I’m not sure how I feel about this one still. I liked it while I was reading it but I found it very forgettable. I did really like the characters and the story line.

This is a quick read for fans of the trope from lovers to friends ! The book does a great job of holding space for women to put themselves first. It was cute and I like the pieces of cultural and family that I could definitely relate to.

This was is a light and read beach read, the perfect escapism in the summer or even if you aren't a fan of the winter and need a bit of sun.

This book is a quick beach read! It was very readable. The characters Jax and Leo are very well developed and this is a nice friends to lovers story.
Overall this is a nice read by the pool!

Thanks netgalley for this ARC all views are my own.

2/5 stars

This was not the book for me. I really just wasn't a fan of the writing or the characters. I would put the book down and not feel compelled to pick it back up again. I felt like there was no chemistry between Jazmine and any of her love interests. The characters themselves all felt very immature and unlikable. I just couldn't get behind the characters or the writing here. Again this just wasn't the book for me.

Jazmine Prado is on the verge of losing her job as a writer (technically, she just lost it) until her editor threw her a lifeline after finding out her husband-to-be was social media star Hudson Taylor. It was the perfect career opportunity to open more doors for her in the world of writing, or so she thought. Unlike her social media fiancé, Jazmine has barely any social media presence. Which was totally fine for her... until she agreed to do a web series featuring their wedding being livestreamed. Oh, I forgot to mention. Their videographer? It's her ex-childhood best friend (Leo) of 15 years and also her first love. And neither of them knew they'd meet again because of a web series for Jazmine's wedding. Talk about awkward.

Personally, I particularly didn't like the amount of zodiac sign references there was. I just kept cringing whenever the zodiacs were mentioned, particularly to explain what was happening or why it was happening. Not saying there's anything wrong with believing in astrology, but reading about it in fiction feels weird, for lack of a better term.

Not going to lie, the whole wedding being paid for reminded me of Brooklyn's & Bailey's weddings, albeit not fully sponsored (if I remember correctly). Before any of B&B's fans read this and attack me, this isn't a hate comment, simply an observation/comment with no ill intent.

Anyway, moving on. I actually enjoyed the characters. But I have to say, the three main characters had their moments where I kind of didn't like them, heavy emphasis on the kind of because it's such a 50/50 situation. For instance, [SPOILER] <spoiler>when Hudson basically proposed (pun intended) to Jazmine about doing another web series because hello?! have you not been paying attention to your fiancée? she's barely surviving the first web series + you know (or supposed to) she'd rather keep her personal life private. But then again, you can't fault him for asking especially since it's what he loves to do and what he wants to continue. But you can fault him for basically going ahead with it even though it was clear when you talked to her, she didn't want to and even after trying to convince her she was still hesitant.</spoiler>[END OF SPOILER]

Anyway, despite that (if you read the spoiler section) I still liked Jazmine and Hudson (as individual characters and together). They were cute together, but it was also obvious despite loving each other deeply they weren't actually in love (not mutually, at least). As for Jazmine and Leo, as much as I love the childhood friends to (strangers to) lovers trope, I couldn't bring myself to root for them, and not because they were a bad pair, but because the buildup wasn't enough for me. Considering the story was mostly about Jazmine and Hudson, I liked J+H more than J+L.

Enough with the romance portion. Although, I'm a big romance lover, my favourite part of this whole book was Jazmine's story on how she struggled to remain true to herself especially in a world where photos and videos are in. It was an inspiring message to not give up on your dreams.

Overall, it's a cute story. I liked the parts where her writing entries were added too. And I'm happy they all got their own happy ending.

I really enjoyed this story. It was well written with a well thought out story line and good character development. Nice settings and good chemistry. Perfect for reading on the beach. Recommend

Not my really go to read to be honest. Its not just a rom com book, its abour self-discovery, and important decisions. Its a good summer read, like i said, not my usually go to read but like the concept and the plot. The fmc was relatable. I could relate to certains situations and inner thoughts she had.

After seen it around on the social media, I wanted to check for myself and see what this book was about.
I’ll be honest that I was expecting a different kind of love story. There are great characters and their story is definitely reliable to any new adult in our contemporary life.
The way they go through life, making decisions that will change their careers path, the way they find love and settled down as well.
I’m not sure how I feel after reading it. I wanted a happily ever after and I kinda felt disappointed at times by the story. So many description and some were just a bit over the top for me to feel that the book is flowing and it will end somewhere good.
Maybe next time.

Very grateful for my review copy

This was a pretty good beach read. I enjoyed that the main character, Jaz, was going through career changes that I'm sure many readers could relate to. I did find that it seemed to lose its focus from time to time by getting caught up in too much detail/information on supporting characters that really didn't impact our main characters or plot. Additionally, as others have indicated, I was somewhat disappointed to realize I was spending copious amounts of time with a couple who were not heading for a HEA. I like my HEA's when ready a chick lit, rom com! Lol.

Thank you to NetGalley and the Publisher for a eARC copy of this book!

Set against the background of glorious Cancún, Good on Paper is a story of authenticity, staying true to yourself and following your dreams. I really enjoyed reading it and sped through this book, it was such an easy read! It definitely feels like a fiction debut (the author has written non-fic books before) with some repetition and dialogue, but that didn’t bother me too much! Reading about Jazmine’s journey to putting herself and her future first was a great experience. I wish we got more of Leo, though - I enjoyed him as a character. Plus, I wanted to read more about the gorgeous Cancún beaches and ocean, but hey, you can’t have everything in life

Good on Paper is the PERFECT book for when you just need a good read to escape reality. It was a lovely beach read with my favourite tropes, with friends turned enemies to lovers, second chance romance, and forced proximity: all the ingredients for a memorable book.

I think I had initially expected this to be a lot more light-hearted than it actually was - with undertones of the journey towards self-discovery and self-love. While the undertones added depth, it was done in a tasteful way, which just meant the book had so much more to offer.

It was well-written, with characters that were explored well, given depth, and most importantly were likeable and easy to root for. Overall a really lovely book to read, and I look forward to reading more of Tejeda's works.

Good On Paper is a novel about decisions made for the wrong reasons, about past regrets, second-chance and realizing that love can’t overcome someone’s dream. I really liked that this book wasn’t centered around getting the two together when the situation was still difficult. However, it was quite predictable how it was going to end up. I liked it but I feel like it could have been shorter for what happened,
The best thing in this book is the main character’s development. It’s 3 stars for me.

Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for sending me an e-reader copy of the book. This is an honest review based on my thoughts.

DNF at 61%.

Journalist Jazmine Prado faces redundancy when her print magazine pivots to digital media. So when her boss suggest she do a web series chronicling her wedding to internet media star Hudson Taylor she agrees, even if she isn't sure about marrying Hudson who she has spent barely any time with and she hates the idea of making her wedding a reality TV show.

They are whisked off to Cancun, because of course the wedding is planned to fit with the filming schedule and not what Jazmine and Hudson really want, and then Jazmine discovers that the videographer is none other than her first love, Leo Couture. I'm sorry, I hope I'm not being culturally insensitive but these names are dreadful. Now Jazmine is faced with her first love, all grown up and sexier than ever, competing against her new love, who she barely knows since he lives in Canada.

Yawn. I'm nearly two-thirds of the way through, nothing has happened other than highly improbable coincidences, and if the reader can't see that Jazmine and Hudson have nothing in common and probably don't even like each other very much then they have to be pretty dense.

Bored, bored, bored. I haven't read anything for over a month and I picked it up and within five minutes I put it down again. I gave up at 61%.

A quick and easy read that I found myself picking up after a long day to unwind. The characters are beautifully written and I came to love them within the first few pages and was rooting for them all the way to the end. At times I wanted to stop reading because I just wanted the experience to go on for longer.

Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

A great uplifting romance about self worth and preservation.

This book is a romance but the love changes throughout the story first it is about romance then friendship and finally self worth. A very poignant and moving story which stays true to the characters.

There is also a strong sense of family and community throughout the book.

I could really relate to the main character Jaz and is someone I’d love to know In real life. Leo is the perfect loveable rogue but Jaz is very much the leading lady in her own story.

Fab story loved it!

I was really excited for this one but unfortunately, it just didn't work out for me. I didn't love the main characters or the writing style.

This book was cute! I really enjoyed it and flew through it within 3 hours. I thought most of the characters were well developed and I thought it was written in a way that made it very readable. I do wish there was more between Jaz and Leo because I just love a good friends to lovers story. I wasn’t expecting to really love Hudson as well. Overall, a quick, light, read that I’d recommend.

Well wishes do come true, I have adored this book. I have devoured this in just one sitting. Good on Paper has been the perfect escape read that I have been unwilling to put down.

I love how this is written, I have been instantly pulled in by this one. I have loved the characters that have filled the pages and this has given me some laugh out loud moments.

Self discovery is a strong theme throughout this book and it has been an element I have loved this about the book. It’s been really refreshing and unique.

There are realistic characters and relatable elements that fill the pages of this one. This is my First read by this author but definitely won’t be the last.

I had no idea where this book was going. It has been a fantastic journey and one that has been impossible to predict but has been completely enjoyable.

I absolutely recommend this book and cannot wait to see what the author comes back with following this book. A great read and one for the TBR!
