He promised to keep my secrets. He never told me his…

My husband and I are the dream couple: deeply in love, the envy of all our friends. He surprises me with roses and a beautiful diamond ring, and I prepare picnics for us to enjoy in the sunshine with our adorable son. It’s gestures like this that keep our romance alive.

But nobody knows how frightened I am at night. Oliver promised he’d keep me safe, but strange things have started to happen in my home.

My son is convinced that someone was in his room, watching him while he slept. And someone has smashed the white lantern on our porch. One evening I could swear there’s someone watching me through the window, lurking in the shadows across the street. As I triple check that the doors are locked and kiss my son goodnight, I’m terrified that someone knows what happened before we moved here, and that soon everything I love will be taken away…

Then Oliver comes home with blood on his hands on the same night our neighbour, one of my closest friends, goes missing. And I realise I am not the only one hiding a terrible secret.

We are both lying. But when the truth finally comes to light, who will survive? And can I keep my son safe?

This is an absolutely addictive physcological thriller, with lots of twists and unpredictable turns. It's a fantastic storyline and interesting characters. I read this late into the night and by the end I wanted to leave the light on. Books like this is why this is my favourite genre. Thoroughly enjoyed and highly recommend. Thank you netgalley and bookouture for this ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

chilling twist.... is how I would best describe this book in a short word phase.
I'm such a thriller person these days and books like these( well in this case arcs😂) make me love thriller more and more each time.
while reading this book, i found that I could not put it down. every sentence at the end of each chapter made me go straight onto the next without stopping to think about the time.
I read most of this last night and found myself staying up till 11 reading.
the story was catching and you had yourself asking who, what or why.
I loved it from beginning till the very end.

favorite line
-" your secret is safe with me, but you might want to get rid of this".

book is to be published this week, 22 July 2022.

Imagine being in the perfect relationship, in love, a partner who brings you flowers… but you feel the need to check his phone. This has been the one part of this book which has confused me. As someone, who has never checked a partners phone this is something that always baffles me.

However, despite that minor detail this is a book that has completely gripped me. Liar Liar is fast paced with a multi timeline that really gives us a full picture of what is taking place.

The characters that fill the pages of this one are interesting. I love that this is filled with twists and revelations. I have been completely hooked by this one.

There are creepy elements to this one and the dysfunctional family are central to the plot of this one. This is well written, perfectly paced and filled with the perfect amount of tension and suspense. I loved this book and highly recommend to other readers.

Thank you Bookouture and NetGalley for an early copy of Liar Liar. This was a fast and easy read right from the beginning. It was NOT believable the way her husband treated her at all BUT I kept with it because it was interesting and I wanted to know what he was holding over her. This was an AWESOME Plot!!!! So many different twists, I thought I had it figured out and then BAM, I was wrong. The ending was WOW!!!

Fantastic and unique story centred around a couple with secrets who have moved to a new area but don’t want people to know about their past. The author tells from a past and present perspective where the truth comes out with some shocking twists that keep you gripped. Brilliant read

Liar, Liar by L.G. Davis offers up a compelling and twisty plotline that had me gripped from the very start. Having just finished this author's most recent release, I had high hopes for this one. I was not disappointed.

Ms Davis very effectively utilizes a shifting timeline to craft a tension-fuelled domestic thriller that kept me enthralled from beginning to end. I don't think I am giving too much away in saying that this title is very apt, and I am not lying when I say that you will want to add it to your TBR right away.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for an ARC.

This was a very unique story. It flips back and forth between the current events and the past events that built up to now. It has more twists and turns that a mountain switchback. The story revolves around a young woman who becomes a nanny to an isolated family that has already seen it's share of troubles. Events lead the young woman to protect her charge, using everything she has available. The question at that point was.....what did she do? Then we see that maybe, just maybe, she isn't the villian she thinks she is, but then there are a couple more twists thrown in. I think almost every chapter, maybe every other chapter, will throw the reader a surprise or two. I wouldn't be surprised if this one ends up as a Netflix original movie!

4.5

I am still processing the shocking twists and turns that I definitely did not expect - holy smokes! Have you ever read one of those books that keeps mentioning something, but never really telling you what that something is...at least not till the very end? This one does that. A lot. I normally don't care for that style of build up...it usually annoys me more than anything. I felt that way here hence the reason why it's not a 5 star for me. Otherwise I enjoyed it and absolutely loved the way the author tied the story up in a big 'ole bow. I'm still stunned.

Tess has a deep dark secret. The only one that knows her secret is her loving husband Oliver who has promised to keep her safe no matter what. But Tess keeps getting that tickly feeling that someone's watching her. Tess can't help wondering if her past has caught up to her or if her secret is on the brink of being exposed. Tess focuses her energy on her marriage to Oliver and caring for their wheel chair bound son, but she soon discovers that she's not the only one keeping secrets...

Tess is a nanny who gets the job of a lifetime, working as the nanny of a beautiful, smart little boy Mason who’s father is the very wealthy and extremely handsome Henry Baldwin. Henry specifically requested Tess to be his son’s nanny and he’s also very attracted to Tess. Eventually, Henry tells Tess that he wants her and he will not take no for an answer. Henry’s mother disapproves of the time her son and Tess are spending together, they seem too smitten with each other, so she brings Henry’s old flame into the picture, Lisa. Lisa comes from a rich family, Henry’s parents want him to be with someone like Lisa. Tess feels like she’s losing the man she now loves, she has a friend in Oliver, Henry’s brother and the self proclaimed black sheep of the family.
One day Mason has a horrible accident that confines him to a wheelchair for life and after that, everything kind of falls apart for everyone in the Baldwin estate.
This is a very gripping story about family, the one you’re born with and the one you make. I figured it all out pretty quickly but I’m still glad I got to read this great book, it’s a story that will stick with me for a while. I read this quickly, I just had to know what happened and if I was right. This was well written with a kind of confusing end, because I wouldn’t be able to be as cool with someone as Tess is with Carmen. After all the things Carmen did to her, all the additional hell she put Tess through… I know she’s trying to keep things good between them for Mason’s sake but at the same time, Carmen did horrible and unforgivable things to Tess in my opinion.

This was not, I repeat, this was not what I was expecting! Having never read this author before but trusting Bookouture I thought I would be in for a good domestic thriller that may possibly have some well placed twists.

What I was not expecting was to lose a whole day, the housework was forgotten, the cat was irritated with the lack of attention, sorry Sootifer, and the only thing the book was put down for was to flick on the kettle.

This has layers and layers of story all revolving around Tess. I can’t tell you what she does or who she is (major spoiler territory) but let’s just say she’s very easy to like and you will be absorbed by her stories.

But and this is a big but, you will need to prepare yourself for not everything/everyone is as it seems. The clues are there but are so cleverly hidden I missed them completely. So when the penny finally dropped and I twigged the stories connections I was completely flabbergasted and had to look back to check.

Yes not all of it seems entirely plausible and there were a few shouty moments at character stupidity but for pure entertainment this book was insanely clever and it wholly encompassed me with its intriguing characters and story.

So if you want a good excuse for not doing the housework or just fancy spending the day in the fictional town of Westledge. Then join the Cherry Lane book club with Tess and her friends and see if you spot the clues that I missed. I really wish I could tell you more but I have had to put a hand over my mouth to stop myself spilling all it’s secrets.

Liar Liar had me gripped immediately. It was slightly predictable in places but that did not detract from my enjoyment. It had plenty of twists and turns that had me on the edge of my seat. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Thank you ro NetGalley and Bookouture for my ARC.

Secrets from the past and deceit have the upper hand in L.G. Davis's novel, Liar Liar. Meet Oliver, Tess and their disabled son, Mason, who have recently relocated to another town. Tess suspects that Oliver is having an affair - is someone watching them from the shadows?

This is an exceptionally suspenseful, riveting tale that oscillates between past and present but what are the truths and lies? Creepy, fast-paced and full of twists, I hoped I would be able to complete it before sunrise as it was so enthralling. I'm sure that Liar Liar with its unpredictable conclusion will appeal to many.

I received a complimentary copy of this novel from Bookouture via NetGalley at my request and this review is my own unbiased opinion.

Liar Liar is a suspense filled story that had me on the edge of my seat from beginning to end.
It’s fast paced with twists and turns that at times are heartbreaking and times disturbing.
I have mixed feelings about the characters. Most of they play a hand in the tragedies that to place.
Their hands are tainted with blood.
The only innocent and caught in the middle is Mason.
I just wanted to wrap my arms around this child and shield him from the evil around him.
The plot is intense and gripping. But at times I found it to be quite a stretch and outside the realm of be realistic.
But the writing is outstanding. As in true L.G. Davis style she kept my heart pounding wilding guessing at every turn.

I received an arc copy of this book from Net Galley in exchange for my honest opinion of it. What the heck did I just read??? I truly could not put it down. I have read other books by this author and this one was her best! Wow!

Tess moved into a mansion to be a nanny to Mason, who is the son of a very wealthy man, Henry. Even though Henry's high society family hates her because she grew up in foster homes, she has a relationship with Henry. When Henry's high school girlfriend comes back to town, his family wastes no time getting them back together and that's when it is twist after twist.

The very last line of the whole book is another twist! What an amazing author. Highly recommend.
