would like to thank netgalley and the publisher for letting me read this book

liar liar, what an apt title for a book with so many mis directions and liars...everybody lies...

tess's world changes when she is employed to look after mason a boy that needs someone to love him...... and as she falls madly in love with mason she would do anything to protect him...even from his father....

its a disturbing read seeing how a family can disintergrate and the power plays that happen but on the whole this book keeps you reading as you want to see what else can happen and let me tell you a lot can happen...

with a missing neighbour and mysterious person invading a home its a worrying time for tess

on the whole i enjoyed reading this book, and the twist at the end sends shivers down your spine...well worth keeping an eye out for more of this authors works

DNF. I was taken in by the positive reviews on Goodreads when I requested for this book. And for a while, I was curious about the big secret that Tess was hiding and the identity of the hooded man. But I couldn't wrap my head around the part where Tess tries to trap Oliver into staying in the marriage with a fake pregnancy - the fake test, fake bump etc. I was also not convinced with Tess's reasoning for believing that Jocelyn was the person Oliver was having an affair with. After about 45%, I had to quit reading as the story was moving at an extremely slow pace and I was no longer enjoying the plot.
Overall, this story was not for me. Thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for providing a digital copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.

Could not put this book down! Was dying to get back to it while working, read it in 24 hours. What a great story. The characters were so well developed, loved the writing style, loved the suspense, loved that ending!! 5 easy stars. I'll be on the lookout for more books by L.G. Davis after reading this one!

Tess has an enviable life. She has the perfect marriage, a sweet child, and all you could ever need to ensure domesticated bliss. Tess, however, has a past and things are much more complicated than they appear.

I really like this book.....mostly. For the majority of the book I was interest, entertained, and read through it so quickly. The ending, unfortunately, fell flat for me. It ends up being kind of silly in the way it all comes together. I just kept hoping for more but, also for less. Overall, the writing is very good and the suspense is there. It's definitely a page turner. 3.5/5 stars for me.

This was my first LG Davis book but definitely won’t be my last! Super dark and twisty psychological thriller that grabbed me at the beginning and never let go. And wow the characters are just chilling! So many great twists that help uncover all of the lies and deceit.
Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book

A dark, creepy and atmospheric thriller that was twisty and unpredictable and kept me guessing and on the edge of my seat the whole way through

An extremely dark, well written thriller with murder, manslaughter, spouse and child abuse, lies, adultery.... Well, you get the drift. A totally dysfunctional family with power, money, charm and good looks and the death, abuse, etc. they wreak on the innocent... who are not quite innocent any longer as they struggle and learn how to survive. Brilliantly written but entirely too dark for this reader.... If you like diving into the dark and gritty and never knowing "who" is the "good guy or gal " or even if there IS one, you will.enjoy this book. A dark, brilliant, and complex story.

Liar Liar was an excellent thriller, I couldn't turn the pages fast enough! I loved the storyline and how we slowly get updates about what the heck went down. This book was a wild ride and I loved every second of it! This is my third book by this author and I can not wait to see what her twisted mind comes up with next!

Oh my goodness! This book kept me on the edge of my seat. I am usually pretty good at guessing where a story is going, but I couldn't figure it out.
The characters were written excellently and the author really made you feel for them. Watching everything unravel keeps you wondering what is next.
I loved the chapters going between the present and 3 years ago, this will definitely be a recommend read.

Liar Liar by L.G. Davis is a fast-paced domestic thriller that you won't be able to put down! The story revolves around Tess, who is convinced that her husband Oliver is cheating on her. But for the sake of their son, Mason, she just can't leave him. Or is there another reason why she can't leave him? What secrets is she hiding?

Here is a chilling excerpt from the Prologue:

"It’s pitch-black outside with just a few feeble stars breaking through the clouds, and the cold is as sharp as needles as it seeps into my skin. I’m crouching down with my hood up, hidden in the bushes, watching her through the window as she tidies away their plates and makes her modern kitchen sparkle. He finishes the washing-up and kisses her, and I feel my insides clench with anger. She really has it all; a perfect wife with a perfect life.
But she doesn’t know that when the time is right, I’m going to take everything away from her. The life she has stolen is nothing more than a tight knot ready to unravel, and I know exactly which pieces to pull, where to rip, and when to let go of the damaged strands. I have it all planned out."

Overall, Liar Liar is a domestic thriller that will appeal to fans of B.A. Paris and Kiersten Modgling. One highlight of this book are the absolutely chilling moments that terrified me. Another highlight of this book is the grandmother character, who was nasty, and I love her scenes so much. If I had to complain about 1 thing, I would say that many of the reveals were predictable. If you're intrigued by the excerpt above, or if you're a fan of thrillers in general, I highly recommend that you check out this book when it comes out in July!

Seriously, what the heck did I just read?

I mean, I’m kind of struggling with the rating here. Do I rate this lower because it’s so freaking bizarrely unbelievable? Or do I rate this higher because the popcorn factor is so high??? What’s a girl to do?

And this *is* bizarre. Every single thing that happens is weird. Every character (except for a little boy) is weird and wrong and needs a permanent role in some trashy TV talk show. When it comes to the plot, the author throws in everything but the kitchen sink – and then throws that in for good measure! I am honestly impressed by the author’s willingness to go all out, logic be damned.

I finally decided on four stars because the popcorn was magnificent. But do NOT expect logic or anything at all that makes sense. Just put your brain on vacation and enjoy the very odd ride.

This book was just okay. There were some surprising twists that I didn’t see coming but I didn’t enjoy the book enough to appreciate the shock of them. A few parts of the book I found myself shaking my head because it just didn’t seem realistic. I really didn’t even like Tess or feel sorry for her. I did finish reading it to see how it ended. It just wasn’t the book for me.

Thanks to Bookouture and NetGalley for allowing me this sneak peek! Publication date is July 22, 2022.

I started this story late in the evening and kept reading until early the next day. I loss some sleep, but it was worth it! The story is slow to start, but it builds up and gives the reader some thrills and plenty of twists. The story is about Tess and Oliver, a seemingly perfect married couple and their son Mason. Mason is in a wheelchair because of a back injury. Their life is a facade that hides some deep, dark secrets and that life is showing some cracks. Tess confides to her friends at their book club, that Oliver is hiding an affair. The affair is the least of her problems and an addition to the chaos in her life, she has a stalker. They’re plenty of twists in the story that keeps the reader engaged. The story ends on an ominous note and an interesting cliffhanger.

Another fast faced thriller switching between two timelines. Tess and her husband Oliver share a secret that keeps their marriage going for now. When Tess discovers Oliver has his own secrets and that if he may leaves her, her secret may not be safe anymore and she fears losing her son Mason. A little too much desperation to save her marriage, things sadly dont turn out as thought..

The ending is not great, but then it takes all kinds of people to make the world what it is. A mother's love, an obsessive lover and a desperate wife and an over friendly new friend all made a quick weekend read.

Thank you Netgalley and Bookouture for the ARC

Liar Liar
by L.G. Davis

Thank you to Netgalley and Bookouture for this ARC. The book was okay. It just seemed too much was going on. A bit too unbelievable for me. One dead, and one to go. I could not honestly anyone. Tess was just clueless, and fell for everything, Even the ending just made me shake my head.

What a brilliant book, a new author for me but I will definitely be reading more from her, just my 'cup of tea'. The storyline was brilliant for this great domestic fast paced thriller, I really enjoyed reading about all the characters in this book and the different times, so well put together.

I read this book over two days it just hooked me from the very beginning and held my attention until the very last page and wow what a brilliant ending everything tied up to a satisfactory conclusion.

Thank you to Netgalley and Bookouture for this ARC which I have no hesitation in recommending.
