Falling in love with a small town!

Pediatric nurse Kyra Fowler was focused on working on her dream of moving to London when she found out that her father that she hadn’t seen since he left her mom had died He hadn’t left her a house but the entire town of Star Valley Springs, Wyoming. But she couldn’t sell it until she finalized some repairs that some of the buildings needed.

Aiden Steele couldn’t save his brother-in-law but he could save Star Valley Springs and his sister’s ranch from being sold to developers by convincing Kyra not to sell through the magic of Christmas and the help of the town.

I loved Wishing on a Christmas Cowboy because it reminds me of where I grew up and how people help each other with whatever needed to be done.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

A great Christmas read! Aiden is former military who has suffered devastating loss and is dealing with the emotional effect. Kyra was abandoned by her father at a young age and is left an unexpected inheritance after his passing. When she goes to settle her father’s estate, she meets Aiden and there is an immediate connection. Due to their pasts, they struggle with feeling worthy enough to find happiness. The small town, tight knit community intends to help them find the way. Highly recommend this one.

This was a super cute small town romance. There's nothing insanely original about it but I enjoyed reading it! Small town, swoony hero who starts to fall first, a great cast of side characters that I assume will have their own books. There is a little bit of Christmas towards the end but I wouldn't say it's overwhelmingly Christmassy, it takes place from fall through Christmas so the holiday is not the main focus. Overall a sweet and enjoyable read!

A sweet love story. Glad to see it is the start of a series. Lots of interesting characters in this small town. I am eager to read the next romance. There is a hint of what couple that may involve. Darling little girls add charm to the tale. Thanks to the publisher for providing a copy via NetGalley. My review is voluntary.

This book seemed more 'cute mountain town with a little romance thrown in' versus a 'romance that's set in a cute mountain town.' I wasn't feeling the romance. I found Kyra and Aiden a cute couple, but we don't see them as a couple very often in my opinion. The townspeople were always there it seemed. Then there's the lack of communication between the two. They both have baggage and they're holding onto it with a tight grip. I just wanted them to talk about their problems with someone or at the very least be honest with each other!

The book did start off great and I was intrigued by the quiet and serious Aiden. He was a Navy SEAL and along with his two best friends who were also SEALs, they run a construction business and help Aiden's sister out on her ranch. Aiden's best friend was married to his sister, but he was killed in action during one of their missions. They all promised to take care of Tess and her two little girls if something happened to him. I loved that they were all there for her. The relationship Aiden had with his little nieces was precious. Did Aiden take his promise a little too seriously? Absolutely! But it only took a whole book for him to finally get the help he needed and come to his senses.

I wanted to like Kyra but she was a bit too set in her 'life plan' and seemed inflexible when it came to leaving. Just like Aiden, she comes to her senses, a lot faster than Aiden at least. But I didn't like that she was wishy-washy with her 'should I stay or should I go' mentality. Her dad divorced her mother and ran off with Kyra's best friend's mom to this sleepy mountain town. She didn't hear from her dad in all those years after. He died and left the town to Kyra with some stipulations before she could sell. Kyra was set on moving to London to be a nurse practitioner. She wanted nothing to do with her dad or how he lived his life. I get it, I really did. I can't say I'd have felt differently. I did like that Kyra was welcoming to the townspeople and wasn't hostile. She had a good heart, she was just hurt by her father and wasn't open to feeling like she would have been had she experienced life differently.

I'll read the next book in the series. I'd like to see Tess get her HEA.

Kyra Fowler has inherited her father's home in Montana. He left when she was ten and never contacted her after leaving. She has to fix it up by Christmas and wishes to sell it so she can move to London. Ex-seal Aiden Steele meets her on the first day she comes to town. The town doesn't want her to sell to a developer and hope to win her over on the people and town.
Aiden is the only contractor that can do the renovations that she needs to have done. Aiden is struggling with PTSD and only spends time taking care of his widowed sister and two nieces. Aiden feels like it's his fault his brother-in-law died in service.
The only problem is Aiden and Kyra seem to be really falling for each other and someone is going to get hurt. Someway Kyra is going to find out that the town is plotting to keep her from selling to a developer.
This was a great read and I really enjoyed Kyra finding her place in Montana.

Another Hallmarkesque holiday romance starring a woman who inherits something that she wants to get rid of and lots of baggage from childhood. Also starring a long haired tatted ex Navy SEAL, charged with getting her to change her mind, Co starring a lost sister and a band of white haired busybodies.

Predictable, but great for anyone who likes to curl up by a fire with a love story.

Thank you to the publisher for the ARC.

Christmas stories are my fave. Especially small town Christmas stories. In "Wishing on a Christmas Cowboy", the town came to life with the holidays. I love the idea of a community coming together like that. Kyra's story was pretty unique, where her estranged father gifts her a town and she needs to decide what to do with it. I loved the love story as well, even though it was pretty predicable that things were going to go downhill before they got better.

Thank you NetGalley for this ARC!

Heartwarming, poignant and lots of fun!

Wishing on a Christmas Cowboy by Sara Richardson is book #1 in her Star Valley series. This is a great beginning to the series! Star Valley Springs, Wyoming might be well off the beaten path but it makes up for that location by being a caring, supportive town. I like how the residents go out of their way to help each other out. As I was reading I got a good feeling about the town and the main couple, Kyra Fowler and Aiden Steele from the very beginning of the book. Kyra had so much to realize and appreciate. Aiden had loss and guilt to overcome. I enjoyed traveling along to the Happily Ever After. Sara Richardson has a heartwarming, fun storyline here. I love her writing style and totally enjoyed this book!

I was halfway through this book before I realized that Kyra was not left a whole town by her father, just some holdings in it. I kept thinking how can someone own a whole town now a days.
Aiden is a savior for his sister and niece's but also for Kyra. He really doesn't want to be though. When he sees how she treats people and are so good to his family it's hard not to want to help her and need her.
I really enjoyed reading, Wishing on a Christmas Cowboy.

What a fantastic book! I truly had so much fun reading this book plus it just put me in such a good mood, Loved the plot, and not only that but the fact that the author really took her time to ease the 2 main characters into a relationship. I do enjoy insta love books but sometimes slowly falling for someone takes time too. This book is exactly what i needed, it even kept me up late most nights because i just couldn’t put it down. Recommending it to everyone.

This first story in the series takes us to Star Valley, Wyoming.
Kyra Fowler, a pediatric nurse with hopes of moving to London to pursue her career there, arrives at Star Valley with only one goal. Sell the town she inherited from her estranged, and recently deceased father. A father that she always believed had forgotten her.
What she never expected was that there were stipulations on repairs that needed to be done before she sold it, and that she would meet former Navy SEAL, Aiden Steele. A man that could easily steal her heart, but also a man that is carrying a great deal of guilt.
Watching the locals not only determined determined to save the town but also determined to show Kyra how much her father was loved, confuses Kyra. All the while, Aiden is trying to deal with his guilt and is how dedicating his life to his sister and nieces.
This is a story about family, loyalties, and overcoming the past. It is also a story about hope and second chances in life and love.
A wonderful beginning to the series.
I was entrusted a copy of this book by Netgalley and Forever. The opinions are solely my own.

Kyra inherited her estranged father's estate, including a small Wyoming town which she intends to sell to a developer to finance her dream of moving to London, England. Aiden is a broken war hero living his life to take care of his sister and her two daughters after his best friend, and brother-in-law James dies while on a mission with him. Neither Aiden nor Kyra is interested in romance, but Aiden is determined to convince Kyra not to sell the town. He enlists the town to help him learn to love the town so she won't want to sell. Wishing on a Christmas Cowboy is a sweet, fun story that will fill you with the Christmas spirit!

This is a story about a pediatric nurse named Kyra who has big plans to follow a job to London. First she has to sell a Wyoming town she inherited from her father. She meets Aiden Steele (a broken soul) who tries to show Kyra how wonderful the little town is before she sells it off to developers. I enjoyed this sweet Christmas romance. I fell in love with all the characters and didn't want it to end! I got lost in this story, and I think you will too!

this was my first book by this author, will definitely read her others, I enjoyed the story and loved the setting.

Kyra inherited her estranged father's ranch and holdings that basically encompassed an entire town in Wyoming. She hadn't spoken to her father since he left after a bitter divorce from her mother when she was 10. The terms of his will require that Kyra complete some work in the town prior to her being able to sell any of the land. Kyra' travels to Wyoming to get it done and move on to a new life in London. Aiden is a former Navy SEAL who returned back to his hometown in Wyoming after his brother-in-law and former teammate was killed in action. He's devoted his entire life to his sister and nieces as a tribute to his brother-in-law. Aiden is suffering from some pretty severe PTSD and survivor's guilt. When he meets Kyra - he and the rest of the town embark on a mission to keep her from selling out. They want their small town to stay the same and not lose its charm and strong sense of community.

Kyra and Aiden spark off of each other - but they both have a lot of baggage to deal with. Kyra definitely works through a lot of her pain and finds a sense of belonging in the small town. Aiden - not so much. He starts to work through things at the end of the book, but there isn't a lot of growth during the story itself. There also isn't a heck of a lot of time between Aiden and Kyra in the book - and what time they do have - I just really wanted them to talk to each other. Even with Aiden's PTSD - I feel like a lot of the drama of the book could have been managed by a few honest conversations.

I'll admit I never really enjoy "big secret" books - where something is being kept from one of the main characters - and this definitely qualifies. No one wants to tell Kyra that selling her land would likely result in long term damage to the businesses and livelihoods of the town. There isn't a real reason for it - other than not wanting to guilt her in to staying - but at the same time, it just didn't make sense to me why they wouldn't lay it out for her and let her make an educated decision. They could still proceed with their plans to get her to like the town - but without the omissions of truth.

Overall - I liked this one, but these factors really kept me from loving it.

I received this book as an ARC via NetGalley, but these opinions are all my own.

In this book we meet Kyra a nurse practitioner on the cusp of getting everything she has spent years working towards, a job practicing in London. But before she can go start her new life in London, she finds out her estranged father passed away and left her a town in the middle of nowhere that she must deal with first. Before she can sell her father left a list of jobs she must oversee in the town first, forcing her to go to the town and spend some time there. The first person she meets in town is Aiden, a former navy seal turned cowboy who will do anything in his power to try to keep Kyra from selling the town to developers which could force his sister and nieces to have to leave their home. So Aiden and the rest of the town will do everything in their power to get her to fall in love with the town, and maybe even more. The characters were great, the setting was breathtaking, and the magic of Christmas runs throughout the book. I’m really hoping this is a series and a book with either Lyric or Tess is in the works to come out soon! I received an ARC from netgalley and focus is my honest review.
