I really enjoy that this series doesn’t require that you read every single book to catch up. Granted, the ones I have read are fabulous, but the subtle explanations of connections and people make for an excellent reminder without hitting you over the head with it all. And this time we finally got to see Zamira and Dmitri get their forever! After all, he’s danced around her enough. I was beginning to think he’d never make his approach. I’m glad I was wrong.

Zamira is trying to be okay with her life. She’s a mom. She’s busy. And oh, she’s attracted to Dmitri. But she’s sure he won’t want her complications and loud, messy life. So when he ends up calling, then stepping in to keep her safe, she’s sure she’s just a distraction for him. And Dmitri makes a few mistakes that leave her feeling exactly as ghosted as she thought she’d be. But he loves her. And he’s scared of a few things. Luckily, they communicate, he shows at just the right moment several times, and maybe some prodding from friends can get him over his fear of messing up. Between the angst, worry, danger, fear, and heat, this made one heck of a read that I’m glad for this week!

One of my favorite authors, period. A quick read with good characters.

Zamira has been a widow for almost a decade when one of her late husband's "friends" shows up out of the blue looking for something he says she has that belongs to him. She has no idea what he wants.

What she does have are friends, some new, who don't like this. Dimitri and Zamira has been talking and meeting for coffee since her sister's wedding. He decides he knows who this man is and he doesn't want Zamira any where near him. He decides to handle it or try to.

Read their journey as they handle this or try to without anyone getting hurt and if their friendship could become more.

I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

A big thank you to NetGalley and KR Press LLC for the eARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. This is part of a series but reads great as a stand alone. Zamira and Dimitri have amazing chemistry. I liked that she demanded honesty in their relationship. 4 stars This will keep you on your toes. Great read

Deadly Protector😍

Zamira is finally living the life she wants with her kids. Other than not dating and having no time for dating, when her deceased husband’s friend shows up - she has no idea what he’s after🤷‍♀️

Dimitri and Zamira have been dancing circles around each other and Dimitri takes a chance and invites her out to dinner with him❣️When he discovers what happened with the old husband’s “friend”, he steps in to ensure her safety and deal with the problem😳

A great story, full of suspense and action…I really enjoyed these characters and I’m praying for more stories in the Red Stone world🤩 I received an advanced copy via Netgalley and voluntarily leave my honest review❤️

Deadly Protector (Red Stone Security Series Book 19) by Katie Reus
The Red Stone Security series is one of my favorites. Zamira is a widow raising twins. Dimitri met her and was interested - the was hurt and went to her for therapy. When she is threatened by one of her ex-husband's criminal friends - Dimitri steps in to help. We catch up with so many old friends, there is angst, fear, threats, edge of your seat stuff, tears, laughter and lots of steam to get us to their very HEA.
Reasons I enjoyed this book:
Happily Ever After Entertaining Action-packed Unpredictable Funny Tragic Tear-jerker Page-turner Easy-to-read Wonderful characters Romantic Steamy Scary.
I was happy to read this ARC.

Zamira a single mom raising twin teenagers, she has two full weeks alone while her kids are visiting their grandparents. Dimitri a friend of Zamira's plans on taking full advantage of this time to ask her out on their first date.. While out at the beach she encounter acquaintance of her diseased husband he rattles and frightens her for some unknown reason. When Dimitri asks her out she jumps at the chance, he is cute, sweet, and she has been hoping for a chance to be around him more. Unfortunately while out she sees the same man appear at the restaurant they are going to and tells Dimitri who immediately knows something more is up.

Enjoyable book, fun, romantic and has the mystery and intrigue all in one. Bonus is you read up more on past characters and how they are related to Dimitri. Can't wait for the next Red Stone book!

I'm so thankfull to the author for picking this series back up!! it's always good to see familiar faces again and we do get that here in this one.

We've met Zamira in the previous Red Stone Security book, she's Angels sister and she's a widow with twin teenagers. Years ago she found out her husband was not who she thought he was and when he died in a car accident she tried and succeeded to pick her life back up but never allowed herself to fall in love again. Until now...
She met Dimitri at the wedding of her sister and they have been in contact since he injured himself and she helped him with healing his injury. He's felt an immediate attraction to her but kept it to himself thinking he wasn't good enough for her.
When Zamira gets threatened by somebody from her husbands past, Dimitri steps in and sweeps her away to his house and under his protection.
We get the typical Katie Reus action, twists and turns topped of with a scorching love story.

Can't wait for the next one in the series!!!

*I kindly received this ARC from the author via Netgalley.*

Dimitri and Zamira are everything. I felt got Zamira's situation and I truly wanted her to find a love that she deserved. Dimitri was let's say uber sexy and protective. I not only loved the relationship between these two but also the connection between Dimitri and Zamira's children. Of course Katie brought the action and suspense as she always does in this action filled series. I need more Red Stone books asap.

LOVED this book!!! I couldn't put it down and literally stayed up most of the night reading it. I loved Zamira and how self sufficient she was, and it was great to learn Dimitri's story and see him living on the right side of the law....mostly.

This is a sexy story that has a single mom coming into her own, even as a ghost from her former husband's past returns to throw her life in turmoil.

If you enjoy the genre, you will love this book. While part of a series, this is a stand alone novel, however, it's so good that you really owe it to yourself to read them all. The author is on my must read authors' list.

Deadly Protector (Red Stone Security series #19) by Katie Reus
Publisher: KR Press, LLC
Genre: Romance
Publication Date: July 12, 2022

Deadly Protector is the 19th book in the Red Stone Security series by Katie Reus. This book can be easily read as a standalone romance. It does tie into the series by bringing in familiar characters, but the story line mainly focuses on Dmitri and Zamira.

I could not put this book down! I absolutely loved it!!! The characters were amazing, the romance was steamy and the action was intense!

This book grabbed me from the start and did not let go until the last page! I absolutely loved it!

If you enjoy security romances, I highly recommend this book! If you enjoy steamy romances, this book is for you! If you love action and adventure, you should definitely check out this book!

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

I think this is a really great series and the additional characters that are coming along blend in well within the overall world the author has created, even if of late the stories and links to Red Stone are getting slightly more tenuous as in this one. But honestly we have heard so much about Zamira and her twins, it was just lovely to see her get a hea.

I don’t recall seeing dimitri before (though I have not read all the series I confess) but he seems a great addition with the alpha protective instinct and a bad boy past to add the sizzle.

I enjoyed the storyline of something in Zamiras

Zamira is a single woman raising her twin teenagers. Her husband was killed in a car accident and she found out he was a thief. She has sworn off men until Dimitri. When a associate of her late husband shows up, she’s scared. At least her kids are with their grandparents for two weeks. Apparently her late husband had something Ryba wanted. He has threatened her so she turns to Dimitri. Dimitri is a former thief but now owns several hardware stores plus does some contract work for Red Stone Security. There is a connection between them and Dimitri will do whatever it takes to keep her safe.

I believe this was my absolute favorite of The Red Stone Security series. A woman trying for a second chance at love. A guy on the straight and arrow made to go back to his stealing days. Sex.

Deadly Protector, is all over the place. A lot of drama but not the same level of suspense as usual for this author. I finished the book but not one of my favorites.
