A space odyssey is sometimes not just a difficult thing to do apparently but also read, yet Gun has found a way to make it easy, propelling us gently into a society aboard the velocity that is evocative of an idealist utopia of self-sufficiency and unquestioned diversity and inclusivity. It is also a world where, suffice it to say women, prominently BIPOC women, are regarded as self-possessed, physically capable, and autonomous. The two firecrackers of the novel and the other colorful patchwork of dynamic women that permeate Homeworld’s jolting adventure scenes are both damsels in distress, however capable they may be of vulnerability and deep care.

In Homeworld there are glimmers of a society many of us yearn for, thoughtfully depicted, realized without ignoring the realities of human nature and the frailty of what one might describe as a democratic society-equal treatment for all, meaningful and productive dialogue, as well as a deep care for one another as humans. Homeworld is a wonderful escape but also a realistic reminder of what is at stake as the tide turns on human rights- our own Homeworld and our only home in peril.

3rd book of the series! I've read all of them, and find the whole storyline to be incredibly unique and memorable. I'm really enjoying how the Dennamore aliens and the humans all went together to explore outer-space and find their home planet. Once they got there, I also enjoyed the setup for what I'm assuming is the 4th book...

My only real gripe is while the progression of the relationships are nice, I'm a bit more of a romantic and want more bits of that. And more descriptive...I guess the best way to describe this book is almost purely sci-fi but I'd love it to be sci-fi romance, since ALL of the newly formed relationships are not only cute but essential to survival at this point.

As one whose own Neuro interfaces are failing I connected with the main character. Add in intrigue and romance and winner winner, chicken dinner.

This book marks the ending (or not?) of an excellent trilogy. The first two books have plenty of sci-fi elements, but this is the cherry on top of the pie for sci-fi lovers, as it is almost completely set in space instead of on earth.

These books need to be read in order, it’s a continuing storyline and too complex to catch up if you missed one or two of the previous books. This book has so much sci-fi discovery, it’s a lot of fun, and what I like so much about Brooke’s writing is that, besides the imagination behind the tech, it all makes sense. All the necessary details are there even if it’s about alien technology that’s completely beyond us, it feels realistic. To avoid spoilers for those that want to start the series, I will not go into details on the storyline, but let me tell you Brooke knows how to keep you interested by constantly adding new surprises along the way.

This book also has a light romance that started in book two. This series is mostly plot driven and the romance is clearly not the main feature so there aren’t a ton of emotions and feelings described, but it’s nice to have some romance on the side.

Ok, back to the ending. In the acknowledgements it is mentioned that this series was written as a trilogy, but Brooke indicated that she might revisit this world somewhere in the future and this is reflected in the ending. The ending is open and I dare say I even consider it a (small) cliffhanger, so I just need another book in the series. To be honest, if no other book is forthcoming this ending leaves me somewhat unsatisfied. There is clearly more to tell so I can only hope that Brooke will continue this series.

I am not a huge sci-fi reader but I make an exception for Gun Brooke and I enjoyed this series massively. The world she has created is unique and awe-inspiring, and the storyline constantly keeps the reader engaged. I wouldn’t classify this series as romances by any means - they are sci-fi novels with queer female characters so read with that in mind and you will love it. The book got really interesting when the group reached their ancestors’ planet and from the ending it sounded like there might be a new book coming, which I look forward to.

Homeworld by Gun Brooke is a novel I’ve been looking forward to for a while now. It is the third book in the “Dennamore Scrolls” series. Since I’ve already read (and loved) the first two novels, I’ve been eager to continue with this tale. I’m happy to tell you that all of my expectations have been met with this third book.

The story picks up right after the second novel ends with the crew of the spaceship Velocity preparing to leave Earth’s orbit and begin their journey to the crew’s ancestral home planet Dwynna Major. All is not smooth sailing though. From government entities trying to claim ownership of the spacecraft, to attempting interstellar ship travel for the first time ever, to the Chief Engineer Claire Gordon’s neural interface device breaking down. Since this device gives Claire the knowledge to keep the engines running, this is a big problem. And this is just the beginning.

The author has crafted a wonderful speculative fiction world filled with amazing characters, an intricate and detailed spacecraft that the characters can travel and live on, and a storyline that has captured my interest and kept me reading for three books now. Each book has introduced us to amazing new characters and has shown the reader all they must go through to satisfy “The Yearning” these folks have to return to the planet of their ancestors. This novel is the culmination of all that work. I’ve enjoyed reading this entire series, but I believe this last book gives me the most satisfaction. It lets me see the results of all the different characters’ work.

What surprised me is that there are still some threads unfinished at the end of this novel. I thought this series would be written in three novels, but this last story gives me the idea that there could be more. I hope so. I’m not ready to give up on these characters and their adventures.

This is not a standalone novel. To understand what is going on, you need to read all three books in order. Luckily, I can recommend all three. Once you have read them, then we can cross our fingers and hope the author will want to write more on this story.

This is the third book in the series. This is a stellar Sci fi fiction with a great plot. I loved how they worked together to overcome all the challenges they encountered. It's very descriptive and the main characters are super strong. I recommend reading the previous books as each one picks up where the other left off, Well done Gun Brooke.
4.5 stars

According to the writer this is the final entry in her trilogy about The Dennamore scrolls, but as she herself said she would like to revisit this story in the future and the ending is such that a follow up is expected I would be surprised if there will be no more books about the group now that they have finally arrived at the Dwynna Major.
Gun Brooke managed to deliver a stellar sci-fi book with a good plot while also being able to keep the alien technology interesting without making it difficult to follow.
I had a lot of fun with this trilogy and would definitely recommend it to the readers who are not hardcore sci-fi fans, there's also a little bit of romance throughout the series but in my opinion not enough to classify these books as a romance so if that's your main cup of tea these books might not be for you.

This was another really good book in this series, this one focused more on the relationships between Holly and Claire. I liked that this book continued the space adventure of the Velocity. There was quite a bit of drama and angst in this book. Plenty of suspense, and peril as well. I liked that the author continued building on the relationships already established in the previous books, so that we could see how Darian and Sam's relationship has progressed, as well as Darian's grandmother who has health problems, but seems to be thriving with the alien technology that the discovered in the two previous books. I liked everything about this book and series, and I would definitely recommend it to my friends and family, and I look forward to the next book in this series.

Homeworld is the final destination for the Dennamore Scrolls trilogy although Brooke hints at revisiting this series in the not so near future. The novel describes the journey to their home planet of Dwynna Major. The ongoing learning curve about their vessel and its capabilities keeps the crew on their toes.
Brooke has a way of describing the alien technology to de simplify and create a visual for easier understanding.
What they find on their alien home planet is exceptionally well written. The ingenuity of the world building far surpasses the expected and yet there is a comfortable feel to it.
The Dennamore Scroll Trilogy is a stellar science fiction series. From the first book onwards it has captivated its readers with non stop action, exquisite world building and intriguing characters. Homeworld is the whipped cream and cherry on this delicious treat.m

‘Homeworld’ by Gun Brooke is the third book in the Dennamore Scrolls series, and the one where Velocity finally leaves Earth in search of Dwynna Major. Chief Engineer Claire Gordon is a vital part of the mission, but when her neural interface begins to malfunction she fears her skills won’t be enough to get them home. That and her increasing attraction towards the Captain, Holly Crowe, makes for a difficult journey ahead. Holly is determined to remain professional, and a relationship with another crew member is therefore out of the question. As they try to steer the ship through space and keep their fellow passengers safe, will they succeed in their mission? And will they ever find time for each other?

Having read the previous book, ‘Velocity’, I was keen to find out if the inhabitants of Dennamore would find a way to get the ship ready to leave Earth. The desire to return home was strong in them – but there were some who didn’t want them to take that chance. There was always going to be some tension and preparing for the journey was a learning curve for them all. I enjoyed finding out how they coped as they prepared and got underway. I was desperate to find out what Dwynna Major was really like. Although the story was about their journey, it was also about discovering themselves. This was a well written sci-fi story, with touches of romance. I won’t give away what they find, but I was intrigued and hope for more stories from these characters.

The third in The Dennamore Scrolls trilogy begins as the crew is preparing to start a space journey. The main premise is aliens landed in the late 1700s and assimilated into the local communities. Some descendants have discovered their space craft and are feeling a longing to visit their ancestral home planet.

Gun Brooke creates a way for the discoverers of the space craft to learn their positions and skills with downloads of information using helmets that connect into their synapsis. This adventure covers the departure, time in space learning about their craft and finally arriving at their destination. I’m not a big sci-fi reader but I enjoyed the story. The technology was interesting and the selling point is the people who make up the crew and their relationships. This one includes a very slow burn relationship for the captain that culminates with kissing and potential.

The trilogy should be read in order as there isn’t a lot of recapping to let this book be read as a stand alone. The author has referred to this as a trilogy but leaves the ending open for future adventures. Thank you to NetGalley and Bold Strokes Books, Inc., for an eARC in exchange for an honest review.

Take-off to the stars
I really like the premise of the Dennamore series which interprets the idea that aliens live among us in a new way. In the third installment they take off to search for the homeworld of their ancestors and there are quite a few interesting twists in the story - cool engineering. I liked to see how those newbies come together. There is a bit of romance interwoven but it is not taking the main stage. The writing flows really well. With the exception of US agents - the characters are likeable and since all are on the same ship we meet again characters who took center stage in the previous books. I was honestly baffled at the quick ending which felt more like a cliffhanger and the opening for the next development.
PS: Homeworld is the third installment of the series and honestly, you have to read part 1 and 2 to get the hang of it.

I received an ARC copy of this book from the Publisher via Netgalley and voluntarily leaving my review.

After leaving earth for Dwynna Major. The story centers on Captain Holly and Chief Claire as they worked together while traveling through space as they meet danger all the while try not to fall for each other’s. I like when they arrive to meets some of the inhabitants of Dwynna which were very interesting can’t wait to learn more about them in the next chapter in this series.

A continuation of the Dennamore saga. This is from leaving Earth to their arrival on Dwynna Major. Some adventures in space on the way and meeting some of the inhabitants of Dwynna on arrival. Kept my interest all the way to the end. End? Not quite. Hope the next part of the story will be out in the not too distant future! Can’t wait!

This third part of The Dennamore Scrolls series does not seem to be the end, although it does reveal much of what was raised in the first two chapters, which are essential reading before tackling this one, do not go into this chapter without having read the two previous ones or you won't make sense of it.

In this chapter, Holly the Captain of the spaceship and Claire, the Chief Engineer, take center stage, but the thread between Darian and Samantha is also followed. Not Camilla, Walker, Philber and Carl. But new characters appear, too, and some unexpected events obviously due to the nature of the adventure that is undertaken.

The story cannot be recommended if you are not a fan of this type of fantastic adventures, although they are not my first choice in particular, but from time to time I enjoy them.

And I'll be looking forward to a new chapter, those Tantozians and Dwynnites suggest there will be some interesting stuff.
