Anytime I need a comfort read, Adriana Locke is my go-to author. Cole and Palmer’s story was so sweet (get it?), and they both honestly deserve the world!! Yet another 5-stars for Adriana Locke.

The Sweet Spot is another sports romance (baseball) with a retired pro baseball player, Cole, visiting his family in their little Ohio town. While there, he meets and is immediately drawn to Palmer, a single mom to an adorable son Ethan. When Ethan’s deadbeat father signs him up for baseball and the team finds they are lacking a coach, Cole steps in. While Palmer is resistant to let another man in her (and Ethan’s) life due to how horribly it’s gone in the past, Cole finds himself drawn to her and unable to give up that easily and Palmer finds herself in a situation that might make her believe in happy endings again. As he grows closer to both Palmer and Ethan, Cole must deal with some monsters of his own that threaten to derail life as he knows it.

This book was so good and I can’t wait for it to come out in November. Adriana Locke has woven together a beautiful story and just proves again how she is the queen of small town romances.

This was another great book by Adriana Locke! This was a charming feel good, small town romance. The chemistry between the characters was agonizingly delicious. The suspense and teasers about Cole’s situation were intriguing. The characters were all so strong and great. And I have to say that I just freaking loved Cole. This was the first book in a long time that had me so keyed up in a good way that I was tempted to go to the end just to make sure that everything turned out right. It’s a spicy emotional read that will give you all the feels and the HEA that we all crave. I definitely recommend this book.

They get meeting at different places in town. Cole keeps asking Palmer out on a date and she keeps turning him down. They eventually do go on several dates. They each have issues but together they work them out an fall in love.

I love single parenting books so I picked this one up from NetGalley. This one is a sweet small town romance that will satisfy those into the tropes. The angst is low which is perfect for those looking for a light, quick read.

I loved this book. Palmer and Cole were both great stein characters from the start. Their chemistry was really intense and believable. They had great banter between them which remained throughout the book. I really liked they both had their own issues going on outside of their romance which added another dimension to the story and gave more substance to them both holding back on their relationship. Would definitely recommend

“You never know where life may take you. You just have to have patience and trust that it will all work out.”

The Sweet Spot may just be my absolute favorite book by Adriana Locke. The characters are so richly developed and real and the story is emotional and beautiful. Cole, Palmer and Evan were magic together and I didn’t want their story to end.

“I’m saying that when you’re with me, here, or anywhere else we are, I want you to trust me. You can relax.”

Palmer was a tough cookie with a huge heart. She had not had an easy life, but she was able to rise above her circumstances and make a life for herself. She was always there for her son and her friends. Her struggle to give her son a good life was so realistic. She wanted to believe that love was out there for her, but after being disappointed and hurt so many times, it was getting tougher to believe. When she meets Cole, she’s immediately charmed but holds him at a distance. She’s been hurt too many times and she’s afraid to trust again. Cole’s determination to break through her walls and show her his true heart was so heartwarming.

“I enjoy being with him. But just as importantly I enjoy being inside my own skin when I’m with him.”

Cole had retired suddenly from baseball and was finding that he was a bit lost. He didn’t know what his future now held and he was scared of facing that reality. He falls for Palmer and her son instantly and can’t help but become involved in their lives. He was so genuine and caring and I absolutely swooned for him.

“When I look at him, when I feel his touch, I don’t feel alone in the world. Because I believe that if I needed him, Cole would be there.”

The communication between these two was so mature and I loved it. Sure, there were misunderstandings, but they truly communicated their expectations and feelings which was so refreshing. Watching them build their relationship was so fulfilling. I loved all of their interactions and how they supported one another.

“Because I do know what’s funny—how you can open your eyes and find yourself in a place you didn’t know existed and with people you’ve never met…and feel at home.”

The Sweet Spot truly touched my heart. It’s full of little moments that mean so much and the joy of these moments in life. It shows that sometimes you don’t know what to expect in life, but that if you have love and trust, you can face any issue that arises. I absolutely loved Cole and Palmer and the family that was found in this small town where everyone banded together to help one another. Their journey gave me all the feels and while parts of the story broke my heart, it left me with a sense of joy, hope and optimism for their future.

This was the first book I’ve read by Adriana Locke, and I enjoyed it!

It’s a sweet small-town romance about Palmer, a busy single mom, and a recently retired baseball legend, Cole.

Palmer wants a stable relationship with someone who she and her son can count on. But, Cole is just in town to visit his parents while waiting on health-related news that will determine his future.

I loved how well these two maturely communicated with each other throughout the book, and especially enjoyed the many scenes with Palmer’s young son. Themes of family played a large part in this book, and it was so nicely done!

This felt like a cozy, slice-of-life story, and it made me look forward to reading more by this author in the future!!

Palmer and Cole were the sweetest.

Palmer is a great mother to Ethan and great friend. to Val, but she is looking for more for herself. Cole is a former baseball player home with some health issues and trying to figure out what he wants next in his life. When these two meet it's sparks and chemistry and I loved the ideal of them together.

However, Palmer is looking for forever and knows Cole is amazing and sexy, but doesn't know if he is ready for the committment she needs. Cole is facing an uncertain future, but he does know that he is crazy about both Palmer and Ethan. The SWEETness of these 3 working it out hits the SPOT.

Cole had me at “Hey’!
He is everything – confident without being cocky, attentive, persistent, sexy, generous with his compliments and kindness. Can anyone say swoon?! I loved Palmer, she is down to earth and real, someone you would love to call a friend. She has an amazing strength and a whit that I envy – the one-liners are perfect! Ethan is a perfect balance of teenage sass, childhood vulnerability and adult wisdom. I love that The Sweet Spot isn’t just about the relationship between Cole and Palmer but also the relationship between Cole and Ethan, something that Cole never questioned or hesitated with.
This is a story of love, trust and vulnerability, of honesty and connecting with people to make a family, whether it be blood or found. Adriana Locke hit the sweet spot with Cole and Palmer.

This book was so sweet. Palmer and Cole themselves are great characters, but Ethan totally stole the show for me.

Palmer is raising her son alone (for the most part) and is keeping her head above water. Barely, but she's making it. When Cole sweeps into her life, she is hesitant to get involved. He's only going to be here for a few weeks. Until he takes over the role of coach for Ethan's little league team. Then all bets are off. I love how sweet Cole is to Palmer. A great hit you in the feels story.

I loved Cole and Palmer! There story had everything I Iove. Palmer has taken a few knocks in life but she keeps going for one simple reason her 12 year old son Ethan, who is wise beyond his years! Then Cole strolls into the smalltown that she calls home but she isn't interested, she wants forever and Cole is just passing through or so they both thought! I loved their banter and their chemistry, they just lit up the pages. I also loved the relationship Cole had with Ethan.....that was everything! The perfect small town, single mom romance!

This was so cute! A wonderful romance, filled with witty banter, delightful characters, and just enough steaminess. A must read for romance lovers!

Oh man. Cole and Palmer are absolutely perfect together. Palmer has some pretty high walls, and deep trust issues, but Cole was willing to break her down brick by brick. Their story was sweet and sexy, and I definitely cried a lot at the end, but it was exactly what I needed.

I’m a big fan of Adriana Locke’s books but I have to say this wasn’t one of my favorites. Although the characters are well developed, I felt that Palmer’s refusal to go out with Cole dragged on a bit too long and the time they spent together was not enough to develop into a serious relationship. I did love the connection between Cole and Ethan and how the adults treated Ethan with maturity. All in all, I would definitely recommend this book to others as it was well written and an enjoyable read.

Thank you Netgalley for the ARC.

I really live this book. I am definitely going to go read the rest of Adriana's books. The writing style was really good and easy ro read.

I loved how Adriana wrote this book and how she helped me love this book. I loved the banter and the storyline a lot. I loved how Cole and Palmer worked through things.

Ethan also has a special place in my heart as he understands what is happening and what he felt . He really was a mature child.

I loved the ending of the book although I was beginning to doubt Cole at the end but he pulled through and made all of our days by being a hero and getting his sweet spot.

The small town and sport romance vibes definitely did it for me. I couldn't put this book down and I had a lot of laugh out loud moments while reading this book

This book definitely started as a lighter will they won’t they romance and although there was suggestions of impending bad news it came as quite a shock two thirds of the way through. It was a really great read that held me gripped but I think there should be a warning that some serious topics are covered.. Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for giving me access to an early copy.

What a wonderful light contemporary romance. What really made me enjoy this novel was the amazing characters. I love the single-parent trope, so I was really looking forward to reading this book. Palmer is a very strong and independent woman who puts her son Ethan before anything else. But she has been hurt and betrayed a lot so she is very hesitant to start anything if it doesn't have the potential of becoming serious. Cole is a retired baseball player and is visiting his parents in a small town. He feels an attraction to Palmer the moment he meets her, but Palmer doesn't have time for a relationship. However, Cole doesn't give up and eventually finds his way into Palmer's heart.

I fully connected to the characters and was invested in their lives. Cole is such a wonderful guy and I loved his interaction with Palmer's son Ethan. There were some emotional moments but mostly this was a light and fun romance. I really appreciated that there wasn't any unnecessary drama and that the relationship developed organically. The characters were very likable and I was rooting for them. The story didn't feel rushed and I really enjoy Adriana's writing style. I would've wanted more steamy/spicy scenes, but overall The Sweet Spot was a great contemporary romance.

I loved this book! Adriana Locke has hit this one out the park! Palmer and Cole are relationship goals! The meet cute at the beginning was amazing. On a bet, Cole goes over at the bar to get Palmer's number. But she is a single mom and only looking for long term relationships. Cole screams hot one night stand. Palmer's son, Ethan, has a ball team in need of coaching and Cole is not playing professionally any more. So Cole coaches Ethan's team in hopes of scoring a spot with Palmer. But small towns have a way of growing on you. Can Palmer and Cole find their sweet spot? Or will Cole's secret tear them apart? Great read! 5 amazing stars

The Sweet Spot - I unfortunately DNF this one. While the description sounded promising, I found the writing a little over the top and the characters uninteresting.
