Barbara Miller provides information on what decrees are and why they are effective. She states that decrees and dangerous prayers will give us the motivation and steps we need to:
• Pray and make daring decrees that can change the spiritual atmosphere.
• Make dangerous decrees and prayers that transform your city or nation.
• Have your faith increased as you see the results and feel empowered.

I just love it when a writer supports their writing with biblical scripture as Barbara has done here, as she provides the following scripture:

Job 22:28 states, "You shall also decree a thing, and it shall be established to you. Light shall shine on your ways.”

Proverbs 18:21 tells us, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue;"

She states that we must Proclaim, Declare, and Decree or Edict that which we are seeking. She gives various examples of decrees being spoken in the Bible and throughout history.

Barbara provides seven or 12 steps to writing Decrees. She states that seven steps are outlined in this book but she recommends 12 steps as listed below:
1. Pray to hear from God on the matter.
2. Define the issue – what you don’t want and do research.
3. Define the opposite – what you do want.
4. Find scriptures to match what you want.
5. Write a decree based on prayer and scriptures that match what you want.
6. Check with God in prayer and adjust if necessary.
7. Add sealed with the signet ring of the Lord Jesus Christ and Esther 8:8 at the bottom.
8. Decree it in your prayer time.
9. Decree it with a prayer partner or prayer group.
10. Share more broadly with relevant people as led by the Lord.
11. Monitor results e.g., in the media and elsewhere.
12. Get feedback from those who’ve used the decree.

Barbara states that this book is for pastors, prayer leaders, intercessors and saints who want to take their prayer to a higher and more effective level. I totally agree with her.
