduces Hallie and Chris in a slow, agonizingly drawn out strangers to friends, friends to maybe more experience that lasts for more than half of the book. When the relationship switches, Young jumps right in with spicy romance and a sweet love story. The standard barriers to their love story is to be expected, but unique enough to keep a seasoned romance reader entertained. I know that a book has been engaging when I check out the author and see what back catalogue books are available. Fortunately Young has a lot to choose from.

I am a big of space so I was very excited when this was included in Samantha Young's new book. And I love Samantha's writing so I couldn't wait. A Cosmic Kind of Love was lovely and sweet with a hint of steamy. I enjoyed seeing the progress on of Chris' and Hallie's relationship. I liked how they got to know each other first through their videos. It was refreshing. There was a sense of connection there though they hadn't formally met. And when they did meet, it was cute. That connection exploded and Chris and Hallie couldn't get enough of each other. And when they became more, it was exquisite. They each had their quirks and were so relatable. Of course their time together wouldn't be smooth sailing. Chris and Hallie had outside issues that they brought into their relationship and they needed to work through them. It was fascinating to see it all play out. This story gave me all the Samantha Young vibes that I've come to love in her books. I truly liked this couple-both together and individually. A Cosmic Kind of Love really had me thinking more than just the relationship. Overall, a nice and entertaining read.

I swear, Samantha Young has a way of creating stories that pull you in and you lose yourself in them every single time. A Cosmic Kind of Love will have you hooked from the start and getting lost in the pages waiting to see if Chris and Halie will find that cosmic love or not! Hallie is an event planner and comes across Christopher’s video messages for his ex, who Hallie is planning her engagement party. Hallie is caught off guard and intrigued by Chris. That is until she meets him in person. Chris is also intrigued by Hallie, but doesn’t know what to do about it. As Chris and Hallie start to spend more time together they feel the connection, but won’t cross that line. However, both Hallie and Chris have their own baggage and still figuring things out in their own lives that it all may be too much for these two to figure things far out. But let me tell you, this humorous, romantic, and just enough drama filled journey will have you on the edge of your seat gripping the pages of this emotional rollercoaster to see what the cosmos have planned for Hallie and Chris! Loved this book!

I have always enjoyed movies, tv shows and books set in space or somehow revolving around space as an idea. One of my current favorite tv shows is Apple TV’s For All Mankind. I highly recommend it! So when I saw this book by Samantha Young coming out, I really wanted to try it. I have enjoyed a few of her other books in the past so combine a theme I like with an author I like? Seems like a win!

Hallie is a successful event planner. She is working on an engagement party for Charlotte and her fiancé, Matthias, two people in love with very different tastes. Hallie isn’t worried. She asks the two to send her some ideas of their ideas for the party to see how she can combine them. In the process of looking through Charlotte’s files, Hallie discovers personal videos to Charlotte from a past boyfriend, Christopher Ortiz, a NASA astronaut. She ends up watching them all but feeling very guilty and knowing she invaded both Christopher and Charlotte’s personal life. So, Hallie starts sending videos of her own to Christopher, the first one apologizing.

Christopher isn’t pleased when the first video from Hallie shows up. But soon he is involved in watching the videos she sends to the NASA account. These two have not met yet but they are connecting on a deep level.

A Cosmic Kind of Love is a really sweet romance. It is slightly soured by the very heavy parental issues both Hallie and Chris are dealing with. It just got to be a lot that weighed them down and at times, the storyline also. That aside, I really enjoyed seeing these two fall in love in a modern epistolatory style. These are not letters obviously but I think it’s a fun twist on that idea. Samantha Young has a really likeable writing style that resonates with me. My time reading A Cosmic Kind of Love flew by and I can’t say that happens a lot when I read anymore sadly.

A Cosmic Kind of Love proved to be a fun love story with some heavy elements along the way. Mostly I kept reading for Hallie and Chris. I was rooting for these two to fall in love!

This was so cute! It was really different from other romances I've read recently and that was so refreshing. Hallie and Christopher were so sweet and I thought the circumstances of their relationship was new and exciting. Can we please get more astronaut romances? I think the author tried to make Hallie a little too quirky and it ended up falling a little flat for me, but other than that I really don't have any complaints. I was especially happy that this wasn't another teeny-tiny-smallest-of-small woman and huge-giant-muscles-for-days-man kind of romance.

Event planner Hallie is mistakenly sent videos from her client’s ex-boyfriend Chris that he made when he was an astronaut in space. Hallie watches all the videos and loves them, but then realizes she has invaded Chris’ privacy. To make it up to him, she makes confessional videos of herself to send back. When the two meet at a party for her client, sparks fly right away and the two fall into an easy friendship.

I’ve said this before and I’ll say it forever, Samantha Young is one of my favorite authors and I’ll read anything she writes. Does it mean I love everything she writes? No. But I love that she tries new things and delivers different experiences to her readers. This book wasn’t fleshed out really well, it was slow in the beginning and then rushed in the middle to end. There was a lot that had to do with toxic parents that I wish had been better resolved by the end of the book.

Overall I liked this book, but I almost quit reading halfway through and it left me feeling unsatisfied by the ending. And I wasn’t rooting for this couple to make it, they annoyed me for most of the book.

I actually really liked the story. The premise was super cute. The characters were interesting. I thought the video messages were a creative way to bring the couple together. And Aunt Richelle and Althea are the real MVPs! Absolutely adore them and their support of the MCs!

My main issue was that I didn't enjoy the family drama, which besides the romance, was the entire focus of the story. Chris and Hallie get together relatively quickly, so once that happened, the story fell a little flat romance-wise. And at that point, it felt like Chris and Hallie's issues with their parents, as well as Chris' identity crisis, are what pushed the plot forward. Of course, characters need something to struggle with, but I hated how both Chris and Hallie allowed people who have repeatedly treated them like garbage to affect their lives so much. And by the end, not that much is resolved. Chris is still on the outs with his dad and Hallie is in a decent place with her parents, which we were told about, instead of really seeing it play out and get resolved. The family drama played such a big role in this story, but it didn't have a very satisfying ending.


Overall, it was an interesting, cute rom-com. I liked the romance and side characters but would have enjoyed it if the family drama had been lessened or resolved better.

I found the main character hard to root for because I’m the first sentence she’s being treated poorly and convincing herself it’s ok. I also found the MMC hard to relate to, and the premise of the story was a little odd. Ultimately, it wasn’t the story for me, and I couldn’t finish, but thanks for sharing.

Hallie has a hugely busy career as an event planner for an elite agency in New York. She loves her job and all the opportunities it brings her. Whilst planning an engagement party for a high profile couple she comes across some media files of video messages from the ex boyfriend of the bride to be.

Chris is the ex boyfriend. He has a bit of a following online as a famous astronaut, having spent months on a space station. His instagram posts have gained him a considerable following, with his good looks attracting lots of female attention :) He is at a career crossroads, deciding what his next step will be when the IT team at NASA forward an email from Hallie to him.

Hallie feels a bit guilty about watching all the videos Chris sent his ex but there is just something about him that draws her in. Knowing that he no longer works on the space station, she decides to send her own video diaries to his old email address. It feels good to let all her emotions and feelings out each day and despite not knowing him personally she feels comfortable telling him her innermost thoughts.

‘He grinned, and it made me feel like butter on hot toast, my knees trembling as if they were ready to give out. This was ridiculous!

Things you need to know about Hallie… She is hard working, smart, gorgeous, fun, a bit of a people pleaser and a slightly accident prone. If something is going to go wrong, it will happen to her. She has no idea that her video confessions are endearing her to Chris, he loves her honesty, her lack of verbal filter and how freely she expresses her emotions.

‘And you look like a sports ad! I only found out what a squat thrust is last summer. Until that point, I was pretty sure it was some kind of fruit.’

Chris decides he needs to meet Hallie and when fate brings them together he knows that he needs to spend more time with her. Hallie is thrilled to discover that Chris is just as amazing in person and he was in his videos. Chris is the sort of guy you want to bring home to meet your parents and is incredibly sweet. He considers others and once you have his friendship, he will always be on your side.

‘Oh God, Chris, I’m so sorry. I came up the stairs, and your door was open, and you took off your underwear - and your ass , oh Jesus, your ass is mesmerizing, but then I realized I was perving on you and I tried to back away but I fell over the dog and ‘ oh! I yelped in surprise as he lifted me by the waist and threw me with ease onto the bed.’

Hallie’s confidence has been knocked when it comes to dating, she feels like Chris is almost too good to be true, everything is going so right that she is expecting something to go wrong at any moment. Meanwhile, Hallie’s parents keep pulling her into their divorce dramas and Chris’ father keeps thinking he can interfere in his son’s future.

This is a slow burning romance that begins online and then eventually into real life. The friendship they establish becomes the firm foundation for wonderful things to come. This is my first experience reading about an astronaut and it is evident that Samantha put a lot of work into the research of what happens in space. It was so interesting and informative but also a heart stealing romance.
