Poppy Own Spot

I'm not going to lie, I chose this book because I love the illustrator. I loved their colorful, cute style, and this book delivers. This book is an adorable picture book that follows Poppy, as she grows from a seed to a flower. She meets friends, family and neighbors that live nearby and learns about her place in the world. She learns a valuable lesson. We all have our part to play. I would recommend this to toddlers with a love of nature.

Thank you, NetGalley and Clavis Publishing, for providing me with a digital ARC for an honest review.

Poppy’s Own Spot is a cute little story of a poppy seed that grows into a plant and then blooms into a flower. The Little Poppy flower meets its mommy and daddy and other flowers in the garden.
The short book is mainly about nature and the co-existence of elements like the sun, moon, wind, rain, earth, flowers, insects, etc. The book is for little kids to know how everything around us is interlinked.
The illustrations are beautiful and have ladybugs, bees, worms, grasshoppers, caterpillars, etc., scattered throughout. I love how each page shows the insects as an integral part of plant life or a garden. This will help stop kids from being afraid of insects and hurting or removing them from the garden.
To sum up, Poppy’s Own Spot is a sweet book about nature with lovely illustrations.
I received an ARC from NetGalley and Clavis Publishing and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This book had beautiful illustrations that my toddler enjoyed scrolling through while we read it. I loved the amount of color and it was a fun one to play I spy with. The story was an easily digestible nature lesson for little ones as well.

This was a really cute children's picture book about a flower named Poppy who grows from a seed and the questions why she is here. I really enjoyed the artwork, it was beautifully done. I would definitely recommend this to small children and their parents. Super cute!

Pretty, and pretty well-meaning, this is from the point of view of a poppy, growing up and wondering what its place in the scheme of things is. The answer is a right-on, we're-all-connected message, but one done in distinctive manner and a warm spirit. Guido can certainly find original approaches to give life lessons to young audiences, and this is one of his more successful attempts, even if it does convey so much – both the poppy's whole life in one form or another, and the entirety of life beyond it.

So cute!! A colorful children’s book about a little poppy and all the things that help her grow. The sun, the bees, the butterflies, the soil, etc. The art is adorable and the coloration is vivid and pleasant to look at. It has a very good message to teach children about flowers and how they are a vital part of the environment.

Poppy's Own Spot is a whimsical story about a little poppy who grows and learns that everything belongs together. The pictures in the story remind me of Eric Carle's stories and illustrations and give off a charming sort of feeling. I would love to use this book before a science lesson about plants and living things (maybe ecosystems) just to capture my students' attention and explain how living organisms all work together in harmony.

Beautiful story with a wonderful message! Thank you NetGalley and Clavis Publishing for the advanced copy. All opinions are my own.

So beautiful. The colors most of all, but all the simple, pleasant writing. But the illustrations were definitely my favorite part.

Thank you, Clavis Publishing, for the advance reading copy.

I love the illustrations, the presentation and the concept of the storybook.

Things take time and also it’s a world made up of different components. We cannot survive alone and we bloom someday when everything comes together for betterment.

Love the illustrations. I am going to add this my beginner’s guide to draw as well. It’s perfect.

The cover of this book is beautiful and the reason I requested it. It was a great story explaining how nature works in harmony with all other living things, like bees. Great to present to a young child and may get them interested in gardening at a young age.

A very colorful book explaining how a poppy flower blooms from a seed and how all of nature works together in harmony. Personally, I wish the font was a little larger.

I received a review copy of the English edition: Poppy's own spot. It's meant to be a children book but I recommend it to anyone who needs a mood boost or has a meh day. This picture book is full of promise, hope and sunshine with its vivid colours and beautiful meadow flowers. You just can't not smile while reading it.

With its absolutely gorgeous drawings and lively colours this book will make your day.

This was a really adorable book and I think it will really help children connect with nature. It is so important to get kids into nature and this really shows the importance of that. Very unique book. I love the art aspect of it at first, being an artist. The contrast of night turning into the day is awesome. I love the style and how it displays on the pages. It feels like we can see the movement of the flowers. The second reason this is awesome is the story. It's not very common to see flowers as main characters in their environment instead of anthropomorphic flowers and I loved that aspect.
The story tells how a poppy is born from the seed to adulthood including all the elements necessary to make it happen.

Thank you Netgalley and publisher for the chance to give my honest opinion.

Poppy's Own Spot is a lovely book about a flower (poppy) and how it comes to be. I loved all the other flowers and the illustrations were beautiful. I would maybe recommend a slightly larger text.
