Delightful sequel

This was a delightful sequel to Secrets Never Die, although enough context was given that it could be read as a standalone.

This was a book filled with intrigue, twists and turns that kept me guessing.

The romance was sweet, I'd rate this PG, maybe PG-13 for heavier topics, like suicide, mental health, drugging, military, and mild violence.

I have read this book twice already . Repeating this book feeds my soul . It’s beyond disturbing, twisted, dark and has given me nightmares since the first time I read it. This is will be my go to book suggestion for anyone who asks for the most traumatic book I have ever read .

This is one of those books everyone says they can handle and then the minute they conclude they find their hands shaking in fear . I won’t lie to you. There was no “walks around the neighborhood” for months after this one .

So although you may call yourself a psychological thriller lover please proceed with caution, this is not the book for anyone looking for a boy meets girl and maybe gets annoyed and disappears for a bit kind of thing .

Teaser:

Tallie Brown has spent a lifetime hiding from the ghosts of someone else’s past. Raised by a paranoid woman on the run, Tallie learned from an early age how to disappear. Now she must employ her unique set of skills to track down hundreds who have simply vanished, so when an Amber Alert wakes her in the night, she is the first to respond to the call. But tracking the missing girl comes with unexpected consequences, leading her down a deadly path paved with lies and personal loss that ends in a single devastating truth: General Cai Kaswell, the father she just discovered and the world’s best hope for peace, is among the vanished.

As she struggles to find General Kaswell, Tallie is drawn into a conspiracy that links her past to the string of unsolved disappearances. Her search for answers sends her across the globe, but when it nearly takes the lives of her trusted friends and leaves her alone, she is assigned to a charming operative she doesn’t fully trust. Forced to watch her own back as she searches for General Kaswell and the others, not only does she discover she is the unwitting catalyst for the disappearance of the missing people but she and her father are also drawn into a plot that threatens the Constitution and the balance of world power.

This was a good suspense by Laurie Lewis. I liked that you didn’t need to read the first book to enjoy this story because enough detail was given that the story could stand alone. It was an engaging enough story that I will go back and read the first book. I liked the this story was about Tallie coming to terms with what happened to her in the past and her learning that she is loved and cared about no matter what happened in the past. I liked the plot twist and how things resolved. I thought this story was engaging and kept you on the edge of your seat until the end. I would recommend reading this book.

I received a complimentary book from publishers, publicists, and or authors.  A review was not required and all opinions and ideas expressed are my own.

I loved the first book in this series and was excited to read more of Talkie’s story. This book kept me turning pages long past when I should have put the book down to do other things. The characters are well written. The suspense is intense and compelling. Overall a great book.

This was a fabulous sequel that wraps up all the questions left at the end of the first book. Tallie has finally learned the truth about who her parents are and is not able to tell her father that she’s still alive, but when he and others go missing, she goes in search of them and finds out even more about her past and the woman who raised her. Tallie has to figure out who she can trust. This book is full of action, mystery and romance. It’s a great read!

While "revenge never rests," I am ready to rest after reading this thrilling book! It starts when Tallie is shocked when her mother dies, only to discover that Tallie has been kidnapped as a child. She had an original kind of upbringing and education, one that defies imagination! Now she has specialized skills, such as being able to track and rescue missing children. However, her skills are next needed in a different way. Enjoy reading this amazing book to find out!
I appreciate being given this advanced reader copy by the publishers, and my views are my own.

Revenge Never Rests is book two and the sequel to Secrets Never Die. This second book starts right after where book one ended. Do yourself a favor and read book one before diving into book two.

Speaking of diving into something, Author Laurie Lewis does exactly that. This novel starts with an Amber Alert waking her in the middle of the night. With Tallie's background, she races off to help look for the missing girl. This incident is the beginning of more adventures filled with conspiracy and lies. Tallie has always lived that way not fully trusting anyone around her. My heart aches for Tallie as she has already had so much taken from her and now her birth father is missing. Tallie is such a brave and resilient character. I like her even more in this second book.

This mystery-suspense novel has a little bit of romance but is loaded with action. Plan plenty of time to read this one. Once you are pulled into the kidnappings, conspiracies, and untrustworthy people, Revenge Never Rests will need to be read until the exciting conclusion.

I didn't know that it was part of a series and it was great, very quickly got the info I needed and then it was an adventure. it was fast paced and action packed.
It was well written and enjoyed it!

This was a fast paced book that pulls you in from the beginning!

I hadn't read the first book, so I was a little confused at first, but I caught on.

Loved the characters and the new surprise after every corner!

This is book 2 in the Tallie Brown suspense series. I jumped into this series, blindly, since I did not read book 1 (Secrets Never Die). I can say with all honestly that it is a stand-alone novel and you don't have to read Secrets Never Die; but it took a few chapters for me to understand the characters and events that were alluded to in book 1.
Overall, I liked the characters and storyline of this novel. It is well-written with strong characters, although I am not a 100% satisfied with the end of this book. I can see several possibilities for another Tallie Brown novel. Revenge Never Sleeps is an action-packed suspense with a beautiful romance woven into it.
5 stars.

Enjoyed this fast paced suspense book! A lot of the stuff in this book felt like it was ripped from today’s headlines. The action and intrigue really drew me in and I found it hard to put down. It’s a race against time as Tallie Brown is trying to find her father whom she recently discovered and is now missing. In the previous book, it’s revealed that her mother Julia wasn’t her biological mother and kidnapped her. Despite the dubious circumstances in which she was raised, Tallie can thank Julia for everything she taught her about tracking, self-defense, etc. as it definitely comes in handy as the story progresses.

There’s a bit of romance between Tallie and Jackson James, a once disgraced reporter whom Tallie met in the first book. Their budding relationship is put on hold as Tallie is thrown from one situation to the next starting with a suspicious Amber Alert. From there, the lies and intrigue get more intense. With a global conspiracy and world leaders going missing, the stakes get ever higher. There are plenty of twists and turns and each clue revealed, however small, plays a role later in the story. It’s definitely a suspenseful ride with so many people whom you aren’t sure are trustworthy.

This is my first book by Laurie Lewis and it definitely won’t be the last. My only regret is that I didn’t read the first book in the series. While the author does a fantastic job catching new readers up to speed, there’s still so much information given in the previous book that I felt a little lost at first. I still really enjoyed it and will definitely go back and read the first book. Highly recommend to romantic suspense or clean suspense readers. I received an advanced complimentary copy from the publisher through NetGalley. All opinions are my own and I was not required to provide a positive review.

I am a hopeless, romantic reader for the most part. Recently, I have read a few suspense thrillers that I have truly enjoyed. Laurie Lewis is one of the authors that has captured my attention. Revenge Never Rests is a story that grabs your attention and won’t let go. The story of Tallie Brown is fascinating. Her life has been one great adventure after another. I do recommend reading book one, Secrets Never Die, first. This story picks up with in weeks of book 1’s ending. Tallie, at the ripe old age of 21, she thinks her life will settle down, little did she know what was in store for her. I love reviewing some of her background history and how it continues to tie in to her new adventures. The story deals with so much of the trials and drama going on in our world today, and yet you feel as if you are reading of another time and place. Intrigue, suspense, political warfare, utopia, traitors, so much is happening that you become as captive to the the story, as the characters in the book. It also deals with heartache, injustice, mental illness, and kidnapping in a discreet way. And for my romantic side, there is a sweet growing love story taking shape. I am so impressed with the knowledge and imagination Laurie Lewis has to be able to create these remarkable stories!
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

As I started reading this book, I realized it was a sequel, and it took me several chapters before I remembered that I did read the first one. I only vaguely remember it, so it must have been awhile ago. I highly recommend reading the first book before this one though, because that story plays an integral part of this story.
Overall, the story was OK. I wasn't completely invested in the characters, but it was interesting enough that I kept reading. A little stilted in parts, but a decent story line.

Holy smokes Laurie Lewis didn't hold anything back with this follow up to Secrets Never Die! This book picks up mere weeks after the conclusion of the previous book. Tallie hasn't even had time to process all the information she's learned about her parents, sister, and the woman she believed to be her mother before she finds herself in the middle of plot to destroy the country she loves.

From the Amber Alert in the first chapter to the final chapter it's a thrilling, suspenseful ride. There were a few times I wondered if there was anyone Tallie could trust and changed my mind a couple a times about some of the characters. There were reveals I never saw coming and it showed how revenge can twist a person's thinking. It also shows how a well meaning ideal can become twisted and take away people's freedoms.

The author does a good job of filling in a lot of Tallie's background throughout the story but if you want a full history I highly recommend you read Secrets Never Die before starting this book. Suspense is one of favorite genres and this one held my interest the entire time. I didn't want to stop reading and couldn't wait to get back to it when I had to put it aside. This is a riveting suspense without graphic scenes or language.

I received a complimentary copy from the publisher via NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions in this review are my own.

I’m going to start by saying, you need to read this book. But you probably need to either read or re-read Secrets Never Die first. I had read it, but it was a long time ago. And there were a lot of details that I forgot. I wish I had re-read it first.

I loved Tallie Brown in this one. She is just so smart. Tallie is always one step ahead of everyone else. I loved getting to see what was in her head. There was a lot of things going on in this one. So many people being kidnapped or drugged. And Tallie having to face the facts that she had been kidnapped and could have had a whole other life. These things kept the plot moving so fast. And the reader invested in what was going to happen next. The reader was kind of like Tallie, never sure who could be trusted.

I loved that there were multiple viewpoints in this one. Being able to see what was happening through other viewpoints was so helpful to keep the story moving along. As a reader, I was trying to figure out just what was happening, like the characters. Having the complete picture was really helpful for that.

This book kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time. I loved it so much. Make sure you read both of these books!

I was sent an e-copy of Revenge Never Rests as a gift from the publisher. All opinions are my own.

Tallie is still struggling with the loss of the woman she believed to be her mother, followed by simultaneously finding and losing her mother and twin sister. All she has left is an almost unknown father - and then he goes missing while on the trail of hundreds more missing people. Tallie and Jackson plunge into the search, but slowly begin to realise that there is more at stake than they had any idea of - and Tallie herself is unknowingly in the middle of it all. Can they unearth the conspiracy in time to save America?

If you read and loved Secrets Never Die, definitely don't miss out on Tallie and Jackson's next adventure! If you missed out, by all means go back and read it - but this does include enough background that it could also be read without book 1. This is a fast-paced suspense novel (with a hint of romance) that will keep you on the edge of your seat from the very first page. There's a lot more going on than first appears, but all is gradually unfolded - exciting to watch, if almost too plausible a plot to be comfortable. Clean and well written, with characters I definitely enjoyed seeing more of - I'm hoping for a book 3... Recommended.

Note that I received a complimentary copy of the book from NetGalley. I was not required to write a positive review and this is my considered opinion of the book.

WOW! All I can say about this one is wow. I loved the first story about Tallie Brown and I think this one topped it.

Laurie Lewis wrote a compelling story of a girl that was trying to find out who she is on her own with a particular set of skills that would put Liam Neeson to shame. As the mystery of this one unfolds, there are twists, turns, and false trails that our heroes are required to navigate.

The story itself brings into question the idea of the constitution and the direction our leaders have taken our country. At the heart of this is a lesson about freedom and not forcing people to believe or think a certain way. In our increasingly divided society, I appreciated the approach this novel took. There was complication with nothing black and white. If you want to know more of Tallie's story and the supporting cast, read Secrets Never Die first, then read this one. There is an intriguing world here that opens slowly and definitely needs both books to address.

If you love a good mystery/suspense, I highly recommend this one. I received an eArc through the publisher and NetGalley and this is my honest review.
