I was drawn to this story as I read it was ideal for fans of The Outsiders and Where The Crawdads Sing. Whilst I enjoyed this quick and easy read, I thought that there would be a bit more action on Conley's journey. His story was interesting but I was expecting a little more drama and action as mentioned. Conley definitely showed some guts in his younger years; hitch hiking from Memphis all the way to New Orleans at just 13 years old!
