Thank you for the ARC! Adriana Herrera's writing is just so good. These characters were just... woooooooooo. Wow oh wow. The banterer and chemistry was off the page. I want to go back and read book 1 now! This was just great!

The way I just wanted to keep reading this book forever. Catch me rereading it on release day. I’m for sure getting myself the audio.

Theo is everything and Alba stressed me out, but only cause I loved her so much and I didn’t want her to overwork herself. I just loved everything about this book.

Everything about this book should've worked for me, and yet, I was very let down.

The third-act conflict didn't get resolved until the very end of the book, and even then, I think it got resolved a little too quickly. I also just wanted more of the whole bookish room makeovers and TV show.

Very disappointed by this one, unfortunately.

So here's my thing...
Alba, well, she and I are just meant to be friends because we just have too much in common! First of all, her hustle, I feel, is the hustle of every first generation Latina (me, I'm that Latina) and I felt seen! If I could count how many times I've been told I'm doing too much, the number would be a little too aggressive. Now, is this healthy or wise? Probably not BUT what I will say is this. This is what makes us strong and independent women! I love that Alba is confident, dresses to impress, knows what she wants and knows how to push herself to get it all. Maybe he reasons behind it aren't solely selfless but isn't that what we do? Yet, I just love her tenacity and how passionate she is about books. I need her to decorate my room, if I'm going to be honest here.
Now, Theo....(enter heat flashes) buenoooo! Tremendous eye candy! Yet, I think that his passion for Alba is what made me realize that he is the perfect match! He's accomplished, smart, thoughtful, caring, passionate and well, a jerk but in the most comical and loving way! I couldn't wait to see what name he came up with next for Alba's middle name, lol!
This was definitely a good novel to breeze on by with and for as long as I had it on my kindle, I'm sure glad that it was the chosen one! Now, what I do need to know is...what happens next?! After all the 🔥🔥🔥scenes, can we know what happens in 5 years!?

I never thought I'd love a trope more than grumpy/sunshine but Theo & Alba make quite the case for grumpy/grumpy with a side of mean! This book is born your panties off hot while also being sweet and funny.

This was a fun, spicy read. I really enjoyed the banter and the chemistry between. The two main characters. Really enjoyable read.

Sort-of enemies to lovers and grumpy boss turns flirty (turns out he was being GOOD and waiting till Alba wasn't employed by him). Fun and hot and diversity rep!

This is the second book I've read from this author, and I just Can't get enough. I can't wait for things to normalize in my life again so I can devour her back list. This was such an enjoyable read. From the characters, the flow of the story and the writing style. I especially love reading about people who are able to follow their dreams. I did not want to put this book down, nor did I want it to end. And anyone who is able to make a living around book? I'm all in. This was such an enjoyable book, and I can't wait to read all of her future works.

Now this is how I love my contemporary romance with diversity!!

What worked for me?

• Of course Alba and Theo!🌶

• There's no shortage of chemistry & steam here!🌶🌶

• A diverse cast of characters that felt authentically written🌶🌶🌶

• LGBTQ rep🔥🔥🔥🔥

• I'm going to need my family & friends to show up like Alba's did, when I need them to! The friendships here were dynamic❣️❣️❣️

•True to its title, Alba is all about the Hustle culture but her grind comes at a cost. She has to make some decisions about slowing down, taking care of her needs first and stop playing savior to everyone. I love how she found her balance.

• Alba is the founder of a home decor company that transforms rooms into bookish themes! Seriously, show me a book lover that wouldn't go crazy about this idea!

• Workplace attraction & close proximity trope that made the chemistry🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

•Did I mention the chemistry & steam yet? Cause whewww🔥🌶 Theo can be grumpy and demanding but grumpy demanding Theo is🍆🍆🍆

I loved this one so much!!! I was scared with how the MCs work relationship was set up but it played out nicely. I should've trusted Adriana Herrea's proces cause I loved every second of this book

Sigh. Adriana Herrera is absolutely a must read author for me. Her romances bring exactly the right mix of swoon, spice, found family and fierce women. Just jump in without knowing anything! Pick this up now!

Fine - for anyone who needs a little more. Alba is ready to quit her job and start her own business - creating Bookish home makeovers! She’s been doing it as a side hustle while saving up and now she’s ready. When she gives her notice to her boss Theo, he doesn’t even seem bothered at losing his personal assistant. So she leaves NYC and heads to Dallas to see her best friend and take on a job there.

But before Alba has time to settle, Theo is back in her life with a business opportunity. The chance to get publicity for her new business by cohosting a design show with him. I loved Theo and Alba and wanted this book to just keep going. Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for the advance reading copy.

You know how you have your favorite authors? The ones that never miss. Who you vibe with their writing style and literally love everything you’ve ever read by them? Adriana Herrera is one of those authors for me. If you’ve followed me for a while, you know I LOVED her book Here to Stay. So when she announced the follow up book earlier this year, I could not WAIT.

Reading On The Hustle for me has been a mix of flying through it and then attempting to back off and make it last (a light #BookEdging if you will). To say I loved it, is an understatement. This series brings everything I want in contemporary romance: drama, a truly diverse cast, laughs, steeeeeam, “THAT B*TCH” main characters and the real world perspective and politics of navigating life today as a woman of color. As usual, I’m not going into the plot much bc personally, I like to know just enough but not too much. Just trust this about On The Hustle: It’s giving. It giveth. It gave.

On The Hustle by Adriana Herrera was as fun and sunny as the cover suggests...also HOT! Alba, the heroine, loves to design book-inspired interiors and is rocking it on Instagram (I want one of her bedrooms please!) but also works a day job as a personal assistant to a grumpy CEO. You can guess where this is going... Theo is a grump and standoffish at work because he's totally in love with Alba. When she leaves the company, he follows her to Dallas and instigates a setup with a TV design show. They work together and share an apartment while working on the show, which of course puts them in close proximity! Steams basically billows off the page in this contemporary romance. Herrera writes with authentic knowledge of Afro-Latinx culture which is very interesting too. Highly recommended read. Thanks to Netgalley for the advance copy of this book.

4⭐
R because Adriana knows how to make it hot!

Wow, did Adriana take an unlikeable man and convince me he was indeed worthy of a HEA with Alba!! Alba is just trying to leave her old job behind to start her own business ful time when her ex-boss Theo swoops in and changes her plan because... He is secretly in love with her, of course. But the way this book starts!! Theo is a complete asshole who doesn't understand what he did to make Alba dislike him and it was so good to see how his character grew!!

I love how Adriana writes beautiful stories about Latinx women and her commentary throughout this book on what it means to be a child of immigrants was so important. I love Adriana writes the stories she wants to see in the world. While many notes in this book were similar to some of her past, this was still a beautiful story for Alba and Theo. I'm super curious to see whose story will be next!!

Also I must know what people would choose as their bookish boudoir theme.

I really liked this book <3

Like the first book in the series, I really enjoyed the strong friendships and seeing how family dynamics play into the character's identity and conflicts. I was also so invested in in Alba's work and her passions, it made reading this book so much fun. While I didn't love the romance in the first book in the series, I enjoyed the banter and chemistry between Alba and Theo so so much there were times where I was literally gasping or blushing from what Theo did/ said.
