Young and naive, Zamira thought she was in love. Though, she didn't really know the man she married. Only after he was killed in a car accident did Zamira find out who he really was. Now, years later, his past has come back to haunt her.

Dimitri has a sordid past, but he's gotten himself on the straight and narrow as a successful business man. Dimitri has had his eye on Zamira since they first met, but the time hadn't been right until now. On their first date he learns of the threat to Zamira. With the help of his colleagues, Dimitri works to uncover the threat to Zamira and end it before she gets hurt.

This is the first Redstone Security story I've read. While there are a lot of existing characters to keep track of, their appearances didn't detract from the plot. Explanation of the relationships became a part of the dialogue, but didn't weigh anything down (but my curiosity has been piqued, so I will be reading more Redstone stories in the future). I enjoyed the chemistry between the characters. The fact that Dimitri and Zamira had met before helped move the story quickly from the beginning and it never slowed down. I enjoyed the story from page one to the end.

Loved this one. I received a previous book in the series as an arc, and have since read the entire series. I love the relationships, between different characters. I enjoyed Dimitri and Zamira. I particularly loved the ending.

Deadly Protector is the nineteenth book in Katie Reus’ Red Stone Security Series. It is a suspenseful romance novel filled with fantastic characters, a great storyline, no cheating and a happily ever after.

Sparks fly when Dimitri, a former thief and single mom, Zamira meet a wedding. Time passes as they slowly build their friendship, testing the waters for something more. But when a shadow from her deceased husband’s past comes forward, Dimitri will stop at nothing to keep Zamira safe- even if it means jumping back into his previous life. Will their budding relationship survive? Read it and find out!

This book can be read as a standalone, but when read in order, a greater appreciation for the series is achieved. Reus does an excellent job weaving old and introducing new characters into the Red Stone Security series. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series!

Deadly Protector is a great addition tot he Red Stone Security Series!
Dimitri is an ex theif is very protective of single mom Zamira. These two start off as friends, but both have feelings for one another.
When a friend of Zamira's ex-husband starts bothering her Dimitri steps in to protect her. Which leads to him having to pull off a heist to get him to leave them alone.
This book was full of suspense and sexy times. And I loved how some of the other characters from the series are included.
Such a great book. I definitely recommend this series.

Dimitri was awesome! He's that anti-hero that I just love finding. The way he was so protective over Zamira, and he proved he would do absolutely anything for her.

Zamira was pretty awesome herself. I love that she didn't hold back, even with a past that burned her. If anyone would have trust issues, it would be her, and yet she didn't let that get in the way of giving Dimitri a chance.

The way these two were with each other is what really what made me love this book.
thank you to the author am reading her books from now on

Deadly Protector is book 19 in the Red Stone Security series and can be read as a standalone although there are characters from other books involved in the story.

Zamira is a single mom with two kids whose criminal father died years ago. Dimitri is a former thief who now owns several hardware stores and does freelance security work for Red Stone. When a man from Zamira’s husband’s past shows up looking for something, she is in danger. Dimitri goes into alpha protective mode to make sure Zamira is safe, moving her into his home while the threat is still active. Over time, the two get closer and form a romantic bond. It’s clear they’re attracted to one another and care about each other. In order to protect Zamira, Dimitri is pulled back into to the crime world and will have to pull one more big theft. He might be killed in the process, and it still might not be enough to save Zamira.

Deadly Protector is usually the type of book I love - protective alpha male, heroine in danger - but this one was not great for me. It’s a bit plodding, and I had to keep forcing myself to read on. There’s a lot of telling and not enough showing of action. The story is good, the characters and world building are fine, it’s just slow. Maybe at book 19, the series is getting a bit stale - I don’t know.

If you like a book with a lot of romantic suspense and danger with a great band of brothers, I’d recommend this one to you. If you want a fast-paced read, this might not be the one. If you read it, I’d love to discuss and get your take.

Dmitri has mad skills. Of course, there is suspense, this is Red Stone Security right? Action filled, older main characters, and some loving times, you cannot ask for more than that. Love the sizzle coming off the pages all while thwarting the villain. Also loved seeing the other couples. Another great fast-paced story by Katie.

Katie Reus' Red Stone Security Series is back with a standalone story that's well paced, engaging, and one that perfectly mixes romance with suspense.

As former high end thief and now occasional Red Stone contractor Dimitiri comes to the aid of Zamira. A single mum of two who's been threatened by an old friend of her dead husbands.

But what starts out as a guy just looking for information and doesn't mind who he scares to get it soon turns into more. When an old acquaintance gets wind of a heist being pulled without her knowledge or say so.

And as Dimitiri is pulled back into a life he left behind to save the woman he's falling in love with. Zamira is left to fear the consequences and wonder whether one heist will be enough to satisfy a dangerous foe and keep everyone she loves safe.

Would happily recommend.

Alright so who else has the hot bodyguard kink? Come on, I know you are out there. Well this is book 19 of the Red Stone Security series but I think they can be read as stand alone as well. This was a great quick read and had quick little spice. I would also consider it a slow burn, but that alpha protectiveness. The comedy inside was a great mood breaker at certain points; and we all love seeing the strong alpha get stressed with kids. It’s awesome.
Highly recommend this quick little romance read. I may even go back and start at book one, these are really great.

I loved this story. Action from the first date! Dimitri has an unusual career, considering from where he started from and he's never going back. He has what it takes to protect Zamira. Throw in back up in the form of other Red Stone assets, and you have a wild ride. Loved all the interactive parts in this story, the complexity of the plot and the path the reader followed to get to the end. I also liked Zamira's spunk, even being out of the game for a long time, when she wanted something she reached out and took it.

This is an edge of the seat read. Ryba is an idiot bad guy hunting for something he thinks Zamira has. Things get pretty intense and hot with Dimitri when he helps Zamira. It's a good story with a great ending.

This book has a serious friends to lovers vibe, with both Dimitri and Zamira becoming friends first and foremost despite their simmering attraction to each other. However when the opportunity arises to take things further they jump at the chance. Pushed together by circumstances beyond their control things heat up both in and out of the bedroom, but are they so combustible due to the situation they have found themselves in, or is there a possibility of forever? Lots of action, suspense, and of course sexy time, make for an entertaining and addictive story as Dimitri uses all his savvy to protect Zamira and her family from a deranged criminal. Great characters throughout, including some cameos from previous books. I’ve not read every book in this series, but I’ve read a few, and I’ve loved each and every one. All books are interlinked, but can be read as standalones. I received an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley. This is my honest review.

Packed with romance, heat, and suspense…everything you need in a story. This whole series is terrific and this makes a perfect addition. Great characters with a lot of a drama that makes you page turn until the end. You are definitely missing out if you have not read any of this series yet. Better get clicking.

In number of in the Red Stone Security series, we finally get to see widowed single parent Zamira get her HEA with Dmitri, former crook turned occasional Red Stone consultant. The previous few books in this series had focused on Zamira's sisters, and although it can be read as a standalone, I recommend tracking down at least some of the previous books and reading them first.

Zamira has been a widow a long time and, until meeting Dmitri through work and friends, was more or less okay with her single status. But when Dmitri finally asks her out on a proper date, she's ready to jump in with both feet. Dmitri's timing is excellent; a guy from far in Zamira's past (a crook acquaintance of her deceased husband) had confronted her on the beach just hours before, looking for something he claims her husband had.

So Zamira and Dmitri get to combine dating and sexy times with puzzling out the threat against Zamira. Throw in a giant cast of characters from previous books, and we've got ourselves a pretty good romantic suspense novel. I will confess to being a tiny bit bored at times; the bad guys seem a little more bark than bite, and the novel didn't have a secondary storyline running through it like the last few books did. I also feel like though the conflict resolves, several loose ends remained, possibly unnecessarily (unless there's a book 20 that uses them).

Overall though, I liked this fast read, and I'm grateful to see the last of the sisters find happiness too.

I received an ARC of this book from the publisher and Netgalley in exchange for my honest opinion. Thanks!

Great story about Zamira and Dimitri who try to remove one of her deceased husband’s friends from their life. There were a few minor details that I would have liked more information about, but the story was great. Dimitri’s past “occupation” was definitely interesting.

Another exciting addition to the Red Stone Security series! I have read all the books in the series but with all the books that I read, I tend to forget previous books so I can say that while knowing the previous books is helpful, you can read this book as a stand alone.

Zamira is widowed with two children and we have seen her in other books when her sisters met their matches. Now, it is Zamira's turn and she is being pushed along by her daughter to get out into the dating world again.

Dimitri has a criminal and military background and has worked for Viktor who we met in a previous book. Along with her sister's husbands, all the gang is determined to protect Zamira when someone from her past threatens her.

This book was non-stop action and romance so it was hard to put down and I had to read it all the way through to the end! I love seeing the previous couples and Clarita and her husband had resolved their marital issues in the previous book and are now going even better than before. I do want to know more about Zamira's mother, Flora, and her boyfriend.

Oh, and the mysterious woman from the robbery! I hope we see her again!

I am looking forward to the next book in the series!
