What if your little sister disappears? What if you think you are responsible? What would you do if you can't let go after 25 years? Kate goes back to the place it happened after getting a mysterious message. The message says 'I know what happened to Jess'. From there on, lots of things happen when Kate and her family return to the village it took place. Even so far as being about life and death.

It's a nicely written book with enough tension in it to keep you glued to the pages. At the start it was a bit confusing with all the different characters and it took me a while to figure out who everyone was. The main character Kate is perfectly described with all her flaws and thought processes which makes her sometimes come across as just plain stupid. However, that is also the strength of the character. The struggle within her about this awful disappearance.

When I think about this author, Gina Harte comes out in the same breath. I find this an amazing series and it seems like the author has send the detective on a well deserved holiday, because this book has nothing to do with her.

I was intrigued😊

Imagine: you are a small child and suddenly your baby sibling disappears. Of course at the time there is not a lot you can do. But what would you do when you grow older? Would you let go at a certain point or would you keep on looking, desperate to find out what happened. You cannot believe, even after many years that there was not something fishy going on.

In comes Kate, our main character. She is a wife and a mom, but she cannot be completely happy. That devastating event from, in the meantime, 25 years ago still is controlling her mind and influencing her and family’s day to day life. Maybe she should just accept she will never know, and that’s when a bombshell is being dropped…

In the beginning, I must say it felt a bit weird. I was waiting for Gina to arrive LOL. Force of habit, I guess, but soon enough I was immersed in this story. A lot of people to choose from and stick the label ‘culprit’ on, but I kept changing my mind.
There was always something that did not feel right and in the end I gave up. I really did not know who to believe anymore.

I have to admit that I did not see this coming and when one of the characters fessed something up, I was flabbergasted. I screamed ‘WHAT??? WHY???’ This person could have saved someone a lot of pain, emotionally as well as physically. I will not put that person on my Christmas list ever! 4 stars

Thank you

Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture for the copy of Find Me. This book was not for me. The writing never caught my imagination. The story was okay but very convoluted, with so many characters it was hard to keep them straight. The main twist was obvious, which doesn’t bother me if the writing is solid, but in this case it was disappointing. Kate was a very unlikable character, in fact all of the characters were. 2.5 stars rounded up to 3.

I love Carla Kovachs books and this one was no exception! I pretty much read it in one sitting, I was hooked. I did think I had the story figured out halfway through and then I got to the end and realised that it would never be that easy with one of Carla’s books. There’s always a suckerpunch of a twist somewhere. I liked the character of Kate even though I did want to shake her at times, the writing really conveys the desperation of her need to know what happened to her sister so you can understand why she’s so willing to go to the lengths that she goes to. I love the setting of the book as well, you can sense the small beach town vibes with just the right touch of menace behind it. Can highly recommend this book.

Find me was a gripping read. Whirlwind of a thriller! I loved it. This author has a knack for writing the perfect thriller and delivering it at the perfect pacing. I am immediately identified with the main characters.

This was my first book by this author and I enjoyed it.

Kate wakes up on the 20th anniversary of her sister's death to a message from an unknown individual telling her that they know what really happened to her sister. For the past 20 years Kate has been haunted by the day her father fell asleep whilst watching Jess which led to her drowning and is searching for the truth of that day.

This was an enjoyable book, with the necessary twists and turns needed to keep the reader on their toes. Whilst it won't necessary live long in my memory it was a good page turner and a nice way to pass a few hours.

Thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Wow Carla Kovach hits another one out of the park! Crazy thrill ride that just didn’t let up. I loved the mix of characters, kept me really invested in the story. So much heartbreak, secrets, lies and deceit. Twists and turns galore.
Highly recommend

Find Me by Carla Kovach.
I’ll never forget that day. It was blisteringly hot, and I begged our mother for an ice cream. As we left you with Dad, I didn’t know it would be the last time I saw your face. Minutes later, we returned to the end of the pier where we had parked your pushchair. Dad was asleep on a bench, and your little pink blanket was empty. You had vanished.
A brilliant read. Great story and characters. 5*.
