A different book than I thought it would be. Not a favorite of mine. It took me a while to get into the story. The story was slow and didn't keep my attention long. I wanted to really like his book!

Hard lessons are learned in this moving novel about the love of success and money. As life hits rock bottom for this family, questioning James' plan verses God's plan becomes real. The characters are very realistic in today's world. I love that Reba was close enough to Oma to question her about God. A little drawn out at times but a powerful message.

I received an ARC of, All I Want for Christmas, by Alexis J. Pride. I did not care for this book. Its not a warm and fuzzy holiday story at all.

This was a really difficult book for me to read because I've been both Stacy and the CPS lady, so it was a bit of an unexpected blast from the past. That said...someone did their research into the gritty truths of how quickly life can change and what those changes actually look like for folks on an everyday basis. The end of the book was...unrealistic, honestly, but it's a book. All this to say - everyone should read this book. It'll be uncomfortable at times and make you squirm, but it is a story that will also make you examine yourself and think about the world around you just a bit differently.
